For those of you who like to bash our officials, all I can say is you better give them a pat on the back at your next meet.  I was up in Mason this morning with our youth program.  I'll give Mason a pat on the back for trying because they brought in a boatload of OH certified officials to referee on 20 wrestling surfaces.  They tried.  But many of the officials I watched failed.  I almost had a kid lose in OT on a locking hands call, but it was the first OT and he wouldn't give my kid the takedown.  Then myself and a few other coaches spent about 15 minutes (in the middle of a match) trying to explain the OT procedure to an offiicial.  I still don't think he understands it.

So, what we have is far from perfect, but overall I think we have guys that get the vast majority of calls correct and at least understand the basic calls.
