I saw where Fahy didn't wrestle at the Dragon Invitational. Was he wrestling somewhere else or were there other commitments that prevented him from wrestling in the Dragon Invitational. Thanks.
Where was Fahy this past weekend?

It appears he was registered for the Cliff Keen National Tournament. I didn't see results, but his name is on the Entrants and Seeds attachment (goto above link)
John Fahey won a national in Tulsa this weekend I heard because of the way they do wrestle backs he beat the 2nd,3rd,and4rth place finishers sounds like he had a good tourny. CONGRATS JOHN
Do you know if the results can be found online anywhere?John Fahey won a national in Tulsa this weekend I heard because of the way they do wrestle backs he beat the 2nd,3rd,and4rth place finishers sounds like he had a good tourny. CONGRATS JOHN
He was at Tulsa Nationals. Truth is, this tournament is primarily a "youth" national level tournament. Most high school guys are still with their teams.
Fahy was the #1 seed in his age group, and did not face any of the nationally ranked uperclass wrestlers he did at a tournament like the Beast of the East. A really good showing for John, and nice to get out of state and wrestle other competition, however I honestly think he would have seen just as good competition had he wrestled with the Trinity team this past weekend.
I know Ruschell left his team during his senior year to wrestle at the "Beast", however Tulsa Nationals doesn't compare the Beast of the East at the high school level. Ruschell did it for exposure to college recruiters in his senior year. In my humble opinion, John should have stayed and helped his team this weekend. I personally doubt that travelling to Tulsa to tech a guy from Michigan helped prepare him that much for the state tournament.
Just my opinion.
Does him going there count as a varsity weigh in for Trinity?
Good question about the weigh in, since this was an "age group" tournament and not a high school event. The folks at Trinity had better make sure before they chalk it up to a weigh in.
Congratulations to John Fahy no matter what. I don't remember ever winning any national titles myself that I can recall. I think I would remember that.
