The fight happen last week with him loosing by decision, I believe
That's incredible ball-n-chain. Thanks for sharing that. To see kids like this fullfilling their dreams is very inspirational.
With all due respect, I just don't understand how this guy could seriously do well at MMA. I mean he can barely guard his face. He does have somewhat of an advantage because he is always considered a grounded opponent which means he can't be kicked. However I just don't see what's stopping someone from just raining down punches on him.
Is there any video of the fight? Because I'm interested as to how it came down to a decision

I don't understand it either but he did it. It's an amazing story. There's a kid from Ohio in the same situation that made it to the state tournament and I think he is wrestling in college. I don't know his name but I read a story on him some where.
With no jokes intended; The kid has somewhat of an advantage, because he doesn't have any limbs to be pulled on or submitted. Theres no way that you can put him in an arm bar, or an ahma plata (spelling?). It seems like he would be an easy target for a high kick towards the head.

This is the funniest serious comment i've ever read. With no jokes intended; The kid has somewhat of an advantage, because he doesn't have any limbs to be pulled on or submitted. Haha... but really though. I mean, submission is pretty much thrown out the window other than a rear naked. Also, wouldn't it be pretty easy to pass his guard? It just doesn't seem likely that an amputee of this degree could be very successful.
Ok after watching the video, its obvious that the guy was not going 100%. I mean, there was nothing stopping the other guy from just hailing blows on him, and he didn't. It is an inspirational story and man, but I just don't think that the octagon is the place for him. He didn't even have gloves on.

he didnt wear gloves because they souldnt get them to stay on with the humidity and you could catch him in more than just a rear naked choke just for EX. gullitone choke, Darce choke, triangle, and arm triangle

I don't see how you could get the guy in a guillotine when his head is at your knee levels. A triangle is possible, and maybe an arm triangle.
His book is good read. Some of you guys should take this into consideration. It will put things in perspective. Sometimes when you are down there are ways to look for exuses or someone to blame or your having a bad day. Think about Maynard and what he has overcame adversity. Life ain't so bad is it?

u could sprawl on his shots and pull a guillotine u could also get one if he was in your guard
