Topic ID: 4735 | 81 Posts

There was a discussion on this last year so i thought i would bring it up again. Who are the strongest (physically) for each weight class?

Havn't seen him wrestle this year yet but Grant Ohlman was a very strong wreslter last year.

hc's matt

103- although he may not look like it, Fahy is probably the strongest. He has great control on top and it is very hard to get away from him.

bryan thompson looked pretty strong at 130 as well as terrance at 125 and the bryan station kid at 152 who looks like he is in a boxing match

I'd say 103's is probably Goff from Seneca. He seems like the athletic and explosive type.

although alot of people dont know him Tre Such from Fort Campbell is one of the strongest wrestlers I know of. That is pretty much the only way he wins his matches against higher competation

No, he's not i wrestled him and pinned him very easy. I've wrestled Olhman twice and he gave me fits with his strength. I couldn't hit a move whatsoever with his ungodly strength.

Murphy, he looks pretty big for 130.

No, he's not i wrestled him and pinned him very easy. I've wrestled Olhman twice and he gave me fits with his strength. I couldn't hit a move whatsoever with his ungodly strength.

He also has no technique. He outmuscles me easily, but then again i'm also just 112 pounds. He only has 1 loss on the year

yea i was thinking goff for 103 i dont think fahy looks that strong but he is very long and that seems like why he has such good control but i dont know.

and thompson at 130 has man handled by murphy

152 bryan station kid is patrick cornett

wasnt he ur alls running back this year?

Dont know about now, but as far as old school, Jeremy Rhodes was as stong as an ox for his size. Of coarse Livingston Merritt was as solid as they came, and of coarse the lil power house Tendi Charsika  :? spell

matt neal end of discussion nobody he's wrestled ever has been stronger than him anybody wanna argue about it

matt neal end of discussion nobody he's wrestled ever has been stronger than him anybody wanna argue about it

Yeah, I think Ben Rupp was stronger than Neal.

119: Zarth vs Osbourne

Zarth bar-none, wrestled both, zarth no question.

i have wrestled matt, and yeah he is strong, but i wouldnt say the strongest at 119. he doesnt have a lot of brute strength, his strength comes from his technique. with the right technique, the weakest wrestler feels incredibly strong. im not saying matt is weak either, just not the strongest.

Michael Jackson when he was 112 and 119 was oure DIESEL.  Benched over 265 and weighed 112!!!

Also Central Hardin had a 112 pounder in 98 that was a weightlifting champ. Forgot his name, though.

st x had a 125 pounder that wrestled Rhodes in the finals in 1996.  The guy was huge!  I think he was a powerliifting champ

I think Central's 112 was Chuck Warren in 98.

If Matt Neal can get to 189 I promise he'll find a stronger wrestler there  :-D

No, he's not i wrestled him and pinned him very easy. I've wrestled Olhman twice and he gave me fits with his strength. I couldn't hit a move whatsoever with his ungodly strength.

Tre hasnt been pinned this year. His only loss has been a minor decision to Meade

wasnt he ur alls running back this year?

lol yup he was our running back

160 walls BC or ray Larue

Manbearpig... hahaha  i love that name  :-D :-D  :-D

why thank you :-D

Manbearpig... hahaha  i love that name   :-D :-D  :-D

I think Central's 112 was Chuck Warren in 98.

Yep, thats him. Chuck warren was made of bricks and morter.

Tendai Charasika -- Three time state champ in the late 90's, threw everyone around like ragdolls.

Tendi was a beast.  I remember how dominant he was his senior year.  He wouldnt break a sweat in hardly any of his matches.  Very impressive athlete.

Also a running back at U of L, I believe.

160 walls BC or ray Larue

Ray is definately the strongest at 160. He was the strongest when he was an 8th grader. That's the main reason he was able to keep up with the Juniors and Seniors last year

matt neal end of discussion nobody he's wrestled ever has been stronger than him anybody wanna argue about it

i wreslted him at SK's camp junior summer lol

At 215 i think it would be tyler crow from meade county, this kid benches 335 pounds and squats like 600 hes a straight up beast and at 103 probably Larue he seems pritty tough but i dont know

Yeah, I think Ben Rupp was stronger than Neal.

Rupp was way stronger than Neal, hands down

Rupp was way stronger than Neal, hands down

yes i have to agree

103- Kary Goff from Seneca, he's huge for a 103

112- Warra

119- Zarth

125- Demery

130- Steve Norbury

135- Josh Moss

140- Bennett looks beastly, but Thomson is strong and he's agressive, their match was a pretty close one

145- JJ Jude

152- Isaac Ervin

160- Harrison Courtney

171- Hitchings or Ft. Knox's guy

189- Houchins and Jeff Smith are both strong

215- Chiba

285- Whiting

sorry kasey, zarth

103- Kary Goff from Seneca, he's huge for a 103

112- Warra

119- Zarth

125- Demery

130- Steve Norbury

135- Josh Moss

140- Bennett looks beastly, but Thomson is strong and he's agressive, their match was a pretty close one

145- JJ Jude

152- Isaac Ervin

160- Harrison Courtney

171- Hitchings or Ft. Knox's guy

189- Houchins and Jeff Smith are both strong

215- Chiba

285- Whiting

I'd throw in Tennyson from Central in there at 189. The kid looks like he sleeps in a weight room.

103- Kary Goff from Seneca, he's huge for a 103

112- Warra

119- Zarth

125- Demery

130- Steve Norbury

135- Josh Moss

189- Houchins and Jeff Smith are both strong

215- Chiba

285- Whiting

i look at this and see many faults.

103- Kary Goff from Seneca, he's huge for a 103

I wouldn't say that he's that jacked for a 103. He's definitely tall for a 103, and is stronger than just about everyone, but not huge.

milf he is huge I thought he was their 119 when i saw him!!!

I think Nelson from Madison County is pretty tough this year he has had one loss this year. Apparently the kid who beat him was supposed to be wrestling high school according to his mother who was out side bragging about a scholarship. I think Nelson has a good shot at this.

How about the kid from montgomry co. from last year. There 112. I remember when i seen him wrestle his mother screamed "frog" the whole match lol. He was very strong. Someone told me he was benching like 230 or in that area.

Oh i know, Ross Carpenter-Fraiser was his name. He was really quick too. FROG ROSS! FROG!!!!

Brian Robison from Boone County @ 215 is a phyical beast

Brian Robison from Boone County @ 215 is a phyical beast

Also from Boone Co. there 112 pounder from last year was very strong. bobby seimerier? (spelling)

the mead county 215

Kyle Terry from Central Hardin is one to watch at #130

Brian Robison from Boone County @ 215 is a phyical beast

hell ya he is

Kyle Terry from Central Hardin is one to watch at #130

thought he was wrestling 125

He is 125.  Lost to Demery yesterday at NH Inv.  Great finals, though.  Three of the strongest 125's, but the Manual kid sprained (or worse) his ankle against Terry and was out for the rest of the tourney.  Tough break, but that's wrasslin'!

yea i was thinking goff for 103 i dont think fahy looks that strong but he is very long and that seems like why he has such good control but i dont know.

and thompson at 130 has man handled by murphy

murphy is really technical which might suprise you, he looks really muscular but he really isnt that strong. he beat thompson pretty bad but did not use much strength in the match at all

Also from Boone Co. there 112 pounder from last year was very strong. bobby seimerier? (spelling)

I remember him, I lost to him 4-2 or something, I was intimidated by his size but i felt stupid afterwards cause I realized I could have won

The 189 from union is massive and hes just a sophomore

my freshman year i wreastled the 112 from christian co demarcus finch prob one of teh strongest kids i wrestled throught high school

goff beat me by one point on a call that could have gone either way and he wasn't as strong as he looks like he is when hes wrestling

How about the kid from montgomry co. from last year. There 112. I remember when i seen him wrestle his mother screamed "frog" the whole match lol. He was very strong. Someone told me he was benching like 230 or in that area.

This kid was a MONSTER! he was huge for 112. he was lucky that he was really short or he'd been wrestling 125. I wrestled him a couple years back and he was pretty stout.

what about  Joe Raliegh, 189 from valley...he was benching like 450 regularly..

I call bull on "benching 450 regularly." That's NFL size.

Anthony Baily (ft. Knox) from last year won state at hwt and was runner up the year b4 he was huge and just lifted heavyweights like it was nothing

This kid was a MONSTER! he was huge for 112. he was lucky that he was really short or he'd been wrestling 125. I wrestled him a couple years back and he was pretty stout.

Was it Ross Carpenter-Frasier???  He was short but very strong.

I call bull on "benching 450 regularly." That's NFL size.

not bull....he was benching 450..ive seen it with my own eyes as well as anyone who knows him

Was it Ross Carpenter-Frasier???  He was short but very strong.

yea.

i think 160 would be walls or bruning. walls is huge for 160 and wrestles like an animal and bruning hangs with the top kids in the sate and makes them wrestle that stupid left handed tie up of his. when he lockes up it feels like your head is gunna pop

I call bull on "benching 450 regularly." That's NFL size.

Ya thats alot of weight for a high schooler to be benching.

not bull....he was benching 450..ive seen it with my own eyes as well as anyone who knows him

Well, call Guiness b/c the men's record for bench press in North America for a high schooler in the 198 weight class (I gave Joe an extra ten pounds) is only 336 lbs (record was broken in Feb 08). Even in the 220 weight class its only 352. Remember these are HS records.

William Northington bench presses 340 pounds at 160.

what about  Joe Raliegh, 189 from valley...he was benching like 450 regularly..

Yeah, I am going to have to call BS on this one too...

William Northington bench presses 340 pounds at 160.

i'll belive that when i see it happen

This isn't just a weight room big fish story. He is a legit power lifter, competitions and everything. He actually got beat by about 10 pounds or so by a kid in his weight.

johnny erbele CH 140 at the beginning of he season could bench 300

another one is kris perry...down at college he was 125 lbs.(give or take a couple lbs.) and he was benching 275 at the beginning of the season...

I know Jordan Whiting has to be one of the strongest. What is this guy benching?

Idk... But I agree he's one of the biggest guys I've seen. And when he threw that one guy into the scores table at state last year. I went crazy when I seen that!

Tim McKenney is big for a sophomore
