Well, it took a while, but I finally got an update out. I still have a ton of results to get through, so this is far from perfect (and I never claim to be perfect anyway). My goal is to post an update next weekend (likely late Sunday night) to reflect all of the results I have at that point.

Just a side note, I am going through results in a somewhat organized manner. So I really haven't evaluated some of these guys much as I haven't dissected all of their stuff. So if you are really concerned about someone send me a note to make sure I have all of their results. Then if I am way off after next weekend start hammering me.
Great job Ranger. I think you gave us what we were all waiting for...change.
160 lb division...really? This should provide some much needed motovation, thanks

Kegan Agnew has beat jerry haywood and justin whynn 3 or more times and kory polley is at 145 bt meade upset him the semi finals and turned around and upseted kegan agnew in the finals bt kegans record is 18-1
I feel Meiman should be ranked higher at 152. This 8th grader that qualified for high school state last year should be a bit higher. We all know he walked through middle school state last year, and Vegas has him as a repeat this year. I know it is hard for anyone to rank a 8th grader in the top 10 in high school, unless your name is Hall, but lets call a spade a spade. This kid will make alot of noise. Period.....
The 95 from eastern is not Stephan kenworthy, it's dhananjay arora who places 6th at woodford

Have you looked at what he had done? He lost to a kid from Dixie (not ranked) and didn't do well at GMV where SK won a couple of matched and CC placed. (Not a top 10 candidate at this wt. class)
Just wondering what the criteria was to be ranked. I was surprised Central Hardin's Heavyweight was not ranked. He beat #3 DeSales and some other ranked guys. All of his losses have been extremely close. Is it based on win-loss record, who he beats, or some other criteria. Thanks.
Logan Erdman defeated Kyle Edlin in the Raider Rumble Finals 9-6.

Good question. It is more who he beats. The problem is the sport of wrestling has historically had little to no reporting of results, so that data is limited unless it is given to me by a trusted source or I find it online. Trackwrestling may remedy this going forward, but I have been short on time to review all of the results posted out there. Once I see those results of beating the ranked opponents then I'm sure he will make the cut next week.
For our results, you are welcome to follow us on Twitter: @UC_Wrestling You have to search for it exactly how I typed it (Caps U and C, underscore, Caps W) or it won't show up when you search.
Nelson Countys 220 and 285 look really good suprised neither are ranked. Their 220 took 1st in the Fern Creek Gladiator Tourney this past weekend, and their 285 took second beating your number 16 Gabe Lord twice to get there.

90% of heavy weight matches are "extremely close", both guys get a stand up. Winner is usually decided by one takedown to none.
Zach Morris from Dixie Heights is the kid who beat Meiman. He also had a hell of a match against Jones at the beginning of the year only losing by a couple of points.
How did Lafayette 120 just get ranked but not Eastern who beat him at WCI?
Easy there. Ranger has said he hasnt gone through all of the results yet, his rankings Sunday will be a little more on Target.
Let me put one huge caviat out there. There are only so many results posted. Contrary to what many think, I am not sitting in every gym each Saturday watching every high school match. If they aren't posted somewhere or on trackwrestling, they likely won't be reflected here.
How is John Stout ranked higher then Omar Jarvis. When Omar beat him when the wrestled at the Lafayette tournament 11 to 7. The score wouldnt have been that close but Omar let him up I think 2 or 3 times.
Keep up the good work Ranger, I hope no one truly believes any one person can keep up with every wrestler at every weight class in the state, most of the people asking this and that seem focused on one or two particular people. I'm sure if thats all you had to keep up with it be easy as pie. I dont think its a single person who can do the job as well with the resources available. Thanks Ranger, it is appreciated.
Wow Ranger you can;t win can you.
1st people complain about not having any new rankings then when you post them and explain that you posted without all the information researched, you get bombarded by everyone who has a wrestler on a team.
All I want to know is who is the top in each wt. class. How YOU order them is not very important to me. But the research on who is at what wt. class and who is doing well at each wt. class is extremely valuable information.
Keep up the good work there Texas RANGER.
GOO out.
Great Job Ranger and thanks for the hard work you put into this. I also do know of one coaching staff that uses your rankings and view them as invaluable come state duals time.
Just chiming in on the thanks... I appreciate all your work
That's our job as members on this site to comment and keep ranger up on what's going on around the state. I think it makes his job a little easier.
No harm intended... Sometimes we get a little over zealous for a kid or two that we think is a stud. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the reply. Thanks for putting these rankings up even if there are differences of opinion. Besides Central Hardins's heavyweight, I was impressed with Danville's heavyweight. I'm surprised he's not ranked higher.
good job ranger and i wanted to say that kegan agnew beat gabe irven 7-2
I will be posting all of our results from the Caldwell Co. and Ohio Co. Duals very soon in the results page. For those who are curious, Blackwell and Boone did not wrestle. Boone did not weigh in.
Willen messed up Boone's right knee in the finals at Christian County Invite.
kortland maguire from meade beat them both at cci and hes 30-3Kegan Agnew has beat jerry haywood and justin whynn 3 or more times and kory polley is at 145 bt meade upset him the semi finals and turned around and upseted kegan agnew in the finals bt kegans record is 18-1
Maguire was down like 14-1 to polley then just got a lucky head trap
Danville's Rhodes Bell lost twice in the Region 2 Duals -- to LaRue County's Caleb Canter and Central Hardin's Cody Floyd.
Fort Knox's Steven Traylor has bumped up to 170, and North Hardin's Kyle Shults is at 113 now.
Justin Wynne, paducah tilghman is at 138. Agnew has been wrestling good all season with a 24-1 record at 145. Trae beat JJ Killebrew. Christian county has a nice squad.
just the weight class to bump up to 170???..,!!!!!Danville's Rhodes Bell lost twice in the Region 2 Duals -- to LaRue County's Caleb Canter and Central Hardin's Cody Floyd.

nick waits is 24-3 this year
key wins: 25 haziel lopez (maj), 23 jonah shacklet (pin), 18 kolton hangsen (tech), 15 zach perry (pin), 9 jordon doyle (min)
losses: 21 jared whitlock (min), 3 lane jones (min), (160) 2 wyatt courtney (min)
two more key wins for nick waits
(160) 18 blake o'neil (pin), (145) 21 mikey smith
just the weight class to bump up to 170???..,!!!!!
Say what?
Don't know why he would bump up a weight class unless it was only for the duals.
Thanks for the work you put into the rankings! I have to say regional duals at larue were interesting. Anderson County as a team looked tough! I was also impressed with the 195 from Anderson Kaelin and NH Parrott. Ray and Newberry from larue always look tough and fun to watch. Bell from danville looked off his game a disappointment there, but no doubt he will be back. Danville's heavyweight Porter looks strong and he's quick. He beat the heavy from CH twice now and beat larue heavy with no problem. Where was House in the heavy division? Oh and TW Stockton is one tough kid. I think Stockton, Bell, Porter, and Kaelin all won titles at the WCI too. Strong region!
Chris Baxter of Scott County won first at 145 @ Tates Creek Inv.
Beat Jordan Tucker 11th @ 138, Josh Phillips 22nd @ 145, and Ing from Spencer Co @145 in finals. Ing beat TJ Schuyler 16th @145 in the semis.
he went 170 at region duals, tsnami duals at meade and one other tournament
Guys this is coming from someone else who posts rankings but on a FAR smaller scale then Ranger. These things are often only as good as the results known. I handle one region and I have to scour the internet to find maybe 20% of the scores I need. I could never dream of trying to do what Ranger does, let alone be as accurate as he often is.
Hey Ranger, I heard Heavy Weight Arron House is no longer wrestling.

I have to agree with all the above. Anderson County look Solid!!! Bell Was for sure not on his game. Porter is a major contender. I heard T.w Stocked has been training all summer with one of the danville Coaches and looks like it has paid off.
When will you have an updated listing? Sean Barrett (ranked 10 in the 182 division) beat Justin McDaniel (ranked 3) TWICE this past Saturday at the Jefferson County Tournament of Champions. I was anxious to see what each of their new rankings would be.
Also #15 Aaron Dyche from Manual stuck Sean Barret in about 20 seconds or less. When will you have an updated listing? It was actually 33 secs I believe. Also Southern is ranked lower than St X (as teams) and St X came in 2nd in the JCTC Tournament. I was just wondering if either of the losses would affect the rankings.
20 seconds, 33 seconds, not that big of a difference. St. X always shows up at state so i fully expect them to be ahead of southern once the finals are over.
also im told a bunch of guys were not in the right weight class.................because of hunter french and noah bauer were both not wrestling at jctoc
wheres quicy page at from walton hes been doing preety good just keep a good eye out for him when high school state comes around
You also have to remember that Trinity wasn't there so that would have changed the outcome some of the team scores, especially at the 138, 152, 195 and 220 weights. I think Southern gained the most points with those individuals not there so it's kinda hard to rank a team just based on that tournament. I am sure Ranger will look at several tournaments, Southern did good at the KOB too, I don't know what teams were there but it will all be considered I am sure.

I think Southern is a good team, a really good dual meet team especially (IE they fill all the weight classes with some level of quality) I believe thatt they can out place ST X at state duals but will fall behind them at Individual State. I could even see a possible top 4 placing at State Duals for Southern if the right draw comes out
I have seen southern. I don't think they can compete with larue, trinity, union, Campbell. They might have a full team but those squads have too much horsepower for southern to handle. They are a fairly new team so I am.impressed with their improvement over the years but squeaking into a top 4 at state duals will be tough on their part. Would like to see them pull off a few upsets tho which i think they are capable of!
I agree UK , but the right draw and a little luck, and Southern has had a team now for 18 years
Lol I don't know who I was thinking about then. I don't even remember seeing southern when I wrestled a few years ago. But I agree 100%, that right draw and those few upsets and bam you have a recipe for a good tournament showing.

Since Ranger includes his guess on duals, this is on topic.
In all sports, we hear the phrase "getting to the next level". I think that is where Southern is relative to the teams you mention.
1)You have to have a full team to compete.
2) You have to have a champion in the room. (I don't know that Southern has that)
3) If that champion has any leadership ability, it makes everybody in the room better and that is the next level for the Trojans IMHO.
You can coach him up to his full potential and he can work his tail off but, here's a universal truism: There is nothing more powerful in a young person's life than peer pressure.
4) Build a tradition. Then you go from fielding a team to having a program.
Tiltfor3 way to put thinks in persective.
I dont think there is a state champion in Southerns room, They have had one recently but, they have come light years with out a middle school feeder, now that they have a good coach and assistants. As for champions in the room I have coached teams where the leader wasnt the state champion but a kid that had the will of one but not the natural ability of one. Peer leadership is huge in a teenagers life. I have coached state champions and all american soccer players that were great but prefered to be a great player and not a leader, they were great kids but prefered not to have the leadership role. A champion doesnt make a leader and not every leader has to be a champion. but a team cant win with out both
Every great program has a great feeder system too.
Another key is that usually results in having a good practice partner.
John Green 145 from Lafayette pinned bot Corey Macall and Marshall Aiken at Region 7 Duals....You bumped him off the list ???....Jacob Marshall, Lafayette also beat the Woodford kid at 152.......both need to be ranked without a doubt ! ........Raphael Vasquez Lafayette should be Top 15 as well at 138.

Green beat an injured McCall by dec., not pin, McCall was basically wrestling on one leg trying to help the team in a close dual. See WCI for accurate results on McCall and Green when McCall was healthy. He will be healthy again soon.

I think he pinned him and Aiken too....Oh well, could be wrong.......Sure looked like Mcall was fine after he took an injury time out and breather.....Green worked him......Just my opinion.....and Marshall dominated Doyle....no question about it !

Yeah, you are wrong. Decision not pin. The match can be viewed here. www.prepspin.com
new rankings before dragon
I heard Ranger's new rankings were pending the Meyer Boys situation getting cleared up so they can be calculated into both the State Duals and Individual results; it will make a big difference for a couple schools in contention for the top spots in both events....
Q: Has Campbell County got the Water, Electrical and Cable hook-ups established for the RV?
Either way, I hope the boys get to wrestle someplace, as everyone has said.
Talked to Fort Knox's Steven Traylor today, and he is staying at 170 the rest of the season.
.

Thats funny .... I don't care who you are
Justin Wynne was at 138 at Tilghmans duel against Union. He won handily, but He didnt wrestle Gahafer just some jv kid i think.
David Sahms bear dillow from Anderson 6-2. Lost to Franklin county 7-5 in finals.
Didn't realize bear was a verb now, sounds impressive. Both matches were at 132
Bear has always been a verb, as in " the right to bear arms."
Excuse my
Stupid auto correct on my ipad
Capitol City Classic: Anderson County looked strong! Sure, not all of their top guys finished first there, but they are tough as a whole. Stockton is a force! Boyle's Wade, Cope, and Sacco looked sharp. Danville's Bell is peeking at the right time! Danville's Heavyweight Porter is impressive with his agility and strength. Franklin County had a good showing. Western has some tough guys to watch. Overall, a good tournament. I look forward to seeing how the new rankings turn out.

You know what, you're right, I'm dumb. Way to kill my joke haha
Scotts 138 Robbins is out for the year. Tore his shoulder.
When are new rankings?
ranger i'm interested in the newrankings also. 113, 220 with st x shayne smiths drop in weight also 160 omars decisive victory over pledger, also the way 160 ended at the dragon, 126 with browns drop to 120, kahl had some wins over jesus, besienus and maybe1 more. if you are waitng on the myers go ahead and rank them eligible or not they are still in ky. many us of still believe they will be eligible anyway.
Hey Ranger, Josh Lopez is back for Franklin Co. as well. Should shake up 126 a bit. His first week back he beat D. Lanham in the finals. Other than looking a little out of shape, he controlled the whole match.
In response to Newbie's #42 post, just keep in mind that Central Hardin's HWT is only a Sophomore. He's placed 2nd in KOB, 3rd in North Invit, 3rd 0r 4th in Woodford Co. I love watching Danville's HWT wrestle, but the CH kid lost to Danville in a Double OT the first time w/ just beating him in a last second escape borderline out-of-bounds. And then a close one by 2 points the other time. The CH kid came in 6th in the State as a middle-schooler and definitely is no one to write off.

I saw that match!! lopez did a LOT of stalling because he was very out of shape.Ref did not/ call stalling witch is unfortunate.
I was up 9-3 in the first period hard to say that was stalling even though I was stalling at the end of the match it is a part of wrestling
