Kentuckywrestling.com HS Rankings 2009/2010 - December 14

Topic ID: 6102 | 57 Posts

What a week of wrestling!  All I can say about this season is we are all going to be suprised throughout the year by a number of events.  I think there will be some huge upsets all season and we will go to Frankfort with a number of contenders at many of the weight classes.  But in the spirit of good fun and lots of wrestling talk, here are the updated rankings based on what I have gathered thus far.  As always, I don't get complete or perfect information.  I appreciate all of the results that so many of you share with me; that's what makes this work.  But if I have missed something just let me know.  And for your own sake, please don't post anything like "why am I ranked #25 when I beat #24 last week in a dual" that just makes you look silly.  Send me a pm and I will make note of it.  And just for everyone's information, I don't trust every post on this site.  I pay attention to those who have some credibility and others I ignore.

I really want to see this 7th grader Mark Hall.  Looks like with him living up to the hype it has put Ryle slightly over Trinity for right now.  Nice Rankings!!

u can watch mark hall on flow wrestling, i believe there's a link on the raider rumble post that has one of his matches

wow so campbell beat trinity at the rumble and some how they go behind them and larue?

whats up with that? and josh johnson beat grant ohlmann. and from what i hear he beat shotwell a few weeks ago. can anyone stop this kid?!?!

The Rumble ain't the state tournament.  You gotta qualify (not hard), but then survive the 3 long days in Frankfort.  Plus, Trinity had a couple kids out.

Alex Pearson(20th) beat Andrew Siladi(18th) 9-7 at the NC duals this past weekend

Good JOB :-D, now beat one of these;

1  Tri  Grant Ohlmann  12

2  Ryle  Connor Coyle  11

3  Vall  Michael Clark  12

4  TC  Andrew Wright  12

5  Shaw  Antwan Fields  12

7  KCD  Hardy Hendren  11

8  Jeff  Dair Shapirov  12

9  Coop  Matt Brewer  11

and I bet you will move up at least two places in the rankings :-o

iam goin to stay 135 for the whole year so yea

johnson beat shotwell in a dual the start of season...but i wouldnt count hsotwell out he is an amazing wrestler and i have no doubt he will beat johnson when it counts the most.... not even being biased both are great wrestlers.

At 189, Cooper Bohn was wrestling for Trinity B saturday at King Of The Bluegrass and he was pinned by Kyle Durbin and had been taken down a few times before that. Durbin wrestled a close match with Decker from Southern as well in the finals, giving up a takedown and backs in the last 30 seconds to lose it. Just throwing these results out there.

Also, How did Shawn Hull do this weekend to move him from #10 to #4  at 135?

Is that why he moved up?

I see alot of movement in weight classes a little early this year, what's up with that.

eagle why all the hype over that one match??? Bohn has been wrestling 5 practices Durbin a month plus??? It is what you do at the end of the season Ranger knows what he is talking about!

Hull beat Kriby Goodwine from John Hardin at the Oldham Super Duals, 10-8.  I believe that is why Hull moved up.  He will be going 35 later in the year as well from what I hear.

"And for your own sake, please don't post anything like "why am I ranked #25 when I beat #24 last week in a dual" that just makes you look silly."

Too bad Im Alex Pearson and im not the one who posted that so lets leave our 'comedic' comments to our selves

Thanks for the info Coach. Was just wondering what moved him up.

Zac Brown is at 119 right now then 112 after christmas. 125 is Joe Davis. And 130 is Chris Kerr.

I agree Ranger does know what he's talking about, I wasn't bashing him or Bohn in any way. I was just giving a result from this past weekend. There was also no "hyping". Everything I mentioned was factual.

As always, great job.  Only thing is that North Hardin heavy weight is Stephen House.  He is 12-2 and took 1st at KOB this weekend.

Yeah, what's up with that?  I thought I saw Browder at Tates Creek, but wasn't sure.  Why isn't he wrestling?

That might be an every week battle between the two of them Ranger, depending on wrestle offs as to who will suit up with varsity.

"And for your own sake, please don't post anything like "why am I ranked #25 when I beat #24 last week in a dual" that just makes you look silly."

I believe Ranger made them worth it to talk about the top 25 when he decided to rank the top 25. Why dont you stop being rude to our wrestling community, and give your ego a rest long enough to let other people ask questions...

sorry for the out burst

hey #1 fan, if you read the first page of these rankings, then you will clearly find that Ranger123 says do not say, "why am I ranked #25 when I beat #24 last week in a dual that just makes you look silly." Now it makes you look silly, read what Ranger123 has to say before jumping straight into the rankings and discussion board

I don't think ranger is saying that you shouldn't post the result of the match. The key words here are, "WHY AM I".

Some people get on here and expect an explanation of the rankings for each person ranked above them. Even if that isn't ridiculous enough, he's expected to know the result of every match, every day, and update every week.

Yeah, what's up with that?  I thought I saw Browder at Tates Creek, but wasn't sure.  Why isn't he wrestling?

I believe House beat him in the wrestle off at the beginning of the season; who did he lose too?

I thought he only lose once at Tates Creek, not sure who it was :|

I haven't seen either of them lose, and I haven't seen Browder wrestle.  Whoever wrestled against Lafayette may have lost.  The Robinson kid for them has really improved.

At the TC Duals Aaron House missed weight but wrestled Dodd Kinder in an exhibition and lost 14-2.

Jeremy Burnham is 119 not 112 just incase you didn't know!!

Andrew Feese is not wrestling

Keaton Hub will be back wrestling at the Super Duals on Monday.

At 215, Cody Hollon is now attending Pike Central instead of Perry Central.

Two different house brothers.  Aaron is NH 215 and Stephen is HW.  Stephen beat Justin is wrestle off by points for varsity position at beginning of year.  Stephen is actually 14-1, only lose was to lafayette. Aaron is 13-2. Both won KOB

Aaron House (NH's 215) did indeed wrestle Dodd Kinder in an exhibition match at TC Duals and he did lose 14-2.

I watched it with my own eyes.

Clarification it was an exhibition match.

Ranger,

Would you please add an attachment with the rankings?

Thanks

13th ranked Omar Jarvis of Central beat 8th ranked Dair Shapirov of Jtown. Today in the rumble in the hive by tech fall 15-0. Omar came out strong and was just to much for Dair.

What other results do you have from the rumble in the hive?

Jake maupin of fairdale is probably out for the season with broken ankle

he has a broken growth plate and will be back in six weeks from what he said which will be about a week and a half before regionals

The difficulty we have ranking kids in wrestling is results are not reported or published anywhere.  Some papers (especially down your way) do a great job of reporting results.  Some coaches are dilligent about sending me results.  And some teams have amazing websites with results posted.  There are also so postings on here and pms from individuals, that have to be taken with a grain of salt because there are some on here who report bad information.  I don't think I was aware of the specific result you are referring to.  The big problem that often arises is when 3 or 4 wrestlers all beat each other.

when will new rankings be posted?

when will new rankings be posted?

probably tomorrow.

That makes things a little more clear thank you.  The match I was talking about was at Oldham co. Duals Cody Reeser beat McNealy in the 215 class-  but you have so much to keep up with I understand now things get missed. But please dont think im trying to brag on my son-- His time will come im sure, he is just in 9th grade.

thanks again...

It should be noted that McNealy experienced tragedy in his family the week of the Oldham County Duals and was so sick that he went home after this match and didn't finish out the day. It isn't exactly representative. He was champion in his class at the Armstrong this week and was in the finals at King of the Bluegrass last week.

Brandon Abney pinned Mack Logsdon today at the Region 7 Duals.

Joe Whalen and Brian White dec. Andrew Wright today.

Zac Brown dec. Robert Bracco

Edward Reed pinned Derrick Campbell

Jimmy Lacy beatr Joe Davis

Will Bryant beat Zac Brown

Freddy Shadeh dec. Sam Bryant

lots of other results, can't remember them all.

wat about will and bracco match

wat about will and bracco match

thats tommarow

I saw on Ohio County's roster that Tyler Boone isnt allowed to go 119

The difficulty we have ranking kids in wrestling is results are not reported or published anywhere. Some papers (especially down your way) do a great job of reporting results.  Some coaches are dilligent about sending me results.  And some teams have amazing websites with results posted.  There are also so postings on here and pms from individuals, that have to be taken with a grain of salt because there are some on here who report bad information.  I don't think I was aware of the specific result you are referring to.  The big problem that often arises is when 3 or 4 wrestlers all beat each other.

WHAT THE H-E...

What in tarnation have I been wasting my time on the result forum then?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Thats fine and I hope his Family is doing better, BUT if you would have read all of what I typed you would have seen I was just trying to find out how the ranking works, plus I have also noticed that a win is a win in the sport. Thanks for you message....

I didn't refer to you specifically, but most on here know you are the man when it comes to reporting and publishing results.  If half of the papers around the state did half of what you do this sport would grow dramatically.  I was referring more to mandatory reporting to the state.  I believe most of the big sports are required to report results to the state.  So there is an official source of scores.
