Loss in the Trinity Wrestling Family

    As some may have read or seen in the news recently. There have been quite a few deaths from Carbon Monoxide poisoning from poorly ventilated power generators. 3 of the people were part of the Trinity Family.

The parents and sister of Alex Wray,1990 State Champion for Trinity@112lbs.(Also wrestled for U of Cumberlands) were found dead Jan.30th in there home. His parents were wonderful people, they will be missed dearly.

Alex, your family is in our thoughts and prayers.

William G. Matthews and Beverly Wray-Matthews 

MATTHEWS, WILLIAM G., 62, AND BEVERLY WRAY-MATTHEWS, 54, were discovered dead in their home on Friday, January 30, 2009 from carbon monoxide poisoning. Mr. Matthews was retired from Henry Vogt Machine Company and presently employed by The Jefferson County Board of Education. Mrs. Matthews was employed for 10 years at University Hospital. They were married for 16 years and enjoyed working together in their church. Mr. Matthews is survived by his mother, Juanita Matthews; a son Alex D. Wray (Fontrina); four sisters; two brothers and three granddaughters. Mrs. Matthews is survived by her father, Bedford Wray, Jr.; son Alex D. Wray (Fontrina) of Crumpler, NC; one sister and brother-in-law of Heath, OH and three granddaughters. Their funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church, 3640 Cane Run Road, with burial in Louisville Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Friday at the church. Arrangements: Hathaway & Clark

Mona L. Stephens 

STEPHENS, MONA L., 42, left this world on January 30, 2009, of carbon monoxide poisoning the same day as her parents William G. And Beverly Wray-Matthews. Mona was a special child sent from the Lord. She enjoyed being around her family and the activities, such as art work, music and bowling at the day program she attended. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church. Mona is survived by her brother, Alex D. Wray (Fontrina) of Crumpler, NC; her aunt, Elaine Hinkle (Samuel) of Heath, OH; and nieces, cousins and friends. Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church 3640 Cane Run Rd. Burial will follow at Louisville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the church. Arrangements entrusted to Hathaway and Clark Inc.

Coach Brown, thank you for sharing this very tragic information with us. This is a loss for the entire Kentucky wrestling family. Please tell Alex we all grieve for his loss and pain.
