Good Story, but you left out how the horrible decision to cancel over an onch of snow cost the town alot of money. If you figure 16 kids in 15 weight classes plus parents, coaches, siblings, teammates, ect, I'm guessing there would have been 900-1000 people at the tournament. That is 2 or 3 meals per person eaten in local restaurants, plus gate and concessions per person. If 200 people had stayed at hotels the night before, at $80-$90 a pop, that is another $18,000. The way money recirculates through a community, paying city taxes, and, oh yeah, school taxes, the city of E-town just lost alot of money. For that reason alone, I hope it is rescheduled somewhere else.
The financial impact wasn't anything I wanted to put in the story because that's just speculation. I didn't feel it was important for a story that appeared in the sports section. Had this been in our A section, I might have mentioned it.
