The St. X wrestler listed is actually a weight class above. Tell him to keep working hard and maybe we will see his name in the future.

My opinion, Nathan Darland should be ranked at 126 and he is dropping to 120/122 after Christmas so he will be even better there, Darland should be ranked top 15 and so should Jordan Doyle both from woodford

In my opinion Conner Wilkerson at 112 will a tough match between him and Trae Blackwell. Chad goodrich at 170 will be really good this year and he will have. Tough time this year keeping that number one ranking position. In all honesty the top four at state this year should probably be Larue, Ryle, Union and Woodford not in that order.

I saw where Robert Smith (UNIO) cannot go 106 but, Blackwell can. Any chance Trae drops down?

the 285 Division has some people not there: Lawrence from St. X was a senior last year, and quite a few heavies are not on rosters, might want to get some feedback from this as well.....Plus I have heard that Carmen from larue may be going 195 as well as Davis from Jeffersontown 195 as well maybe 220, and no signs from Glass from Holy Cross, and Caudill from Oldham and Deaton from PCC........would be a big shake up with all this moving

I imagine Wilkerson has improved.....He is a darn good little wrestler.....I saw Blackwell at Super 32 going against the baddest cat in the land.....he held his own and kept on coming....that boy can "scramble"....plus he has the best in practice partners....He's got Brock !

I was told that Trae and Brock don't wrestle each other cause they get so mad at each other, I can't tell you for sure if it's true or not.

I can attest to that!

Haha personally I have no issues with an aggressive room, but that's just what I was told. For me a good practice is when I want to knock out my partner during hand fighting.

Guess brothers do not wrestle each other where they are from because its all out the most intense wrestling possible.

So far from perusing the nwca scorebook I have a couple things of note for Region 1. Logan Frank 125 from Daviees is not on the roster, Michael Kennedy 160 from Ohio is on the roster but hasn't wrestled a match yet, Zach Mayton 189 from Daviees is not on the roster, Cory Curtis 145 from Daviees is at 160, Justin Wynne 140 from Paducah is at 145 and lost Keagen Agnew, and there is more minor roster stuff but I have homework to do.

I don't know all the KHSAA rules but I was under the impression that if a student transfers to a new school the student had to sit out a year. I know there had been a big hoopla over that in basketball a few years back. I have no idea if that is correct or not, just what my understanding was. Someone more knowledgable may be able to chime in.

I am quite sure that if the Meyer boys are at Ryle, they will make sure they are abiding 100% by the KHSAA guidelines. Guess we will find out tomorrow night given the Big CC and Ryle showdown.

Well its been a couple years since I have coached (after being a successful assistant coach and referee for 20 years) I am glad to see the sport has grown through youth participation. Ranger you have done a great job being a fan and strong supporter of the sport. Trust me I know how hard it is to do rankings and accurately gauge competition. One day soon Ill be back on the mat coaching and will be debating all the topics on here soon (probably next year) A couple of insights

#1 I hope this site doesnt become a platform for one family

#2 I have been an advocate for youth wrestling for years, its great to see its finally paying off

#3 Too bad we have to put up with renegades from other states that see KY as lesser competition

Myers /Hollin..that was a great match that launched the freshman straight into the #1 spot at 195 .

Seriously it was an awesome match even though it was one sided scoring wise.

And speaking of Rankings ,Ryle just beat Campbell County in their Dual even though both looked like they were missing some hitters very close came down to the Heavy match.

DeSales 138 pinned Eastern's this past weekend at Central. Belived he also pinned kid from John Hardin the week prior.

New Rankings after the holidays?

Yeah Im hoping for ranger clause to have new rankings for the holidays.

Pushy,pushy,pushy! This isn't Rangers full time job, and he certainly doesn't get paid to do the rankings. Just have a little patience. I'm sure when gets off from work, finishes practice, takes care of his responsibilities at home, and visits with his family, he will get your precious rankings done. JEEZ!

These rankings, though very good, do NOT have any bearing on seeding for the state tourney -- even though I do know coaches rely on them for region tourneys.

Ranger does this of his own volition. No one is paying him to do this, so be patient. I'd like to see some updated rankings as much as the next guy, but I understand how busy Ranger is and has been this season.

Josh you are correct, they have "NO" bearing for the state tourney! They also have "NO" bearing on the region tournament, its all about head to head mach-ups, commom opponents or a coin flip... LOL I do like Ramgers rankings as they are pretty accurate for the regular season. When State comes around in EVERY weigh class many 10-15 rankin's stand on the podium!!!

Another point to bring up is that when it comes down to predictions nobody on this site can beat Ranger. Come the end of the year as much as you may disagree with what he said, he will most likely end up right. Back when I was younger and even more foolish then I am now I tried to argue up kids I know. One year I was right one time out of maybe 10 cases I argued. Now sit back, enjoy the banter, and wait patiently for our beloved Ranger to bless with new rankings
