I am the heavyweight from Nelson County and this was my first trip ever to the State Tourny and it was amazing. All the teams there, the mats, everything was great. Especially the finals match. Id never seen anything like it. It was Awesome!

That must make you O.P. or Opie, right? Im glad you enjoyed it, it was my second. I jusy wanna complement you on how well you did! it is not very often that a kid from a first-year program places at state.

What would be a really cool design for the KY State Championshio Mat?
I went to the Indiana finals last year and they had mat with the flag as the entire circle. It looked cool under the mat lights but sometimes it hurt your eyes to try to follow the action because it was almost to bright and to busy with color, but it is really cool. I think it came from a school in Terre Haute, IN and was donated to the school by a VFW group.
Maybe if or when UK or UL starts a wrestling program they will lend us a cool Wildcats or Cardinals mat?

Yeah I know which one you're talking about, the one with the flag on it.. I saw it on that video you had.
But I was thinking like it said Kentucky down 1 side of it and on the other it had a thing like the shape of our state and it's navy blue(solid) and the circle could be gold or something, just a thought but I think it would be nice if they did that.
Yea this was my first year wrestling at state. It would have been sweet to wrestle on a kentucky mat in the finals. I guess 6th place ain't bad for a sopfmore first year of varsity.
Believe it or not there is a UK mat, it is at Uk, thing is it is so old. It was from when they use to have a wrestling team. I think coach Carr at woodford co wrestled for UK when they had a team
Coach Headley, coach at Henry Clay also wrestled for UK, graduated the same year as Coach Carr.
So a UK mat does exist or is it just legend?
