This is just a pick of state champions. I mean, I sure hope that you wouldn't pick anyone but the state champions to be on your team.

The state champs are not always the best wrestlers.  Not to take away from their state championship because they were the best on that day and won the match but one could make the argument that that specific match was the 1 out of 100 where they won.

Not really.  You could make the argument for some of the state champions that it was the 1 out of 4 maybe as typically the top 4 placers are all very close to equal and could challenge each other differently depending upon a lot of variables (health, energy level, etc...).  So, really this is the pic. of people you think would place top 4 minimally.

I still want to see that Bradbury/Leavell match lol

Bradbury and Leavell would be a good match i know bradbury was sweatin leavells match with troxell but i would give the edge to bradbury

I know its just your opinion, but Will Bryant over Bradbury, Troxell, and Logsdon?

I know its just your opinion, but Will Bryant over Bradbury, Troxell, and Logsdon?

I really think Bryant is underrated by a lot of people. I mean he had a lot of quality wins this year over Kincer, Holtsclaw, and Leavell(Many believed him to be the #2 guy at this weight). He also put Bradbury on his back at The Dragon and some refs in the state would've called it a pin. I like his chances against all 3 of these guys next year. Bradbury will give him the most trouble though.

What he said.  And that's taking nothing away from Mack or Myron.  Just my opinion...

I say that Bradbury is the one to beat.

As a defending state champ, I'd agree that Myron is the one to beat...however, my pick is still Bryant for next year.

One guy has a state title, that's Myron. He's the one to beat.

Bryant and Logsdon will meet up many times all season. Whoever works harder this offseason will get the best of the other.

I'm not sure Troxell has the technique to compete with the top 119's. I see him trying to make another run at 112.

at the 119 i say mack or troxell condsindering he was in the finals and was the only one not to get pinned by bradbury at state but will can shock anyone at anytime so i say these 3 will all have a shot at the state title next year

103 - Garth Yenter

112 - John Fahy

119 - Micheal Osborne.. i know hes not ranked here but he was a small 119 and it would be good to have bradbury and Osborne in the line up

125 - Myron Bradbury

130 - no pick.i didn't like any of em

135 - Caleb Ervin

140 - Josh Johnson

145 - Grant Ohlmann

152 - Kory Shotwell

Mack doesn't get the respect he deserves. He can win a state championship. I was very, very impressed with him this year.

As much as he talks it up on here, you have to admit that Woodford's 2010 class is very deep. I wouldn't be surprised if they had 4 champions next year with a few placers that came from nowhere. Thats just how Woodford Co. is. I'd call them a State Championship contender next year for sure.

103 - Pat Milford

i just think were going to do well. we have the potential but its a long way off feb. and not enough work has been put in yet on my part, i learned that this weekend. but 385 strikes a good point, what other teams are going to have good senior classes?

I would look at John Hardin for a good senior class.

Kirby Goodwine

Jordan Murphy

Josh Johnson

Glen Frost

Max Malito

for aaron carr to have as much of a tremendous season as he had, its surprising no one went with him as the 125 or 130 all star. i would pick him over michael, mack, austin, and bradbury as well.

I disagree, it would be impossible for their 215's to lose!

the reason i would pick those boys is cause they are my team and i didnt see anybody work harder then they did thats my opinon even if it had to exclude me i would pick everyone of those boy's think you 385 but this year was just like my second year at wrestling and what surprised everyone was that i was varsity more than the actual vetran that has wrestled more than 5 years

1. You used "think" whereas you should have used "thank"

2. If its only your second year, then chill out rookie.

3. I was merely making a joke that in the 215 slot you put 3 wrestlers. Three wrestlers cant wrestle one match. Duhr.

but an all-star team are really good wrestlers..not wrestlers where most didn't place at state, or did any??? Im proud of you man for having team pride and it takes alot of stupidity and guts to say something like that, i know.

Pretty sure Chiba was a senior this year, and Demery at 130 is a stretch IMO, I think he'll be up at 135 or 140 next year...

Mine would be

103- Garth Yenter

112- John Fahy

119- Myron Bradbury

125- Michael Osbourne

130- Caleb Ervin

135- Mat Slone

140- Josh Johnson

189- Josh Lewis

215- Drew Newberry(possibly)

285- Trey Gentry (he looked pretty impressive)

These are just my picks.

Pat Milford is going to be hard to beat, if he can stay at 103. And I have talked to him and his words when I asked him if he was staying 103 were; "Almost definitely, tell everyone dude!"

well im sorry ok lol i put 2 seniors in there lol i forgot i couldnt do that

Who won between pat milford and nick paden?

well im sorry ok lol i put 2 seniors in there lol i forgot i couldnt do that

Well that wouldn't really qualify for the 2009-2010 season now would it?

Who won between pat milford and nick paden?

At state Paden lost to Fahy 14-3 in the semi finals, and Milford lost to Fahy 15-0 in the finals.

Anyone that knows anything about wrestling knows that you cannot go off from match scores to know who would be whom.  Differences in styles account for a lot.

103 - pat milford

112 - john fahy

119 - zac brown, luke troxell (gotto go with team pride on this one guys  :-D)

125 - myron bradbury over osbourne on this one close call though

130 - no good pick for me here, i dont think palmer will be 30 though, i think he'll be 119 and that puts him behind troxell and brown

135 - maybe demery if he makes weight, other pick is ervin

140 - demery or ervin, depends which one. if both in same weight ervin by far.

145 - josh johnson, if he doesnt move up and stays 140, it will be a dogfight between ervin and him.

152 - grant ohlmann, korey shotwell, and andrew wright all look good to me at this weight. once again, threw in andrew based on the team pride.

160 - jake lee?????????

171 - brad hitchings

189 - brad stafford or josh lewis. brad has the edge but not by far.

215 - tyler pace. if he gets his conditioning on track it wont be a contest.

285 - i guess ryan harlow? never know here.

oh and sorry about the aaron carr statement, didnt realize it was an all star team for next year.

I know a lot about wrestling. And I was trying to give an example to someone. I don't know what the two of them did against each other, so I gave an example from a common opponent.

At state Paden lost to Fahy 14-3 in the semi finals, and Milford lost to Fahy 15-0 in the finals.

Paden beat Milford 1-0 last year in a dual. At that time, though, Nick didn't even weigh 103.

What was he like 105 or 106? If so, I hardly think that is very significant. How did they wrestle then?

No, nick wrestled 96 at middle school regions and State that year ('07-'08). He only weighed about 98 lbs then. They didn't meet this year though.

And don't say it is insignificant. An 8th grader who weighs about 98 lbs wrestling a sophomore who weighs every bit of 103 is a VERY significant difference.

not to mention the skill level, the sophomore has wrestled on the high school level for 2 years, the middle schooler is finishing up his last year of middle school competition. the difference between the two levels is huge. middle school is like the rec league of wrestling, if you can fit in a singlet you are prolly have a varsity spot. there is just no competition.

Everyone seems to be conceding a state title to Fahy next year but didn't he get beat at Central this past weekend??  I also think he was wrestling 125.  Not sure he will be there next year but that is where he stands now.

i didnt think he got beat. who beat him? if it is true

pat barely weighs 103 pounds now, i doubt he weighed every bit of 103 pounds his sophomore year. besides, i actually don't think that pat started wrestling until his sophomore year, at least not varsity. pats freshman year(three years ago) jon voth wrestled 112, and dunbar didn't have a 103 pounder. so the other statement about pat having more experience at the highschool level is also nullified, because it was pats first year.

John did wrestle 125 at Central H.S. this weekend but no body beat him

wow myronB, you comment like you are on his team or something and actually know...jeez. why dont you leave the commenting up to people like newfan13 that actually watched him get beaten.

You can almost never guess weight off of an offseason tourney. Like I talked to Keaton Thomas from Union he was wrestling at 135 and he told me he was going 119 next year (my pick to win the region). your 112s and 119s are usually in the 30s in the offseason. Unless you're me who actually cuts weight for these things

newfan13 never said he watched him get beat. he said "didn't he get beat this past weekend?" note the question mark

I have issues with those two picks. Brock isnt even gonna win Region 1, with Wade Willen and David Sahms both ahead of him.

Less issue with Kevin Cooper, but I think Myron Bradubry and/or Michael Osborne are going 125 and are returning State Finalists

I hear that Brock is going to a private middle school, so he won't be wrestling varsity this year.  However, if he did, he would be a handful for whoever is in the region, and should beat Sahms.  And look out for Keaton Thomas at 119.  He will give Bradbury all he can handle.

David Sahms weighed around 95 pounds last year, and only just now is weighing around 105-108. Brock from my understanding weighs around the 80s maybe mid-90s. And I honestly feel David's technique is on par with Brock's

Ive heard alot of mixed reviews about Keaton. But if he is good I cant wait to wrestle him
