I can only pass on what my kids tell me, and its looking like there will be a log jam for us around 119-125.  Two seniors Corey Krieger and Devante Unnikrishnan both say that will be at 119...And returning at 125 are state qualifier Brandon Cleveland, plus Trent Cox is here...Oh well, competition will be fierce at the spots we have

how come i went from 119 to 125 when i weighed in at 124 at BGSG?

Since Bracco isn't small enough (right now) to go 112 he assumes Bracco goes 119 and you jump up to 125.  Not the case??

You got is granby.  And I'm not insinuating that Bracco beats you out for the spot.  Maybe you don't want to cut the weight, it is better for the team, or any number of other reasons.  I'm just making a preseason projection at this point.

I have heard a rumbling or 2 about this, but have not received anything definite.  I figured once we got into school someone would confirm what the final decision was.  Anyone from KCD or North give us a thumbs up or down?

Hardy's family keeps in touch with mine all the time and we practice together and such. I can assure you he will not be attending North Oldham. The KHSAA would not let Hardy wrestle for NO without making him sit out his junior year. Hardy will be back at KCD.

Well, it is too bad to hear that.  It sounded like everyone supported the move at the end of last school year.  He's a great kid and he has a great family.  I hope it all works out for them.

Wow.  Thought he asked for a North or KCd kid.... not an Eastern kid who has an opinion on everything.

Well obviously that "eastern kid" knew more about the situation than anyone else discussing this issue.

B/c he posted something?  OK- if you're that gullible here goes-

I heard, because my mom's aunt's cousins hairdresser is best friends with his mom's dog's trainer's cousin-

that

Joe Carr Jr actually has 1 yr of eligibility left and is planning on doing it at Paul Dunbar.

Oh well i guess then joe carr jr will be at PD next yr.. no.. but i dont see a reason to not believe it if two ppl confirm the same thing which is more reasonable than hairdressers and dog trainers

jojo really does have another year, were saving it for the year were in a real tight spot, how does your hairdresser know this?haha

Sorry if I offended you by trying to help a guy out. I'm not simply trying to state my opinion on everything. I know 100% that Hardy will not be wrestling for NO next year. It's as clear as that.

Ranger i would first like to say that on the hole your rankings feel really good. really darn good  but i do have a probe with the 130 rankings. the problem is that kid from stX has doen nothing to bbe on sdl this list. i have seen him lose to bradnon scott from meadeee county on m,ultiple ocxcasions. I seent it. this mead kid is rufthless. and the stx kid just isnt. im sorry./ he feels really good but he just isnt rough enough on the mat. i think in time he will come into his own but not now peace homes

OCMVP, you clearly didn't read Eagle's post. He didn't state an opinion. He told you what he knew from direct contact with the Hendren family. He's correct that Hardy will wrestle for KCD to avoid losing his junior year of eligibility.

I see the backbiting and criticizing are already starting. At least we have Danger to lighten things up!

Dont worry Mama bear I'm sure he can fight his own battles.

What I heard was that Hendron is going to KCD but plans to practice and travel with St. X.  Can he do that?  :-o

No it is considered a scrimmage each time he practices with a team other than his home school.  Take it from an experienced one on the matter.  Trust me ya dont wanna do it. :-o

By the way ya only get two srimmages a year so if he practices with another team two times then there goes your scimmages for the year.

Just call it an open mat and anyone can show up. Then all in the clear.

I'd hate to see this kid not be able to wrestler because he is the only kid on the KCD team with no one else to wrestle.

Or you could be like the military.  "Don't ask don't tell". :-D

I heard that Hardy checked into it with the khsaa and his options were go to another school and loose a years eligibility or stay at kcd and represent kcd but practice and travel with another school and only if he could find a school that would agree to it,and st.x did.

We're not here to discuss eligibility of a student (read the rules). We're also not here to bash the KHSAA.

Thanks

Ok, I understand.

Im glad that the KHSAA is allowing this guy to continue his wrestling career in a matter that will allow him to reach his full potential. Sounds like he was abandoned by his teammates and coach, good to know he wont have to sit out this year.

Joey Henderson should be ranked higher than 14th he dominated USA wrestling with ease, and would've done well at nationals. I think he deserves a top 10.

At 103 4  Old Co  TJ Schuyler  do you think he stay 103

At state when i talked to him he said he prolly wont go 103 he would 12 cause cuttin weight will be to hard

I really don't know.  I usually take the approach to leave them unless I have a good reason to believe they will be moving up (I know they were cutting a lot of weight or they weighed in this summer 50 pounds heavier).

ha yea there is no way he will be down there, man i doubt his bmi will let him anyway

I thought Antwan Fields was now at PRP?

He was trying to and during the summer we thought it was a done deal but when he went to register they denied him and said he has to goto his home school..

Oh, how i've missed you.

Danger.. are you still on here talkin smack!? haha Sup big homie!

Looks like SOUTHERNS going to have a pretty decent team this year!! GO TROJANS!! Heck of a lineup of little guys!

Go Coach Latsha!

JAMES HUFFINE!

AND MIDGET BOY 119!!

when dont southern have a good team????? they been doing it big the past couple of years but will they take regional title again making tti two years in a row.......

where is huffines going? u said they have good little guy line up, who are they if u dont care to share.

when dont southern have a good team????? they been doing it big the past couple of years but will they take regional title again making tti two years in a row.......

OK I'm sorry but I have to call you out on this statement.

In the last 5 years Southern only placed in the top 25 at state once (2006 they placed 25th)

The other years go as followed.

2009--------27th

2008--------41st

2007--------48th

2006--------25th

2005--------45th

I'm not sure what you call a "good team" but I personally don't.

Don't get me wrong I think they have some competitive wrestlers but a top team they are not.  I would rather call them an up and comming team.  They have made some great strides in the last 10 years and maybe some day they can become that good or great team but not yet.

This is the opinion of GOO

Take it or leave it.

My opinion means very little.  :-D

Oh come on GOO.  You underestimate yourself.  I'm sure at least a couple folks on here give your opinion a lot of value.  I took the comment in relation to the region.  And we won't go any deeper than that region 3.

Awww thank you Rang.

Now that we don't have smites or Kudos (i forgot what the good marks were called) anymore I don't know what to do with myself.

I can't tell If I'm stirring anything up.

A team is as good as its expectations imo. i mean im not trying to hotdog but im making an example, wofo is suppose to be a good team every year, and when we dont live up to our expectations (state title) every year its hard to cope with. Southern has its own expectations, they take what they can get and make something of it. i mean they are a solid team, thats why coach carr books them every year for yellowjacket tourny, cuz they're solid. im sayin look at someone like zack tucker, my sophmore year i never would have thought that kid would do anything, ever, but after a year of workin with the southern team, he came back last year and surprised alot of people. He put me on my back at my own school, with some of my best friends watching too :x, but im just sayin, dont say (even if it is your opinion) that a team isnt what people would call good, southern is as good as it works. And state finishes are hard to determine if a team is good or not, alot of variables are involved at state.

So KY10 are you proposing that we need to be politically correct and tell everyone that they are all special in their own way.  Hey, maybe we could give everyone that shows up at the state tournament a medal to make sure they feel good.  NOT!  State tournament finish is what it is and you either finish near the top or you don't.  Of course a lot of variables affect the state tournament.  But a lot of variables affect what I eat for lunch as well but that doesn't change where teams across the state stand in relation to each other.  They are either consistently near the top (1-10, maybe 15) and considered really good or not and should be described otherwise.

Dang are you Southern's mama or something. This sounds like something your mom or grandma would say to you.

When someone says they have a good team then there should be some truth in it.  A solid team to me is a team that fills all the weight classes with average kids.  Southern probably fits this definition.  I hope them the best and can see them getting better every year, but lets not get ahead of ourselves.  Put them in Region 6 and they might place 5th, with maybe a half dozen state qualifiers.

State finishes is not a good indicator if a team is good?  If not state then what is?

I also did not make this comment toward Southern112.  My response was to Qiuckshot, I didn't think he was a Southern wrestler.

This is the opinion of GOO.

Take it or leave it.

Many seem to leave it.

Other than the Gross, and Smith kid from Letcher Central, who else is going to make some noise? I was also told other people was coming out for wrestling this year. Who all is for sure coming out?

At 125 you have Cooper over Supe. they wrestled last year and Supe teched him.

Yes, you are correct.  But that was last year and relatively early in the season (conference I think) at 125.  Based on what I saw at the state tournament, Cooper was a buzz saw.  And only an 8th grader.

Reality and perception are different.......they seed based on last head to head I would think...

Supe beat him head to head......your perception is flawed.......both were in different weight classes at State......head to head is all you can go by here

At 103 you have Nathaniel Long  ranked 13th and John Anderson 14th......Luke Rearic has beaten Long 2 times last year and just beat John Anderson 17-7 going away at the Bluegrass State Games.....yet you rank him at 17th

You never know when they may use your rankings in seedings at early tournaments this season....I would think you would want them to be accurate for all concerned

Thanks for you efforts.....all in all you do a great job......you do have a good eye for talent

lol

Wow.  Thought he asked for a North or KCd kid.... not an Eastern kid who has an opinion on everything.

Obviously he's right... I go to North and know that this is true... So you should probably keep your mouth closed before looking like a fool on a forum about Kentucky Wrestling...

Well just felt like bringing this up

Fort Campbell's 135 Zach Green has been training with Olympic Wrestlers over the summer. He has only competed in a national grappling tournament, but he won that and with a takedown

This is not seeding.  This is a prediction for state tournament (2010) finish.  I appreciate the feedback on results.  Summer results are considered, but can rarely be taken at face value based on conditioning and mat time.

wrestling season starts next month cant wait :D.

Early tournament seeding?  Are you kidding me.

The only tourney that should be seeded is the Region tourney.

A tournament should try and separate a few good wrestlers if there are any in the wt classes.  Anything after that should be drawn from a hat.  OK or computer drawn.  (still don't like the computer tourneys, we did them faster by hand in my day)

Pre season tournaments (Any tourney before the region) are just to get ready for region.

By the end of the year when the region comes around Ranger will have a well thought out and accurate rankings.  As long as he gets results from the coaches and tournament directors throughout the year.

So don't get your panties in a bunch about the rankings at this point and time and don't worry about what seed you will get at the early tourneys.  Do your thing at these tourneys and win as many as you can.  The cream always rises to the top.

Live long and prosper.

Now ive been told, I havent confirmed it yet. That a potential 152 pounder for Fort Campbell was a 2 Time European Champion, I just talked to him today. His name is Brandon Ellis (I assume that is how you spell his last name). We also have the younger brother of a 3 Time European Champion at 103, but he probably wont be starting.

Mrs. Gusse told me today that 2 brothers are also moving here from Europe who have been wrestling for a long time but I dont know their weights or achievements

Well the New Jersey guy who moved here last year turned out to have been on Long Branche's JV Team. By the time he reached us he was Kenny Monday meets Gene Mills. I try to say supposdly know after the whole issue last year where I missed a dual and everybody started telling me fake results. Then expect me to be able to convince people when we actually do have talent.

This is an article about the older brother of one of the people I just mentioned
