New update.  I still haven't seen many results this summer to gauge what kids might be moving up.  I have heard a few things from camps here and there, but need more feedback.

Except for the fact that he was behind Lee who he lost to at state.

i thought vince staten was too old to wrestle this year

Except for the fact that he was behind Lee who he lost to at state.

Other then tht about right on

Except for the fact that he was behind Lee who he lost to at state.

Please for the love of god, hop off of preston's jock strap. Everytime i see your post, i know it has something to do with him, it gets old...

Sen Andre Hearn told me if he does wrestle this year he is goin 285

Sen Andre Hearn told me if he does wrestle this year he is goin 285

I have heard this around as well...

eas 160 hunter has beaten JH Max Malito by pin

as i recall Max Malito had the flu and walked right into a head & arm throw from Boroff(where Boroff got all but 2 of his points) and Malito ended up losing by 2. if Max was healthy, the outcome would have been totally different

sounds like this might just be max malito himself.

lol thats state man you know how much pressure you have at states

lol thats state man you know how much pressure you have at states

thats part of it man, the rankings are to show where ranger thinks everybody in place at STATE. even though its state, you have to wrestle through the pressure.

The fargo discussion has been moved to the general forum... keep this thread strictly related to rankings.

this might not be very big but im dustin thomas and i talked to the doctor and im able to wrestle im coming back at the 140 division

Is Broussard(Sen) really going 189?

He'll do well but, I dont think he is that heavy!!!!

How is Robbie Sahms ranked 19th at 140 when last year he beat Patrick Bunch who is 6th at 145?

because bunch placed at state and beat quality people were as your buddy quit and hasnt wrestled for awhile plus bunch has  gotten much better and put in alot more work let your friend show how good he is during the season then u can argue him being higher if he beats bunch again

Ok we will see how it goes during the season

Keaton Thomas (11th 119) tells me he beat Jimmy Lacy twice (4th 119)

once 6-2 then 6-0

allot of people at 119 have beat jimmy lacy after all he was 2 maches away from placing at state.

A LOT?  Maybe I am misunderstanding.  Are you talking about 119s from last year or the current ranked 119s.  If you are talking about those currently ranked, I would like to see that list.

You said people, so can you give me 3 examples of guys that you can make an argument should be ranked higher than Lacy?

215 Pace says he is going hvy next year. about 260 right now

Zach Green is going back down to 130 he tells me now  :|

Here is were it gets confusing, first he quite easily beat Keaton Starks at the Blue/Grey Duals, then lost to Keaton and Brent Feher at Regionals

joey henderson will be wrestling 112 for central hardin dustin jaggers 119

215 Pace says he is going hvy next year. about 260 right now

WOW.  Who gets that spot, Pace or Bell?

wow bernard ray at 189? 160 to 189 is alot of wieght. is it steriods or potatoe chips?

WOW.  Who gets that spot, Pace or Bell?

lol sounds like you are really confident about that. Just in case you dont know not every kid wrestles in the off-season.

Yeah, here in KY they don't.  Just like Mr. Granby above, they don't care about being competitive at a larger level.

...or they may have to work to help the family, or maybe involved in something academic, or maybe involved in football camps, or just may be lazy.  It is really hard to say so maybe we shouldn't assume anything and just encourage. :-D

Yeah, here in KY they don't.  Just like Mr. Granby above, they don't care about being competitive at a larger level.

ACTUALLY, every kid does not wrestle during the off season in any state.  You may recall that many, many kids have higher priorities including family, work, and other sports to name a few.

There's no point in arguing guys. Don't you know? The Great Dinubus is always right

Yeah, here in KY they don't.  Just like Mr. Granby above, they don't care about being competitive at a larger level.

I wrestled in the off-season every year, but i was fortunate enough to have alot of support and didnt have to work, and i didnt play other sports.  You always seem to look at things one sided Dinubus, things arent always wat they seem.

i only wrestled during season, except for  a few camps, and tournys. work, and girls had alot of my attention

I don't think anybody is  criticizing those who don't wrestle during the off season. those who's priorities are to be a competitive wrestler at the next level do wrestle during the off season (the same as those who wish to move on in soccer, baseball, basketball etc do aau or completive traveling teams, those that are satisfied with only high school sports do not).

Yeah, here in KY they don't.  Just like Mr. Granby above, they don't care about being competitive at a larger level.

To start, dinubus, you truly have no idea what you are talking about.

I've coached Mr.Granby in the spring and summer and been in his corner in a national tournament(NHSCA Va.Beach twice).

Derek is a great kid.

There weren't any football scouts when we wrestled Jeffersonville like you said.tOSU coaches attended a dual at Trinity against FLoyd Central.

Also, As far as I know there is no such thing as the NHSAA as you referenced previously. Well, there is, the New Hampshire School Administrators Association. The governing body used is the NFHS(National Federation of High Schools).

Things are not as cut and dry as you make them out to be when you get on here and rant about Kentucky wrestling. Our state programs have been improving quite a bit for years. The process has been started to try and change Bylaw 25, which is the "Limitation of Seasons" bylaw. Kids are wrestling in the spring and summer, new programs are being started, old ones are being brought back, and then someone like you gets on here and runs there trap about something you know relatively little about. Believe me, there are quite a few things that need to change, but nothing happens overnight.

Bottom line, it offends me (and quite a few others I've spoken with) since I've been involved with our states wrestling for over 20 years.

I wonder how much you really know wrestling. I know, I know you were a state champ, hurt your neck,blah,blah,blah.....

Where is that applaud button when I need it?

This is why I have the utmost respect for Coach Brown, honest and straight to the point.  I had the priviledge of being Mr. Granby's coach for 2 years and I do call it a priviledge.  I have never been around a kid who worked harder at anything or cared more about the sport they loved.  That includes 2 kids that I have coached in HS football who are now playing in the pros (Isaac Sowells / Doss / Cleveland Browns & Garry Williams / Seneca / Carolina Panthers).  Dinubus is obviously is ignorant of that which he speaks.  Derek wanted nothing more than to wrestle in college.  He was unable to do so his 1st year after high school, yet he took classes at a JC and still worked on his wrestling skills.  With no help from anyone, he worked his way towards achieving his goal of wrestling in college, just like he did with being a state champ, and now this fall, he will be attending Lindsey Wilson and competing for their wrestling team.  That really sounds like a kid who doesn't care about being competitive on a larger scale, doesn't it?

Maybe this time, calling the great and all knowing Dinibus worked...usually he responds immediately with more nonsense and tomfoolery.

What happened to the rankings? Can we move this discussion some where else? :x

Give me a couple days and I'll update the rankings and lock this thread.  But I have to admit it has been fun for me to watch so I haven't been in a hurry to end the commentary.

Yeah well when you have someone just as hard headed as me you have go give up some time.

I just got tired of hitting my head against his huge pectorals.

Us backurds kentukians don't unerstand dem suffisicated people or dem city folk.

I will say this however.  Coach Brown

BEST POST EVER :-o :-o :-D

Maybe this time, calling the great and all knowing Dinibus worked...usually he responds immediately with more nonsense and tomfoolery.

He's probably rounding up his legal team. I am still scared that any day his lawyer is going to knock on my trailer door and serve those grand jury warrants.

And, guys please no more accolades to Coach Brown. I don't want his head getting so big I have to put the bolts back in his neck to keep it from falling off.

Yeah well when you have someone just as hard headed as me you have go give up some time.

Oh PUH-LEASE!  I've read your posts for almost a year now and you are no where near as hard headed as him.

Wow!?  :-o took me a couple of hours to decipher this post. I sure hope you wrestle better than you write.

Not sure where to start.

1.  After looking at both the middle school and high school state tourneys I see that Carr was middle school state champion with no one else near his ability.  The McCreary kid not wrestling in either tourney.  So the edge must go to Carr.

2.  McCreary placed 39th in last years state tourney.  It would be a stretch to believe they will place top 10 this year let alone top 5 or .

3.  McCreary had 6 qualifiers last year (all returning this year) but only 2 of them winning a match (Shoopman 6-2 and Staten 2-2 at Hwt)

4.  Johnson Central took 11 to state last year and 10 will be returning this year. Only 1 did not win a match at the state tourney. 4 of them were state placers.

5.  We all know that anything can happen at a dual meet (switching wt. classes, etc etc) but in a tourney JC is way ahead of McC.  They will have many more higher state placers than McC.

This from the GOO. It's my opinion and you can take it or leave.

GOO out

Live long and prosper.

jayce carr wrestles in europe and places at national/international events tyler lawson list of accomplishments yeah idk either i hope jayce techs u just to make u look dumb for saying your goin to beat him

1...i know carr was middle school state champion thats middle school not high school and ive been training all summer i know if i beat him in the eyes of all of u it will be an upset but to me it wont

2...i know we placed 39th at the state tourney but this year is differentour 103 gets to come back he was ineligeable last year cause he was in 7th grade... cody hunt will be back at 119 or 125 he had a staff infection or something at region and didnt get to wrestle... me tyler lawson will either be at 119 to 125 depending on how much more i can cut i weigh 127 right now after cutting all summer long so i may make 119 once practice starts and if i do i think ill win state at 119...david phillips will be at 135 and he hurt his knee at region he will b a very high ranked 135 this year...we have a 140 from kansas named gary dickenson who is really good i watched him grapple against a 175 pounder so yeah...larry sammons should be back at 145 and he will be tough to beat...our 152 nick staten will be back he was ineligeable cause of something that happened at school....160 shoopman is first now enough said....171 andy will be tough...215..cody smith is suppose to wrestle and he is stronger than hell hes never wrestled before but just cause how strong he is he will be tough to beat...HWT..vince is #3 he mesed up at state wont happen again our team will be good i promise anyone who thinks it wont

ManBearPig

I just wish you had an English teacher that cared as much as you do about your elated predictions about next season.  Good luck in all those endeavors (nothing wrong with having expectations, even when absurdly lofty)...
