Anybody have any predictions on Region 1 this season???
Region 1 Predictions

Well for one thing you will lose at Regions haha
But pretty much Union is the runaway winner with UHA, Christian, Ohio, and Fort Campbell all chasing behind.
I don't want to make anymore predictions until I see UHA wrestle this year
Well for one thing you will lose at Regions haha
you wish lol
And I feel the same way
they better be on the lookout for Fort Campbellwood. I hear those guys are beasts
Ohio co won the Harrison Co. Invitational on 12/4/10 then Apollo & Ft. Campbell on 12/9/10. We have a full team now & If nobody gets hurt we should be real strong by region. Keep an eye on us.
What weight is Monnie Brown wrestling this year???
What weight is Chase Boone wrestling this year? I know he's been going 119 a little but wonder if that's hust temporary and going back to 112 later on?
I've talked to chase and his dad several times and it seems like right now the general consensus is that he'll stay at 119. It has nothing do with brock or fahy or anything like that. He basically said that at this point there's no reason for him to cut to 112 when he can eat fairly well and be just as strong a contender for a state title at 119.

Ya if he was going 119 I figured that would be the reason. My point was he wrestled John Fahy in the finals Brock plays no factor in his weight choice. Plus Chase is strong enough to be a 125 let alone a 119
Any predictions for finals matches?
Any predictions for finals matches?
If there is one thing I can say about Region 1 it is that the only thing you can predict about the finals this early in the year is that Union will have alot of finalists
Who can challenge Union in the finals? I see them in the finals at 3, 12, 19, 25, 30, 40, 45, 52, 60, and 215. Chance of who shows up at 71 and 89 and 35. Blackwell, Ervin, Wurth, Ervin, Carr, Thomas, Brummett, Ervin, Risinger, Buckman in the finals
Well right now it looks like the finals will be something like this
103: Blackwell Union vs Gilkey Caldwell
112: Ervin Union vs Killebrew Christian
119: Boone Ohio vs Wurth Union
125: Ervin Union vs Gagnon Tilghman
130: Carr Union vs Polley Christian
135: Thomas Union vs Jenkinson Daviess
140: Hall UHA vs Wynne Tilghman
145: Brummett Union vs Pitman Tilghman
152: Ervin Union vs Urban UHA
160: Risinger Union vs Armstrong Daviess( I've heard he may not be wrestling?)
171: Borneman UHA vs Jordan Hop
189: piper Union vs Mayton Daviess
215: John Apollo vs Buckman Union
285: Pate Christian( I've heard he may not be at heavyweight) vs woods fortcampbell
Well right now it looks like the finals will be something like this
103: Blackwell Union vs Gilkey Caldwell
112: Ervin Union vs Killebrew Christian
119: Boone Ohio vs Wurth Union
125: Ervin Union vs Gagnon Tilghman
130: Carr Union vs Polley Christian
135: Thomas Union vs Jenkinson Daviess
140: Hall UHA vs Wynne Tilghman
145: Brummett Union vs Pitman Tilghman
152: Ervin Union vs Urban UHA
160: Risinger Union vs Armstrong Daviess( I've heard he may not be wrestling?)
171: Borneman UHA vs Jordan Hop
189: piper Union vs Mayton Daviess
215: John Apollo vs Buckman Union
285: Pate Christian( I've heard he may not be at heavyweight) vs woods fortcampbell
103- I don't think Gilkey is gonna be making 103, I would put Asa Odoms from Christian
112- Could be a super match of Boone and Ervin if Boone cuts down
119- Definately put David Sahms over Wurth here, or Willen if he makes the cut
125- Wade is probably gonna be here, put him over Gagnon
130- I don't think Kory Polley is gonna be at 130, I would put Saturley from UHA
135- ugh really nobody else who could go here
140- Colton Hall is going 145 I think i've been told, Cameron Montgomery is UHA's 140 here. I'd put Zach Green in the finals Ranger's rankings never give him justice he has wins over Sean McIntosh and Colton Hall, along with some tough kids from Tennessee. But if Keaton goes here forget everything I just said
145- If Brummet makes it here this looks good, but otherwise I am at a loss
152- No issues
160- That would be sad if Armstrong doesn't finish his career, didn't he move to Apollo?
171- Last I saw Jordan was at 189 and he got injured by Chris Guilbeau (cracked rib). Our new 171 has a shot here but so does alot of other 171s
189- I heard Piper wasn't wrestling and that Marlon Pate was cutting to here. If so I'd put Chris Guilbeau (beat Mayton) versus Marlon
215- Last I saw of Zimi he had lost alot of weight, I don't think he is going 215. Matt Woods from Fort Campbell might cut to 215
285- This looks good unless they both cut to lower weights then it is wide open with no returning placers
motgomery and hall are both cuttin down montgomery at 135 and hall at 140
145- If Brummet makes it here this looks good, but otherwise I am at a loss
If brummett doesn't make it will probably be pitman and Agnew from Caldwell, but he might go 40 as well
Wow heavyweight could end up a complete toss up.
Polley has been wrestling 140 and i might have went from 103 to 130 but i have beat everyone in reigon but union and uha

hmmm I wonder who this is haha. Polley was at 135 at Caldwell
who is oc103
I'm Guessing Jacob Bennett From Ohio County :roll:who is oc103
Well right now it looks like the finals will be something like this
103: Blackwell Union vs Gilkey Caldwell
112: Ervin Union vs Killebrew Christian
119: Boone Ohio vs Wurth Union
125: Ervin Union vs Gagnon Tilghman

215: John Apollo vs Buckman Union
285: Pate Christian( I've heard he may not be at heavyweight) vs woods fortcampbell
Watch out for Gahafer at 140 from Union and Sheffer at189 from union.
Piper moved to Crittenden.
I think pate was was 189 at Calloway county Duals the other day. I'm pretty sure I saw him there at 189.

Yes Pate cut to 189, he is probably gonna be facing Guilbeau from Fort Campbell in the finals. Does anyone know the story on Zimi John?
My ultimate Finals Predictions

130- Carr v. Bennett
135- Jenkinson v. Starks (I don't know if Starks is cutting here, I just hope he does)

145- Brummett v. Agnew
152- Ervin v. Urban
160- Risinger v. Grubbs
171- I'm gonna wait until later in the year, this weight looks weak

215- White v. Buckman
285- Woods v. Stapp
9 Finalists for Union
4 Finalists for Christian
3 Finalists for Ohio

I believe Thomas from Union is either at or cutting to 135 and Chad Gahafer or Spencer Hulett will take the place of140.

If that is the case then swap Keaton Thomas and Keaton Starks. I don't think Starks would bother making the cut just to face Keaton Thomas, if he even can make the cut

Yeah,
That looks pretty close to what I'd predict. Starks Told me he plans on staying at 140, willy jenkison however is at 145. If polley stays at 140 then that weight class is going to be a toss up. Whoever ends up getting 5th will probably be pretty good. I'd put pitman(assuming he comes back from injury) in the finals at 145 over Agnew and jenkison considering he has won the previous 2 times they wrestled that weight is going to be pretty stacked as well. Legaun grubbs is dropping to 152 as soon as the fat test allows. Which is next week I believe. But the rest looks pretty good. A lot of the weight classes look pretty cut and dried as far as who's going to be in the finals.

My assumption is that Polley is gonna be at 135, he was there at caldwell and it would be alot better for him since he would be in the finals at 135 as oppossed to potentially getting 5th at the toss up 140 is. I would still put Urban over Grubbs at 152 but barely. Robbie Sahms had a win over Grubbs but lost to Urban the one time they wrestled. I guess that puts Poston in the finals at 160
That's probably going to be the best semi at regionals. Legaun has improved a lot and is probably one of the strongest pound for pound wrestlers in the state.
Ill update my predictions after Christian County, hopefully my upset prediction holds true (Green over Hall)
Well here is my update to my Final's Predictions. Some of the weights are a little clearer except for 140 which is a total mess. My only personal predictions are Polley dropping down to 135 and Agnew staying at 145 because of the 140 issue, right now there are 5 guys who could win that region- Kory Polley, Justin Wynne, Kyle Bunch, Zach Green, and Colton Hall
103- Blackwell v. Gilkey
112- Ervin v. Killebrew
119- Wade v. Boone
125- Moore v. Ervin
130- Carr v. Bennett
135- Polley v. Thomas
140- Hall v. Bunch
145- Agnew v. Heywood
152- Ervin v. Urban
160- Risinger v. Poston
171- Crutcher v. Smith
189- Buckman v. Guilbeau (could very easily be Marlon Pate)
215- Zohn v. White
285- Woods v. Stapp (By consistency, but as we all know Heavyweight goes to whoever gets on top first)
Who is heywood at 145 and smith at 171?
Who is heywood at 145 and smith at 171?
Heywood is the fort Campbell kid who beat Keaton Starks. Willy Jenkinson or Kenny Brummet may beat him but I haven't seen them wrestle this year. Smith is union's 171 who I've heard isn't that bad for a freshman
K.Agnew is the real deal,I thought he was overrated at the start of the season, but after watching him wrestle several matches I have changed my mind completely.I agree 140 is a tossup.I believe B.Moore(Ohio) will give G.Irvin(union) a run for his money,if he wrestle smart and physical...
I haven't wrestled Gabe this year, but last year he only beat me by a takedown, while Billy Moore impressed me in our match and his match against David at Christian County, I can't wait for that match. Keegan is just a guy who gets better everytime I see him wrestle
HEY' FCHS-Wrestling What happen to your prediction( Green over Hall )??? Your painting a target on your teammates back.
HEY' FCHS-Wrestling What happen to your prediction( Green over Hall )??? Your painting a target on your teammates back.
To tell you the truth I had just forgotten about Hall, but I didn't want to look dumb and just look like I had confidence in my teammate
Everyone has it al backward on the 125 . If Gabe has a good match he will give billy a run for his money. Billy Moore has beat the #8,7,6, & pre#5 this year. It should be a great match if they both show up. Ranger 123 needs to watch this match for the 125 ranking.
B.Moore is getting better and stronger as season goes on, he will definitely be in the hunt for a region one championship. Also have noticed J.Bennett is doing very well in region at the 130 spot.
At 140 everyone look out for K . Bunch from O.C. Meade Co. & Calloway Tourny he went 15 & 0. He had 13 pins & 2 forfits. His record with green this year is 2 out of 3 & his record with wynny is 2 out of 3 . I hope this helps everyones region 1 pre results.
R. Bunch & J. Bennete are both looking at 130. O.C.
Pusher you have been paying close att. to whats been going on on the mat. Keep up the good work.

Gabe Ervin has improved a lot since last year I think he will put this match away, but it coulod be a good one. He's had a lot of experience in the last year.
Gabe is very good . It should be a good match up
Gabe is very good . It should be a good match up
Yes it should.
I'd say right now you have to put kenneth brummett in the finals at 145. He's a region champion and is projected to place at state and neither Agnew or hey wood have qualified.
Paducah Tilghman and Ohio Co. are both traveling to Union Co. Thursday Night for a duels match. If the snow don't fall and the creak don't rise.Maybe Union will bump up B.Irvin to 119. See a little Irvin / Boone action.
There won't be any bumping up for Brock with Jeffrey Wurth at 119. He's no slouch but Boone is tough.
does anyone know if kory polley has lost to anyone in the region this year?

Ya I didn't put Brummett in cause he has been out. But ive been told he is coming back this week. Anyone know what/where Jenkinson is doing?

I heard from one of his team mates isnt taking it very seriously anymore and has been skipping practices and tournaments.
Good luck to all the Ohio Co, PT, & Union Co wresters thursday night. should be a good region 1 Duals.
what are some interesting matchups for tomorrows duals? I know of Wurth and Boone at 119 and Risinger and Grubbs at 160 (This is risinger's first matches since the castle tournament dec. 4th)
Grubbs will be at 152 for Thursday.
Ok. Grubbs and Ervin :-D

Both potential Region finals matches
Ok. Grubbs and Ervin :-D
You coming?
I hope Ranger 123 pays att to a couple of wins Ohio Co. had against Union Co & 1 against PT last night.
#14 Billy Moore over #5 Gabe Ervin 11 to 2 with the 2 Points coming from penalties on moore.
#22 Eric Poston's 1:30 second pin over #4 Jake Risinger.
# 29 Kyle Bunch also pinned #14 Justin Wynne from PT. that makes him 3 for 4 against Wynne this year.
It was a great night of wrestling from all the boys from each team.
Correction not sure on Moore vs Ervin score but something like that.
I usually don't like excuses but have to chime in. Gabe is under the weather and almost didn't wrestle thursday. He teched b. Moore in their last meeting. Good win for Moore since he's underrated I guess. Oh and btw, the score was 6-2.
Chime in while the wind is still blowing pridewrestler. And the reason you probably dont like making excuses is because thats all they are EXCUSES . Still a good match from both boys.
and let ranger know that jake was winning like 10-0 1:00 into the match but oh well he got cought good match by both kids
Sorry your taking it so hard low single 103. But get over it OK. Union Co. can loose some matches 2. It will be OK tomarrow.
sorry to chime in during the middle of a heated debate. But just saying im gonna throw caution to the wind and do a Top 4 predicition in each weight class tommorow. I'll be going off the latest results so keep speculation to a minimum, but please if I have results wrong let me know

I like that quote. might have to use it sometime. Can't wait til regions.
I just wanted to let people know that it wasn't a complete blow out in jakes match.......but I still can't take away the fact that he did get pinned....lol and no matter what I say on here that isn't going to change the face that he got pinned.

Risingers been out for 2 months.
HE had the kid in a cradle and rolled him to far and got flipped on his back. That kid was beat.
I'm going to clear this up, even though 103 and pride already tried.
I'm not sure ubt i do think Gab was feeling bad, but no sure... Moore wrestled good though.
Jake Risinger was up like 10-0 and doninating the kid in the 1st minute, he got the kid in a cradle and jake rolled to hard and flipped on his back. This is how he got pinned.
Don't worry about Jake he will be ready at the end of the season. He's been out a while so it takes some time to get back into the rhythm of things. End the end he'll be right were he suppose to be, on top in the Region.
Was that jakes first match of the yr
no first match since dec 4 i believe its posted in the previous comments
I misunderstood this before. I apologize for my foolish statement. Thank you for correcting me. I should have payed closer att. Sorry again to 103 & Pride.
So what if Risinger was up 10-0. That's one of the great things about wrestling, if your opponent makes one mistake the match can be over. But despite that Risinger will probably win if they face each other again
no first match since dec 4 i believe its posted in the previous comments
You are correct, i think it was then.
I just remember it was against Castle.
