ESPN has nominated Cael Sanderson for an ESPY in the category of best male olympic athlete. A big part of the award will be based on fan voting. Take a few minutes and vote for Cael. He was the only American wrestler to win gold in Athens, coming from behind in four of the five matches he won. He beat South Korea's Moon Eui-jae 3-1 in the 185-pound freestyle finals.
Also, up for a nomination is Rulon Gardner for best comeback. Gardner lost the middle toe on his right foot to frostbite after being stranded overnight on a mountainside in sub-zero temperatures. Returned two years later to win bronze in Greco-Roman heavyweight at the Summer Olympics. He retired at the end of his match.
And Steve Mocco for best male college athlete. The heavyweight finished the season 37-0 and was voted Most Outstanding Wrestler in the NCAA Tournament.
