murton or ruschell

Topic ID: 782 | 24 Posts

whos the better of the two

murton: 3 timer beat some great wrestlers from kentucky and nationally ranked oppents some from ky are jordan lewis, brandon howard, joey sanders, josh ashbrook palces at the beast of the east and won the nitro tournament

ruschell: 2 timer beat soem of the best from ky to and placed at senior nationals he beat lewis, sullivan, warner, bryant, and stacey miller

ruschelle

Kyle Rushelle hands down.

This one is hard. Murton dominated for 3 years with the only close match with Jordon his Soph. year, but Murton still controlled the match. Murton's Jr. year Smith had a decent 1st period or at least first minute, but still out classed.

Ruschell on the other hand had 3 great years. pinned or teched his senior year. Pinned his Jr. year throgh the state.

His Soph. year he lost in the finals by 1 and the only other close match was in the semi's winning 7-3.

Ruschell was overlooked because of him being in a lighter wt. class much the same as Sullivan is now.

I give Ruschell the slight edge on his feet. Murton gets the nod on top slightly. Not sure how well they are on the bottom neither was there long enough.

Given this if Ruschell can take Murton down a couple of times he may be able to win.

If Murton gets on top he may be able to get a tilt and wear Rushell out.

Either way I would like to see the match.

Yeah, both are real good. That would be a fun match to see, if they were the same weight.

Murton and Ruchell are a close one but they where in every seperate weight classes. They both never really had any top kids in there wieght classes . yes murton had aliitle competition with lewis a state camp but as you see you cant jump 2 or 3 weight classes and expect to win it again unless you are just great. Oldam countys 1003 state state found that out.

Ruchell was just always little and couldn't find and comp in the state but he did place at seniors, and there you are challenged by kids of your caliber. so i would have to give the edge to Ruchell.

ruschell is a great standup wrestler who dominated everyone in the state on there feet and i think he is one of the greatest to ever come threw here his shots were well set up and his finishes where unstopable but i think murton was great from his feet to and he didnt keep it on his feet long enough to have to show much he would take them down and beat on them from the top postion i dont know if ruschell could take murton down as easy as others but i know that murton could turn ruschell and get his backs maybe not pinned cause people like kyle dont get pinned but murton would score backs and if thy where at the same wieght i would have to take murton he was just that good i think and he killed the #1 sophmore in the nation on there feet and on top from what i have heard the kid balled up and cryed so i would say the final score would be murton 9-3 over ruschell cause he owuld dominate on the ground

I have got to know both kids and they are both great wrestlers as well as great people. I would give this match to Ruschell and i think he would beat murton 8 times out of 10 because you can see somehting when Ruschell wrestles, he never goes anyting but FULL speed. Also Ruschell is in the Big 10 and it is prolly the toughest conference in college wretsling and Wisconsin is a Div. 1 school. Ruschelle already has one year of college experience on Murton so My vote goes to Ruschell.

So put Jac Murton on a Big ten team this year with one year experience and then pick :?:

It will be one heck of a match

Murton was offered from a lot of Division 1 schools such as: Wisconsin, Lehigh, and many other schools he just said that the out of state tuition was a lot and chose to go to Campbellsville with his brother.

usually when a school gives you an offer to play for an athletic team it's for a scholarship, otherwise they wouldnt say "hey, come pay for our school so you can wrestle here"

Interesting topic. These are the two most recent national caliber wrestlers to come through KY. Kyle and Murton probably weigh almost the same now; Kyle is around 145 and I'd say Jacob is somewhere around there too. I'd take Kyle by a slight margin

Usually. But when its Wisconsin with wrestling, just being allowed to wrestle for them is enough.

I dont think he was offered a full ride so the remainder of the tuition plus the cost of bein out of state probably outweighed the cost of going to Cambellsville.

Just because Robert Smith couldn't beat Murton doesn't mean that everyone from eastern has to carry a grudge against him forever. Come on, get over it and give one of the greatest in KY history the credit he deserves.

For my pick, I'll ride the fence. I say 5-5 over the ten matches. I give Ruschell the edge on their feet and Murton the edge on the mat.

I don't hold a grudge aginst Murton, I just stated my opinion and there's no need to assume it's just cuz im from eastern. The question was "Murton or Ruschelle" and I said Ruschelle. I never said anything about Robert Smith

i think robert smith ios gone out of the ppicture and there shouldnt be any grudges against him he was a great wrestle who was to locked up with pride to go up to forty and win his title but iw will give it tot him he isnt scared to wrestle anyone and is one of the better wrestlers to come threw and god luck to him in college

he is going to wrestle for St. Louis- Meramec. He left Campbellsville even though he beat their starter for his weight

Kyle out of 100 matches he wins 100 no contest.

Kyle out of 100 matches he wins 100 no contest.

Kyle is good, but so is Jacob. I couldn't really even tell you who would win but I would definitely give more chance than 0% to Murton in 100 matches. That's just unrealistic

Hey don't show any prejudice for your fellow Region 6.

If I had to give an edge I may go with ruschell, but out of 100 matches he only wins 51-55. And I'm still not sure about that. All I know is that its a match I would like to see.

I wish I was a freshman last year to see Kyle. I've seen how awsome Murton but I've never got to see Ruschell.

Sorry for showing the prejudice but it was a bit of exageration...but Kyle is good, Kyle is better IMO. I think Murton deserved better shot then CU and thats not downing CU at all...I think he is better then NAIA atleast D1-AA. Kyle is at a Big Ten school and put up big stats for a Red Shirt Freshmen. Maybe they will meet at a open tournament next season. Chris Seta from CU wrestled Knable from IU at Missouri Open this year and beat him 5-3....So maybe we will get lucky it will be a great close match.

i would have to say kyle wins 70-80% of the matches. murton is an excellent wrestler, but kyle dominated almost everyone he wrestled in kentucky after his sophmore year
