How many wrestlers were in each bracket for individual weight classes?
How many wrestlers were in each bracket for individual weight classes?
16 for each weight class. (2 from each region)
But most of the teams dropped out. So their JV wrestlers can wrestle in the city tournament or wherever else.
some teams dropped out but not most. Many of the brackets had 10-12 wrestlers in them. I think the JV state tournament is a very good thing to have as it allows younger wrestlers to gain valuable experience agianst wrestlers from around the state whom they may not get a chance to see elsewhere. It is also good for the fans as we get a chance to watch who is up and coming. There are quite a few good JV wrestlers who just happen to be stuck behind a great varsity guy.
So who saw any JV guys that will be able to crack the varsity lineup and make an impact at the regional or state level next year?
