what schools are going to attend this on dec 30? i know of valley, southridge, tecumseh, crawford county but am not sure of the others.

Last year we hosted Floyd Central and they dominated our tournament. Southridge came in second to them in their region last year and won their sectional. Therefore, I believe that they will be the team to beat in our tournament this year. As for the other Indiana teams, I am unsure, but Indiana teams usually bring good competition.

oh cmon indiana is no better ecspecially the schools listed above. southridge will have a stud 52 and 215 but other than that the indiana schools that r listed will be no better than average at this dual

ive seen southridge, crawford county, tecumseh and christian academy. the only good kids in that group are southridges 215 who is really really good, southridges 152 who is very good, crawford counties 145 who is pretty good for a second year wrestler, tecumseh has a pretty good 171 or 60 who should do well. christian academy had a 145 last year who was decent but other than that they should be somewhere at the very very bottom at this dual in terms of team placement.

The 215 that wrestled last year for Southridge will not be on the team this year. Southridge also graduated everyone else over 160lbs from last years varsity team. The kids they do have back will win a lot of matches. They do wrestle Union County and Louisville Trinity from Kentucky each year. Some years Southridge wins and some years they lose. Last year Southridge lost to Union County 44-36 and lost to Louisville Trinity 40-26. I don't know how those teams did in Kentucky last year but if you do that may give you some idea of the level of team Southridge may have.

215 made some bad choices to make himself ineligible. Songer will be no lower than 60 from what he told me. He was really struggling with making 52 last year and looks bigger this year.

Songer is at 171lbs right now. He weighs 168 naturally. He could go down to 160lbs if he wants to but for now he plans on being 171lbs.
Southridge beat South Oldham today. I think the score was 50-24. Southridge was without a few guys that they will have back for the Valley tournament. They put in a JV 112lbs wrestler and moved everyone from 112lbs to 140 up one class. The varsity 119 and 145 were injured and did not wrestle for Southridge. The guy they will have at 135lbs did not wrestle at this tournament but should be at Valley.
how does southridges big boys look? im sure huge as always but were they able to put a sound wrestler in at 215 and hwt?

If he is...he can hang up his hopes for a state title...Hitchings is a beast. Of those he did not pin at the Rumble, he only had 3 points scored on him...probably when he let them up so he could take them down again. He also had a 9 sec and a 21 sec pin. that's just nasty.

When we wrestled Shawnee on Wednesday he weighed 158. I think he is just wrestling up during duals to help his team score points.

throwinthelegs, did you make it to Valley on the 30th? If you did do still think Southridge was just average compared to the teams there? They managed to place 2nd with two of their varsity wrestlers out of the lineup.
they failed to impress if that is what you are searching for. obviously i think they were better last year and i simply dont get excited as easily as you apparantly. other than songer and jones i didnt see anyone on their squad who made me go wow i believe that kid will make semi state.

Two of their kids that were semistate qualifiers last year did not wrestle at Valley due to injuries.
which two kids were out? and yes i still feel like they are right at average for that tournament and trinity b team took them right to the wire central wrestled them well and mcreary never got the chance but beat central so would have also provided a stout test. not to mention north oldham beat them. if im supposed to feel bad that they had injuries to overcome ill ask you not to hold youre breath, every team has to rise above obstacles
They were without 152lbs Jason Steckler 11th grade (sectional champion and semistate qualifer last year) and 145lbs Cory Ingram (sectional champion and semistate qualifer last year). Both kids would have had a good chance to go undefeated at Valley. They had to move some varsity wrestlers around to different weights and the put in a 10th grader that is inexperienced and a 9th grader that won his first match of the season at Valley after being out for a year and a half getting chemo and radiation for a brain tumor. To see that match was worth my time to travel to Valley.
