Just one week to go... What are everyone's last thoughts for each weight class? (Top 4 or 5)

i know the seeding meeting is done, and for my weight i got the first seed, travis got the second, daniel mauser got the third, and john stout got the fourth, anyone else know any other seeds?

I think that 171 will be a tough weigth class to qualify for state in with 8 ranked wrestlers in the region competing for 4 spots

At 285 Aaron mayes got the first seed i got the second jake cooper got the third and trey gentry got the fourth

does anyone know 71 seedings? it should be crazy

I see 3 maybe 4 #1 seeds not winning it.

yeah i see a few number ones that could see an upset this weekend as well.

They use a 16 man bracket in the region don't they?  There are only 13 teams in Region 7.  Do three men get byes and how do they determine who gets the byes.  Would it be the top three?  Just throwing the question out there. 

i dont see how Kinder from TC got the #1 seed at 215 after Shamon beat him this weekend

the entire 145 weight class looks pretty tough and fairly even

Bill Semones of woodford has also beaten kinder and hes thae 2 seed

All of the 215's and 171's had beaten each other in some form or fashion so they were seeded solely on winning percentage. The cream always rises to the top.

I've seen all the brackets, but they could always get changed on the day of. It just depends on whether or not everyone makes weight or not, or if there is a surprise weight jump or drop. :| Can't be positive that everything is final.

alright kentucky, just to settle your mind. i was working travis towards his back from a scramble position, to be honest, he never really had control of me in that situation. i was working him towards his back expecting him to give up and belly out, when he didnt, i sat on him and held him on his back. i knew what i was doing, just didnt expect travis to not know he was in danger of getting pinned, nor did i expect the ref to be looking for the pin, since defensive pins rarely happen. and after the ref blew the whistle i may have looked confused, because if you remember we were close to being out of bounds, and we had been scrambling for quite a while. i figured the ref had either called us out, or a stalemate. then the reason i may have gotten so excited, wasnt because i had beaten travis. (not saying hes a bad wrestler, but i just dont get too excited after matches.) i got excited because i knew that my team needed me to step it up and get a pin if we were to win the dual. thats also why i wasnt wrestling as well as i could have, i was nervous.

now kentucky, you may think travis is going to major me if we wrestle again, and thats fine, i could care less what anyone thinks. but what bothers me the most about this entire situation, is that it just seems like no matter what i do, or who i beat, there is always something wrong with the way i won. just like when i beat caleb schneider at the tci.

Idk. Travis seems like a very good wrestler from what I have seen. But I remember last year when kase and shawn johnson wrestled, there was never really a close match between them. One match kasey would dominate shawn, then the next shawn would major kasey. The whole year they would go back and forth. That's just kasey style of wrestling. That's why Im not sure what will happen this next match. Its anyones guess.

Take it to the mat boys!  I think it will be a great feat for either one of them!  Travis, we know what you are capable of and that you are a class act.  Tc125, don't really know about you except a whole lot of "self confidence" in what you have to deliver and what you think of yourself.

Travis remember some words you have heard recently....look in that mirror and know to take the mat and do your best.  That is what Woodford is about!  TEAM WORK  If nothing else lets show that Woodford is the well behaved, well respected Black and Gold that has been for for many years......The Intimidation has begun!

idk. Bryant has looked good this year but so has Lenz from what i have seen from him at 119. They should both walk through the tourny untill they meet one another

I'm not too familiar with region 7, but if my memory serves me right he didn't make weight at 112 and I think he knew he couldn't. I think he made weight for 119, but bumped to 125 for some reason? Maybe for like one match.

I'm not sure of the details but it wasn't fair for him to take the 119 spot away from the starter so he went 125 (not sure who the starter was).  He lost 1st round to Bourb. Co.

I really feel sorry for the kid. He definitely had a shot at being in the mix for a title at 112.

This is region and his senior year.  I can't even imagine how he must be feeling.

Andy was 8 tenths over.  Harr Co 119 offered to give up his spot but Andy would not do it so he went 125.  He was devastated and could not get out of the dumps and lost his first match by 1.  He was attempting to outmuscle people and was too weak and light.  He wrestled very technically sound the rest of the day and got 3rd.  Majored the kid that beat him I think.  Will be much better next weekend when he can put on weight and get his strength back.  May not win 125 but will be on the podium IMO.

Also, Interesting note on the day  Gray from TC will not be going to state.  Got beat twice and then possibly got DQ'd from 5th place match for unsportsmanlike conduct???  Not sure of details.  Looks like another region title for woodford.  9 in the finals I think.

Krauziewicz is a great wrestler but Hedges is too, Mike Ford the official allowed an illegal chicken wing which injured Hedges, and after that Krauziewicz proved too tough. In the Hedges had his opportunity and let it go, he should have stuck him in the first couldn't do it, and credit should go to Krauziewicz.

Nothing about that chicken wing was illegal. The ref was RIGHT ON TOP of the action and would've stopped it if it were illegal. He let it go and Travis got his 5 pts.

That was not the move that pinned Hedges.

I didn't like PLD arguing for eternity about an OBVIOUS escape call in the Bracco v Milford match. I felt like the coach was lobbying for the next call to go his way (the eventual stalling call on Bracco at the end).

BUT, having said that Milford 100% deserved to win.  He took advantage of the situation, wrestled smart and got a takedown when it mattered. IMO, Bracco was better on his feet and should've shown it. If he works hard and gets 2 takedowns or more prior to the 3rd period then the match would've never been w/in reach for Milford.  Congrat pmilf on a great win, you deserved it.

Never said it was the move that pinned Hedges the chicken wing was absolutely illegal no pressure is allowed to be applied to the joint of the shoulder which it clearly was. When you can't move your arm, it really inhibits what you can do.We can choose to view this from differing angles but in the end Krauziewicz won and that's all that matters congrats to him.

idk if the chicken wing on hedges was illegal or not because my view was impeded by the ref but either way, hedges started his blood time and had the trainer look at it it and after the match he was still holding it with a look of moderate pain on his face it looked like. to me it just seems like he isnt the kind of person to make excuses because he always gets on this webpage and takes responsibility for his losses and does not blame them on any one but himself

The guy never said it was the move that ended the match. Also are you the referee that was inches away? If not then you don't know.

In my opinion the chicken wing was applying pressure to the joint and it should have been stopped instead of damage being continued to happen. Also Krauziewicz won that is settled. However I find it ironic that on another thread a poster on here is talking about people's reading comprehension skills yet on this thread they prove that their own are lacking.

I give credit to travis by coming back from an early deficit. Oh course I think that the chicken wing looked illegal because I wanted kasey to win. But the ref was right there and made the best decision he could. Like it or not, it happened and they both need to look foward to state. Good luck kravy! Haha

exactly mack gathered him self very well and i think that shows a good wrestler able to collect him self and get mad out of everyones site reoresented his school and himself well

Logsdon shook Zarth's hand, shook Headley's hand, shook Critchfield's hand, then when I saw him coming out from the locker room he congratulated Zarth on another deserved win and they spoke after they stepped off the podium.

Logsdon shook zarths hand, and from what i saw kept it together til he got to the hallway, but who wouldn't be upset? i mena Mack was working hard all week to beat zarth, he even put the artical from the hearald leader with the caption that said " Henry clay Wrestler seeks 3rd state title" up in the wrestling room. he was set on beating him or atleast making it all three. i would have been upset too.

Just finished watching Region 7 finals. IMO, wanted everyone to know that Mike Ford was awful in two matches. Bracco match, are you kidding?? Stalling. What was Milford doing? Hedges is lucky did not get hurt worse. Wing started out legal, but went way past legal when Travis K pinned the elbow and had forward pressure, maybe blame that on the asst ref for not seeing that. 

I really think the Bracco stalling call stemmed from the PLD coach arguing the escape in the 1st period for so long.  He really argued with the ref on that one.

I was watching the match w/ my wife and she asked.."why is he arguing so much...the ref isn't going to change it."  I told her that sometimes you argue one call (knowing you won't get it) in hopes that you get the next one in your favor. I believe thats what happened.

But, Milford won. He wanted it more and it showed in OT.

i agree granby. the stalling call shouldnt have been stalling, it should have been deemed a stalemate 15 second earlier than when bracco was called for stalling. that would have made everyone happy, pat could have had another chance to excape and get his 1 point on his own, without the help of the official, and it would have gone into OT that way. pat did seem to want it more as well, i mean doesnt bracco normally beat pat on their feet? this didnt look like the case in OT, pat looked extremely confident with that shot he took.

Wrestle aggressive and it puts you in a better position to win, try to milk a 1 pt lead and it will cost you.

btw, kasey: What was that move you hit seconds into your finals match??  I blinked and you had TK on his back, but it wasn't a cowboy.  It was fonky.

You (and TK) both need to be more aware of when your back is exposed.  Every 20 secs someone was fighting off their backs.  Let that happen this week and you may get a quick pin call.

exactly kasey did the absolute respectable thing and showed he has some class on the mat. as for this site is another story lol

as for nathan grey that is the sorriest thing i think i have ever seen and he really embarassed lexington with that that was completely uncalled for and after seeing that he deserved to not even qualify

Unlike the other person who defended Mack, I am related to him. and i was the first person he talked to after the match. and ya he was upset, as he should be, hes busted his ass this year. He was upset because hes worked hard since he was a kid, and aside from Harrison Courtney, He is wrestling the best wrestler in the state. Zarth is a machine. The "petty" thing to do would be dodging Zarths weight class when he found out where he would be at the begining of the season. Mack has no trouble making weight and couldve gone 112. But he looks forward to Zarths matches more than any others. He just wants a good match, he made a mistake, got caught in a deadly cradle again. Its a tough way to lose a match......

logsdon didnt make a mistake. zarth worked hard to lock up that cradle and he had to have seen it coming. logsdon is good, but he didn't get caught, that move got worked by zarth. caught would have been if he was running a standup and accidentally got his head close to his head and it got slapped on. that was not the case at all...keep up the work mack.

if i remember correctly it went like this. i think logsdon took a half shot, and then got taken down by zarth who countered it. mack was down on the mat, all the way broken down, then zarth ran a nearside cradle, locked it up, then pinned him within the first minute i think.

First logsdon had a deep single leg and almost took Zarth down but Matt kept his balance and they went out of bounds.  The second shot was half-assed and Matt took advantage by locking up a spladle. It took a sec for him to turn him but once he did it was over.

What a lot of people did not see in the bracco. milford match was the fact that when the second stalling was called, Bracco had a figure 4 on the body. When the match was stopped I was sure that was what the call was going to be. But neither official saw that. Also in that match, I am sure the rule says if you call stalling on the top man, the action is to be stopped and to start again in the center. Ford did this on the second call but not the first.

Not sure about that fig 4. He was riding legs for sure but I never saw him lock up the body w/ his legs.  Could be wrong, though.

From what I saw Mack was very respectful when he lost.  If you aren't upset after losing a wrestling match then you aren't a competitor.  As someone who lost 5 straight matches to the same person I can empathize with Mack on this.  When I lost in the state finals to the same kid I was heartbroken for a long time and ran off the mat in tears.  I didn't see Mack throw his headgear or a fit other than trying to get out of the spotlight as soon as possible.

About Bracco's match I seriously don't think Ford understands the stalling rule because he gets it wrong ALL THE TIME and not just against Woodford kids.

i just wanted to clear the rocord of my other post, if anyone thought i was saying that mack threw a fit. i actually did not see him after his match, i was too focused on mine to watch him. i made my statement, just to be general to everyone about losing.
