I have always been told that the way to avoid a quick pin is to stay off your back lol.

Can't say it any better, if you don't want to be pinned. Stay off your back

Good point you can blame quick calling refs all you want, but when it comes down to it its still your fault.
What I was thinking of when I posted it was when David Sahms was rolling out of I think a 3/4 and got called for a pin after being on his back for a millisecond

Im not disagreeing with that, my question was isnt it 2 seconds?
The official rule is 2 sec. in in high school. The two issues are what is 2 seconds in every individual refs mind and when does he/she "see" that both shoulders down. Individual refs. call pins differently. They always have and they always will
Thank you, I understand that is how it will always be, you'll have your 1 second and your 5 second pins. It just really angers me when I see a good match ended by a pin called in say the middle of a granby roll like we are wrestling freestyle
on a more serious note some refs call quicker pins than others but from what I have seen most pins are scapula pin falls
