I just don't see Eastern that high in either regard.  IMO, they are maybe top 20, losing a state champ greatly affects total team points...

Maybe top 20, huh? The fact is, Eastern is always underestimated. The team hasn't been below 14 since the year 2000. In 2003, Eastern finished 7th and had no champions. Granted, two were finalists. Still, before J.D., the team hadn't had a champ since 2002 but still finished top 10 or top 15, so losing a state champion in and of itself doesn't determine ability to rank high as a team.

man bear pig why  you so quick to say nelson will be 3rd to central cant you just wait til wendsday then nelson scrimages them and i think nelson could pull it off they have no good wrestlers in there heavier weight classes which will make the diffrence in points by all the pins central will give at the heavier weight classes

They have hired 2 new assistant coaches. Richard Brooks who wrestled for Eastern in the early 2000's, and Coach Pacheco (haven't heard his first name) who used to wrestle at Army.

HA! I was thinking the same thing as I typed that. But his name really is Richard Brooks. He took 7th @160 in 2002

Nice response Tilt.  Yeah, I wasn't sure if there was any truth to the coaching situation.  Eastern seems to be rolling along, like usual...always a tough team.
