P4P @State

Pound for Pound based on this years state tournament and this years season only!

1- Jayden Raney

2- Jordan Raney

3- Jackson Wells

4- Landon Evans

5- Lucas Ricketts

6- Isaac Johns

7- Dalton Matney

8- George Dennis

9-  Kaygen Roberts

10- Marcus James

Rider Trumbles closest match to anyone in Kentucky was his 7-0 win over Micah. He should definitely be on the list. I would argue he was more dominate than Johns, Matney, George, Kaygen, and James who all had matches within a point or even loses in Ky this year (James closest might be 3 points, but my point stands). Unless you are docking him for losses to Ohio kids which doesnt make sense for a Kentucky P4P.

Maybe Trumble #7 and Matney HM.  There, fixed it.

I would add Ethan Davis to this list.  Undefeated State Champ (4x placer over career).  Had maybe one close match all year?

Roberts was 0-2 against Meyer and 0-1 against Jenkins.  I'm not sure how you put him on the list but not either of them.

I agree.  Although I'm not sure who I'd remove from pin4thewin's list.  James probably had a weaker division than most of the other guys, but he's also competed outside of the state well.  I'd probably have to put Matney/Davis at a tie for 10th...  Can we do that?  :(

Tough call.  From pin's list, I would remove Roberts and James.  I won't count Roberts' out of state losses since this is Kentucky only, he took a weird loss to the Moore kid I believe, granted he did wrestle up that day.  Also, he lost to someone (Meyer) who didn't make his list, so kind of easy (imo) decision there to replace him with someone who has zero losses.

I didn’t have Kaygen on my list but would have to put Davis as tied for 10 with matney. I personally didn’t think davis had as tough competition as some of the other guys but he should be recognized for his undefeated record over the year and mostly dominant performances.

Correct - I meant to say Roberts from the OP's list.  You're list is solid, imo.  With Matney's performance at state, hard to not have him on there after knocking off Brown.

You are also correct that while his competition may not have been the best, maybe he just made it look that easy haha.  In all seriousness though, he wrestled who was in front of him, that's all he could do.

These lists are fun for debate and conversation.  I also wouldn't knock anyone's since it's their opinion, I only offer mine as well.
