i think cline beats thomas in semifinals
It was going to be Ren vs George. But Ren went to 150 to avoid George im assuming.
So now probably Johns vs Jenkins at state.
Region 5 has to be 126 with Smith,Blevins and Cornwell, thats gonna be fun with a possible rematch at State !!

That will be a tough 3 to draw early at state.

That’s one I’m excited to see too.

Avoid George, to wrestle Johns or Jenkins or maybe even both is a very interesting approach lol.

I agree and this is the very scene that popped in my mind when I seen it lol. If he loses to George in the Region he would go opposite side at state. That’s the best case scenario opposite of the 1 right? Now he could end up on the same side as the Jenkins and John’s. It seems like a very short sighted approach.

Maybe George will go 150 too and it'll make state super exciting. With weather the way It is these guys bumping up are only gonna be smaller with any weight allowances given.

George is the #1 seed at 144 there bracket is already out.

I give kudos to George. He has either beaten everybody or ran them off. Although it would make it exciting if he bumped to 150, the man came out of the gate at 144 and stood on business - may as well stay there.

I agree! I respect It fully. As a fan its alway fun to see some slight craziness. With that being said what weight is now the most exciting? Is It 150 or does everyone think its a 2 horse race between Johns and Jenkins?

My opinion is 150 is now a three horse race, and 144 has two that can win it.
At 150, I think Ren can beat either. Hunter is strong, but Ren is a more "pure" wrestler, if that makes sense. I think Johns is complete with the strength and skill - should be fun.
At 144, I think you have TJ and George now. Kaygen is tough, but I just don't think he is in the same category yet as the other two (I understand he had a close one with TJ, but a good wrestler can keep it close with almost anyone if that's their main goal). Also, as good as TJ is, it is hard for anyone to beat him, let alone three times in one year, and for this reason I think he now comes out on top at 144 with a close one over George.
I think the best weight is 150 now. But don’t think Ren will be the same there. His biggest asset is defense and size. He loses some of that size advantage now. I could see him being outside the top 4 at 150.
Are all the weights set or is there still time for some of the regions to change that haven't posted brackets? For example could a bunch of 138 pounders go to 144 now that Ren and Jenkins are confirmed at 150. Its CRAZY to me that all brackets aren't released at the same time like Indiana. Kinda makes KHSAA look bad and almost unprofessional to a point.

Some are and some aren’t. The rosters have to be submitted before the seeding meeting. I think the seeds are technically supposed to be released 2 days prior to the regional tournament. However, some meetings are not till the night before. I agree should be the same time.

It would be nice to have uniformity on this to avoid gamesmanship and people moving around after seeing other brackets.

Of course they can. A few regions still aren't released. Is anything stopping moves after they are registered? Couldn't a coach just say he mixed a couple guys up?
That was my thought exactly. Something else that is interesting to me when people will say that Ren is "running" from George, but when Jenkins does It he is "chasing" Johns lol.

I agree with that. Not so sure Ren is necessarily running from anyone - I think for him it is a more difficult route. 150 is no easier, and I believe Isaac would beat George. Also, Ren gave George a great match, taking a lead (or tied, I can't remember) into the third period and lost by a takedown, so he was right there.

I agree with all of this. Johns is probably one of the most complete and technically sound kids in the state. George has arguably one of the best paces in the state. Ill take complete and technically sound in this battle.

Good point,all about the wording

Jenkins lost to johns in the finals last year by a locked hands call. To me that what makes a difference. Idk if anyone is running. I think everyone should go wherever is best for them or maybe there team

I agree with this. But it was said he was avoiding George so he was going up. But to me 150 is the harder route now. Especially considering the control he could have had over the draw at state by being in the same region as George.

Yeah, he would've been split with George regardless, but I'm not so sure that matters much in his case. With random draw, it's possible he could've had Kaygen in the Quarters, TJ in the semis (or in the other order), then George in the finals. That's a tough route, but he still has the possibility of wrestling Jenkins and Johns before the finals at 150 too. Knowing this, I'm gonna assume he just feels better at 150.
