State tournament is just days away and I thought it would be a good idea to have a little contest. Here's how it will work: Pick the winner of each weight class. Rank them in order of who you are more certain is going to win. For example, if you are 100% sure that Harrison Courtney is going to win put him at #1, and if you think that Myron Bradbury is going to win, but aren't too positive, put him at #2 or lower. The higher ranked guys in your list get more points if they win. If your #1 wins his class you receive 14 points, if your #2 wins you get 13 points, #3 gets 12, etc all the way to #14 who only gets 1 point. So, put the wrestlers who you are more certain to win at the top, and put those who you are not too sure of at the bottom, this way you can score more points. If your wrestler doesn't win you will receive 0 points for that pick. The maximum score you can earn is 105 without the bonus (14+13+12+11+10+9....=105). Be sure to include the wrestlers name, and weight on your list.
Example:
1. Harrison Courtney (160)
2. John Fahy (103)
3. xx
4. xx
5. xx
6. xx
7. xx
8. xx
9. xx
10. xx
11. xx
12. xx
13. xx
14. Myron Bradbury (112)
You get the idea.
Bonus Points: Pick one wrestler as a dark horse. Maybe the wrestler isn't ranked to high, but you think he is going to place. Going by the Ranger Rankings, pick one wrestler to place. The lower he is ranked, and the higher he places, the more points you score. The points you will receive will be the difference in his ranking and his placement at state.
Example:
Wrestler A is ranked 14th in the state, but Wrestler A places 5th in the state. 14 - 5 = 9 points.
Tie Breaker: Pick the winning team and the points they score. The closest to this number (if they don't get the team right it doesn't count) will win in the event of a tie.
Entries must be submitted before the first round of wrestling starts. Remember to include the Bonus pick and the Tiebreaker with your predictions.
Remember, this is just for fun. The only prize received will be the sense of pride and accomplishment for being the greatest wrestling analyst on kentuckywrestling.com
Have fun and goodluck!
