Trace Stafford was injured, while wrestling the 130lber from Bourbon county ( Zed something). I belive he broke his arm... i saw the injury and it didn't look very good . Hope he is okay, and good luck to him.

the wrestling here was pretty tough and the region has been shook up a bit with some of the results here today.

125lb - Eric Bryant - McCreary Central

135lb - Jacob Murton - Lawrence Co.

160lc - Tim Jones - Perry Central

Mcrearys team were missing 6 varsity wrestlers and forfited 3 of those and still almost won the tourny.There were no shake up team wise.

also brady hamilton at 152 from johnson central was in the finals and placed 2nd

We had 6 varsity guys out. 4 due to middle school state, and 2 had personal issues to attend to.

Congrats to Ryan Harlow for winning middle school state at 185!

Most exciting match would have to of been 160 Randall Stevens and Tim Jones, double-overtime with Jones winning 2-1.

Ashland didn't have a great team showing with their 130 Stafford getting injured in his second match, and their 171 Zacor not being able to attend with sickness.

I noticed McCreary was missing most of their varsity team.

Letcher Central had 5 wrestlers in the finals and 3 of them winning championships. These were the first in the newly consolidated schools history. Congrats to the COUGARS.

The cougars had 10 place winners over all and finished 2nd in a tie with McCreary just a few points behind Johnson Central. What a geat accomplishment for a first year program.

Trace Stafford's injury ended up being a severe dislocation, but his season and his high school career are done. Bad way to go out.

Cody Zacor will be back for the regional tournament.

Anyone know why Collins from PCC didnt wrestle @ this tourney ?

you also forgot to post byron fairchild who got second he wrestled very well at 215... ryan kestner got third at 189he started the day of bad but finshed out pretty good
