What happened to Elkhorns 75lber?
He wasn't there. I heard he was suspended from the team but not sure.
Looks like the Walton is improving a bit knocking off a strong Harrison and Gray team. Any tough individual match ups that will be seen again at State? Looks like Campbell and North Hardin are coming on strong as usual.
Gray did not have their 'A' lineup there. Of 'A' guys that were there all but one competed at a weight class above their own.
Raider - thanks for clarifying that for all of us. Can't just give the kids a little credit where it's due? Who was missing from their "A" team?
Credit is definitely due. Not taking anything away from all the little raiders that turned bearcats. I assume a lot of them will be back with Ryle when they reach High School. This event was scheduled as JV Tourney for Gray. However, over the beak the numbers dropped at practice drastically. Gray wanted to send a full lineup so they filled in with their varsity guys. 6 or 7 varsity guys wrestled out of 15 weights. 5 or 6 of those wrestled up a weight.
KYCoach - shouldn't you change your name to KYRef? By the way, we have seen you once this year as a ref. Good Job. Glad to see some more guys that know the sport getting into reffing.
You know, that might be a good user name to change that to. Hard to change old habits though. Thanks for the words of encouragement. It's a little different ref'ing than coaching.
It is always great to see more and more kids wrestling these days and new programs popping up all over the state. Good luck kids.
