Do they know the pools yet?????
Everyone team in Region 7 will wrestle eachother. The first round was to be wrestled prior to 12/16. Each team will wrestle 5 Duals on 12/21 and wrestle the other 5 teams on 12/22.

I was not a fan of that way either.It worked out fine for State Duals seeding but not for regional seeds.

That's the way a few coaches in the region wanted it. They outvoted the other contingent which wanted it this way last year.

Good point. I liked the way they did it last year. The 2 best teams should go to state duals.

I would rather see each team wrestle every other team. Tourny format requires placement and last year it was based on previous years placement. Match-ups and number of matches can make a difference. I would also like to see every wrestler meet every one in the region.

Does anyone know if James Childress from Meade County is wrestling this year? He was either 112 or 119 last year. I wrestled him at a couple of summer tournys and cant find him in the rankings.

TC you would think the best two teams went to State Duals because you all went. You don't know that the two best teams went because everyone didn't wrestle everyone. The pools were not evenly distributed either in the pools.. The way to find the best two teams is to have everyone wrestle and then the two teams with the best records at the dual are your state dual participants. This is just my opinion. Are you scared this year you won't make it because they went back to the old format????

Why would we be scared? We are just saying that we like it the other way.
Region 7 looks to have some pretty tough teams this season. There should be some really tight duals with the teams being so evenly matched. I know individual rankings and duals teams are two very different things, but here are some possible individual match-ups (based on Rangers most recent rankings) that might help predict which 2 teams will come out on top. What are you predictions???

I haven't seen all the teams but by Rangers rankings Lafayette verses Franklin Co. Lafayette would have 7 wrestlers ranked above Franklin and Franklin 4 wrestlers ranked above Lafayette with the other 3 weight classes neither team with a ranked wrestler.
I am predicting Franklin Co will win with Lafayette and Woodford battling for second. Franklin has a solid team. Just my guess though!

Woodford won all their duels yesterday beating Dunbar, Harrison Co., Tates Creek, Henry Clay & Bourbon Co.
woodford dominated Franklin county this morning.
I am predicting Franklin Co will win with Lafayette and Woodford battling for second. Franklin has a solid team. Just my guess though!

So it will be Woodford and Lafayette representing Region 7 at state duals. Tates Creek came in a close 3rd place. All teams did an outstanding job.
Tates Creek had there 2nd team 160 and 215 wrestle. With a full healthy line up we would of done way better.
