Not sure who go the best but I just looked at 130 and Cox from Larue got a easy draw into the semis.
Im not going to look until they fix the brackets and put Fort Campbell and Fort Knox in

I wouldn't necessarily say he has it easy. he drew cody ward first match and he's ranked just outside the top 10. Both tough wrestlers top and bottom but this match will decided from nuetral in my opinion.
ahah yeah he did i think my draw is good even though i will have a tough 2nd match with holtzclawi think little supe got a good draw to the semi's

Haha i was joking. Yeah and J-Pod beat him at regionals to. I wasnt serious mayne.
I'm just saying, its pretty bad when people are going to say i got the number 3rd ranked kid first than 7 than 4. Its state people, you better be ready for some upsets
Jordan Tennyson at 189 got a really favorable draw.

I'd call it, a pleasant suprise for beating Lewis in the Regional final.
Jeff smith got a good draw, considering he already beat tennyson this yearand after he does it again it looks like he will make it to the quarter finals/semi finals to whenever he has to wrestle stafford

Who is Cox? I've never heard of this guy before.

Larues 130.
If you are good enough to win at state does the draw need to come into play? Just a thought
The interesting thing about the draw. You never hear the #1 guy in a weight class complaining about who he has to wrestle. He is ready to take on all competition. Obviously, Ranger's rankings have an effect on the mind of everyone below him whether they have wrestled him previously or seen him. Before the days of the computer no one really knew much about the other wrestlers from other regions, you just showed up, walked out on the mat and made the best of it. Now you have all season to have someone get into your head and tell you that you can't compete with someone. Only those with strong minds survive. When it comes down to it, the mental preparation and toughness are a much greater factor than the skill level for most wrestlers. Not to stir things up because we know that some are just more talented stronger etc. Being ready mentally is absolutely paramount in competing and winning on the state level. All weak minded wrestlers may want to stay home.

I completely agree. I wonder how many coaches in the state tell the wrestlers not to get on this site. I get on here quite a bit and think it is useful tool for keeping up with wrestling all across the whole state. With that said, I would not want any wrestlers of mine getting on here and getting it in there head that they are suppose to lose certain matches. You can tell that certain coaches must ask them not to get on this site by the way a lot of schools have no one that I know of represented on this forum. Interesting topic.
personally i use this site to motivate me to wrestle better. my draw isnt going to affect how i perform. i actually like that i got maybe one of the toughest draws in the entire state, as far as whos on my side in the rankings. it gives me something to work towards, and it's just that much better if i make it to the finals. :-D
We are getting off topic here, but to continue the thought of kids getting on this site...
I agree this is not the week for a competitor to be on here talking and reading all of the other chatter. During the season I don't see anything wrong with it as long as the kids aren't being idiots.
Back on topic, I think the draw matters to almost everyone. Unless you are the ultimate stud of the weight class, it can be mentally and physically draining to have to battle through too many close calls over the course of the three days. Take Isaac getting 4th last year at region. What if Choate had drawn him first round? Then matched up with Scott or Armstrong or Vaughn while Ashbrook coasted to the finals. My bet would have been on the fresher Ashbrook to bring home the gold. While I agree the top guys usually worry less about the draw, they still don't want to get slammed like Whiting and have to go through all of the top guys to win it.
i do, it just makes the win that much better ranger.
I get on other high school boards and this one is the only one where you see alot of smack talk good or bad don't know.
