Dear State Leader,

USA Wrestling would like to extend the opportunity to train at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to those athletes who have yet to qualify for Funded Access. There are a limited number of spots available for the two upcoming training camps, so if you have athletes in your state who you would like to be part of this, please inform Ike Anderson by Friday, February 25th of such athletes.

The camps will cost non-Funded Access athletes $315 – this includes room and board at the OTC for the duration of the camp. The camp dates are March 20-27 and March 27-April 3. The camps will focus on Olympic style wrestling development, and will also include classroom and weight room sessions, as well as sports nutrition education. The wrestlers should arrive on the first day of the camp (either March 20th or 27th, depending on which camp) and depart on the last day of the camp (March 27th or April 3rd). For those wrestlers who will be flying into Colorado Springs, airport shuttle service is provided to the OTC free of charge.

Wrestlers who are considered Funded Access have placed in the top 5 at the 2010 Junior Nationals (FS/GR), or top 4 at the 2010 FILA Junior Nationals (FS/GR), 2010 Cadet Nationals (FS/GR), and 2010 FILA Cadet Nationals (FS/GR). If a wrestler placed in the top 2 at the 2010 Junior Folkstyle Nationals, the wrestler is also Funded Access.

We understand that this is short notice, but with the expanded opportunity through the US Olympic Committee, we hope that wrestlers in your state will be able to take advantage of this unique opportunity. Again, space in the camps is limited, so please contact Ike Anderson at 719.265.3630 or at [email protected].
