Congrats to all that conquered and overcame. 448 Wrestlers, only 28 got to be finalists, and only 14 champs.
There were definitely some surprises here, at least in my opinion based off of my picks.
106 - I believed Brinkman could get it done, however, Waufle had other plans. The kid is good. Being a senior 106 is a cheat code and he almost overcame that. Also, I seen Corbett's emotions after winning. I love to see that excitement, like a huge weight was lifted.
113 - Mayberry showed that Union magic. Good tourney, he wrestled tough.
120 - Had both picks.
126 - Surprised here. Although Clifford and Nance are good, I thought Blevins and Cornwell were still ahead slightly. Hard to justify wrestling math, but Blevins > Cornwell > Nance lol. Maybe the pressure got to both. Either way, Nance looked incredible making Blevins and Clifford wrestle his match.
132 - No surprises.
138 - No surprises. Evans wrestled about as best as you can against Raney.
144 - No surprises other than I thought Kaygen wrestled very smart, and also should've had nearfall.
150 - Someone owes Ren a steak dinner. Both JC and maybe the official (imo) lol.
157 - Sucks seeing Shaddix MFF out, but the Cov Cath kid was wrestling him great. Good win that helped him reach the podium. Dowdy did what Union does.
165 - Had both picked correctly, but WOW, Matney did the unthinkable in my opinion. Congrats to him, I'm sure Jim is smiling down. Couldn't have happened to a better family. Also, my dark horse pick was very close.
175 - No surprises.
190 - Missed out on Steiber. Maybe coming back from injury had him a little off, but congrats to Allen.
215 - No surprises.
285 - Good come from behind by McClure.
