Man, it seems like year after year that Sheldon Clark gets snake-bitten around state. Look at Matt Sloane drawing Ohlman in the quarters this year, or Billy Clark winning regionals being the #1 rated 112 pounder in '02, then having an emergency appendectomy the week of state. Just seems like they have had some tough luck over the years.
The teams that work out year long, go to camps, lift weights, eat right, talk less, practice when others aren't and wrestle tough competition even when it means getting your butt kicked, seem to be the luckiest.

I agree you put yourself in position for good things to happen for you.
The opposite can also be said. Look at Chris Henry from the Bengals. Put himself in bad situations and bad things happened. Was finally trying to change, and he put himself in another bad situation and the worst happened.
