Kentuckywrestling.com HS Rankings Pre-Season 2010/2011 - March 16

Topic ID: 6700 | 79 Posts

Okay, I waited almost a full month, so I figure it is about time to start thinking about next year.  I know I have a ton of guys in the wrong weight class and probably missed a few kids who missed the end of the season due to injury, but I think this is a good start.  I'll continue to make adjustments as I see summer results and guys get fat.

hey ranger rankings look great but just a FYI jerron roberson from prp ranked at 160 will be at 140 next year, he only had to go 160 because he lost his wrestle off and i believe camryn feilds will be at 152

Nel Co  Alex Pearson will probably go 152 or 145 next year

Justin Lampe and Ian Kahl finished 1st and 2nd at middleschool state in the 103 lb weight class and should be factored somewhere in the rankings mix.  I don't know if either or both of them will be able to stay down at 103 for their freshman year, but they will be a factor at 112 if they can't.

Rankings look good dude.

I don't see why you bother with the state duals rankings since we all know they're gonna be snowed out again.

Good point.  Maybe Mother Nature should be #1.

Good point.  Maybe Mother Nature should be #1.

Her son "Cold Mizer" should be #2.

Someone needs to get "Mr Cold Mizer" on their mat so he can beat "Cold Mizer" next year.  8-)

Chris Guilbeau, 12th at 189 should be ranked

He pinned Zach Mayton from Daviees and almost beat Austin Piper, who was his only region loss. He got hurt right before regionals. I think he beat the kid from Meade too but im not 100% sure

David Sahms is probably going 112

Tim Nikolao is coming back from injury at 215, he almost beat Zimi John two years ago, but got pinned off of a mental error while having a 10 point lead. If Tyler Nikolao can beat Zeb White, so can Tim

Oh and Zach Green should be above Sean McIntosh, I dont think he has ever lost to him

WOW!!

Does it ever cease?

Hey Rang!  Ya get all that?  :-o

Almost beating somebody means absolutely NOTHING

I know. I almost won the lottery.

Almost beating somebody means absolutely NOTHING

I agree and im usually the first to say so, I bring up Tim's match because I believe the score was something to the likes of 13-2 Tim, I dont know cause I wasnt there. But he got hot-headed and pulled Zimi on top of him while trying to finish a single leg. I dont see him making that type of mistake again. Im not guranteeing his victory over Zimi John or anything like that.

FCHS Wrestling I have talked with Ranger about it. Come down on your posts.

Ranger, I think Kyle Terry should be moved to 1st after his big win over Kyle Ruschell this weekend  :-D

Ranger, I think Kyle Terry should be moved to 1st after his big win over Kyle Ruschell this weekend  :-D

That was big, but I think it was a fluke.  If he wants to come over to my place and beat him down on the purple mat in the basement then I'll give him the spot.

Jeron Trice 160 can't wrestle because of his age just to inform you guys.

kyle terry beat kyle ruschell like the ncaa kyle ruschell?

Yes, but it was the NCAA Kyle Terry that beat the NCAA Kyle Ruschell, not the KHSAA Kyle Terry.    8-)

This Kyle Terry wrestles for the University of Oklahoma.  He beat Kyle in a close match for third this past weekend at the NCAA Championships in Omaha, Nebraska.

Of Course. I was Jokin around  :-D

Can JJ Jude wrestle next year??

I hope that all Kentucky Wrestling fans were cheering for Kyle Ruschell during the NCAA Championships this past week.  It

Almost beating somebody means absolutely NOTHING

Yes it does.  It means you lost!

Can JJ Jude wrestle next year??

Yes, Jude will be eligible to wrestle all 4 years of high school!

just a heads up. i ate nothing but candy and cookies (this is no lie) for 5 days straight and still only weigh 159. i plan on being 152 next year

i would like to Know why you have troxell over terry at 135 terry beat him at state so wouldnt that make a differance??

i would like to Know why you have troxell over terry at 135 terry beat him at state so wouldnt that make a differance??

Very simple.  Troxell lost one match all year (to my knowledge), a close one to Terry.  He also had a win over the state champ Palmer.  It is about more than one match.  Terry did beat Troxell, but Terry also lost to Supe and Hitchings.  So based on your logic shouldn't Hitchings be #1?  Oh wait, he lost to Troxell.

thanks i was lost

Micah Crutcher at 189 pinned zach mayton early in like 1:15-1:20 at regional duals, then mayton beats crutcher at region tourny when he was vomitting 11-10 in the last 5 seconds thanks to wonderful refs. and zach is ranked 15th while crutcher is ranked 24th? but nice rankings ranger.

David: Ranger does a good job. don't sweat him, talk is cheap, prove you deserve to ranked higher on the mat next year.

It's funny how the comments from wrestlers never change about the rankings (shoulda, coulda, woulda, etc.).  I tell my guys not to worry about the rankings, other than they provide an idea of who to watch out for.  We have a team motto:  unrealized potential = regret.  Just because someone is ranked # this or that doesn't mean they will finish that well.  Just because there is potential doesn't mean it will be realized or accomplished.  When it all comes down to it, it is only what happens on the mat that matters, and beyond that, it is only what happens at state.  Work hard all season, but finish well.  Let Ranger handle the rankings, but do your best to give him something to talk about...

I would aslo add this.

At this time of year.  I'm certain Ranger has all the information he needs from last season.  It is useless to bring up what happened last season.  He already has that info.

The info he may need is the grades of wrestlers (if he has them incorrect) and what they are doing in the off-season.  And maybe an idea of what they are going to wrestle next year.

You can mention who they beat in summer tourneys, but don't count on it making a big difference in the rankings themselves.

152- Matt Brewer of Cooper was a Senior last year

Cooper will also have to replace the entire HS and MS coaching staff

Cote From north Hardin is going to be a 10th grader next year

Great ranking ranger.

Thanks for the hard work.

Chris Cory will be wrestling 125 next season not 119.

Brad Williams will be wrestling 119 not 125.

They are swiching weight classes.

Why are they having to replace both staffs?

I hate to be rude, but do you actually read anything on this site?  This has been discussed a thousand times.  One match will not win you a state title or even a medal.  Do you recall going 0-2 at state?

Go ahead, be rude. That's funny as heck.  :-D

u'll see

u'll see

hahaha. I bet Jo sticks you next time.

If he's even at 125 next year

I'v beat joe rup and he's 5th and Im 18th?

It looks like mongomery (UH) beat you and he is ranked 25th below you. Oh and Mcguire beat montgomery and he is ranked 24th below you.  Man maybe you should be 26th and Rupp 27th.  :-o :-o

Geesh  :x

I hate when people say stuff like that lmao.

I'm ranked 8th and I've been beat by the 22 ranked guy and the 24. Haha.

If you think you can beat them next year then do it. Rankings aren't much but I still like them lmao.

theyre fun to argue but useless in the long run

Just look at last year's state tournament, espically heavyweight

They only intimidate and the best arent intimidated

ive noticed sumtin the only ppl tht say sumthing about the rankings r the ones tht arent n like the top 8 dnt get me wrong im not callin anybody out cuz last year i used to say stuff to then i got 8th at state now i dnt say nuttin lol

Cody Reeser From Central Hardin will be Wrestling # 189 in the 2010/2011 year.

levi schafer moore will be wrestling next year probly 140

this is josh lopez nd i'm planing on  tryin to get back down to 125

Zach pitman from Pt has beat willy jenkinson from daviess pretty easily everytime they wrestled. Zach didn't do very well at state, but he had a partially torn mcl and couldn't shoot on with his dominant leg. not trying to give excuses, but thats a preety hindering injury.

I agree that Zach should go higher or Willy lower. I think the reason Willy Jenkinson is ranked that high is because of his upset at state, but he also got in that position by getting 4th at regionals where Zach got 2nd. But pretty much if he doesnt deserve the spot it will be noticable when the season starts

middle school things dont transfer in to high school rankings i place 4th in middle school that didnt help my HS rankings at all once u hit freshman year like no one knows who u are until you do something great or if u r related to someone really good the have to earn there spot on the rankings all over again

Written from English class?

I would also add that this years middle school state was not as competitive as the last 2 middle school state tourneys.  In the last few years there were a lot of middle school state placers that qualified for the high school state tourney in the same year.

So yes I think that this years middle school state placers will need to prove themselves next year as freshman before they get some love on the high school rankings.

Jesus Rosado is going 119 next season

I'd take Lampe or Kahl on my team.  Both will do some good things next year and should be at state.  The only problem I see is if Kahl gets stuck behind one of the Fahy's.  By the way the name Lampe should probably sound familiar to you.  The kids going to be good.

both lampe and kahl are very tough wrestlers, they will excell at whatever weight this they decide to go

Of course, this is my hometown school  :-P, but I think Franklin County is low at #34.  They lose Gardner, Bruning, Wright and Marston, but most of the lineup this year were Freshmen and the middle school progrma is strong.

Josh Lopez should be ranked #1 at 130, though he will probably be 135 or 140 in 2010-11.  State runner up as a freshman at 125.  I don't think he has lost a match in the off-season.

didnt josh lopez get pinned at horsepower spring tourny?

not in his folkstyle weight class he pinned both those kids

Josh works hard, don't be a stumbling block for him!

There is a reason he is ranked where he is.

I was impressed by Lopez. Having younger guys coming in now and in the future doing so well can only help with the state of Kentucky on the national level. Good luck to everyone next year, lets hope for no more off season injuries

Can't Wait to get back on the Mat again. Wrestling season needs to hurry up and get here!!

Zach pitman from Pt has beat willy jenkinson from daviess pretty easily everytime they wrestled. Zach didn't do very well at state, but he had a partially torn mcl and couldn't shoot on with his dominant leg. not trying to give excuses, but thats a preety hindering injury.

i agree that zach has beat me every time we wrestled, and he probably should be ranked above me, but none of them were very easily one was by 1 point, zach is a great wrestler though, and im guessing since i did beat a number 1 seed at state is why im ranked higher, i have no idea why, but i will probably be a 140 next year anyway, and i bet alot of these guys will to, so these rankings dont really matter that much, atleast not to me

Does anyone know for sure if Justin Lampe will follow is brother to St.X or will he go to another school? If he is indeed going to St.X, that is the reason he did not wrestle--most likely place--in high school states this year, as private schools are not allowed to use middle school wrestlers.

justins goin to st.x i was jus at lampes house 2day workin out, i swear johns lik a machine lol
