TJ v.s Brock

Wow be nice to see this match up this year. Fireworks I'm giving the edge to Ruchell much bigger kid, don't know if Brock can handle the strength.

Brock is something else, no way I see Brock losing, although not sure when he will be back at 100%

Great match to see, but i think Brock, 4 point match!

Will be a good match but I have to go with brock. What will some other good matches be?

going to be a good match but my money is on TJ by 5.

I'll take Brock by 6.

I feel like TJ will match up well against Brock. He does not break position and is tough to score on. I also think his size (granted I have not seen Brock this year but he is kind of short in stature espcially compared to TJ) he is very tall and lanky. TJ might be the toughest wrestler on top that I have seen this year. I think TJ slows the match down and scores from top and does not get taken down he wins by 2-4 points (in the semis...lol! gotta love the random draw)

I was thinking quarters no way a match like this could wait for the finals. Agree only thing is Brock is super good off his feet that's gonna be the catch in this match.

We somehow got lucky enough to see Carr vs terry last year in the finals ha.

I hope they are finalist and not see each other in a semifinals match

Couldn't have said it better myself. I think TJ wins.

i saw tj wrestle this weekend. now i am convinced that he can keep it close. after watching him against kahl i came away impress. thru the first period and half kahls strength was keeping the match even. then midway thru the match t j found a way to negate kahls strength. then he dominated from on top. So i think this will be one of the more intriguing matches at state. that being said i still have to pick brock by 1 or 2 points.

Tj by tech. Kidding. Going with Brock, hes been dominant since stepping foot on a varsity mat. Remember 2 years ago he controlled and pretty much Whooped up on Garth in the finals. People say tj improved, do yall not think Brock has either?

First and foremost, as a true fan of this sport that I love, I don't care who wins this match. I just hope I'm there when it goes down. This should truely be one that we will talk about for some time. Just a few more weeks, and all the talk will be laid to rest.

id like to see a brock and yenter rematch i feel like the results would be different this go round

This threads about TJ and Brock.

it was just stated above so i thought it would be appropiate to say something?

Im excited about this match i dont really care who wins but i think tj will pull off the win.

Anybody know how close it is in practice between Brock and Carr?

Yes

Yes

Tell us Mr. Buckeye, how does it go? You act like you know any awful lot about these two wrestlers. ;)

I'd say he probably should know a lot.

:D

There's no way Brock would lose to Ruschell. This match, in my opinion wouldn't be close. Union's wrestler's are on a whole other level than Ryle's.

Lol! That's just ignorant.

A little bias there BRAVE soul? The WHOLE union team is on another level than Ryle.

I would say that Ryle at the very least has a schedule equal if not superior than Unions schedule. Both teams have the luxury of crossing the river and competing in another state. However I believe that Ohio is superior than any of the states Union can cross into. And Ryle along with Simon and Campbell spend 80-90% of their schedule in Ohio.

Just saying Union is superior is not a valid argument.

Yeah that was petty and ignorant! But I will say that mater dei holiday classic is up there in quality of some of those Ohio tourneys. That's probably the only one. Trinity can attest to this. Larue used to go to It but Im not sure why they dropped out. Maybe they took too many whoopens ha (joke).

I think Ruschell wins because of size and strength. Brock may have better technique, but I don't see it being able to beat Ruschell's combined strength, size, and technique.

As much as I like TJ's style of wrestling, Brock wins this one and I don't think it's as close as the score would indicate. By no means do I mean any disrespect here either, Brock is just on a whole different level as far as take downs go and I think he controls where the match takes place. While TJ is an animal on top I do not see him turning Brock and making up groud to tie the match.

The wildcard in this all though is who's in TJ's corner? We all saw a more more focused and aggressive wrestler at state when TJ had Kyle in his corner. It appeared that everything Kyle told TJ to do he did and as a result got a pin over Sean Fausz and in dominating fashion.

My pick would be like a 4-0 score in favor of Brock Ervin.

GOO is correct that the level of Ohio HS is above Indiana. Trouble with that statement relative to where the Kentucky teams travel is the best high school wrestling is in NE Ohio. No one from the Bluegrass makes that road trip for team competition.

Ryle went up to Wadsworth GIT last week. However Wadsworth schedules teams for them to win their own tourney, they havent lost this tourney in like 15 years. Ryle placed 5th. BTW Ruschell won 3-1 in the finals.

He won 3-1 against a kid who took 4th in Ohio and controlled the entire match. There was no doubt who was going to win from the whistle. The competition was very tough. Beast-mode 415...you not making any sense.

I think it really depends on the pace of the match. Ruschell impressed me last state tournament with his top wrestling and scrambling. I watched Brock a couple of times at state duals and he looks like a college wrestler. A fast-paced match favors Brock while a grind match looks better for Ruschell. Also, will Ruschell be able to get his turn on top? As for my prediction honestly I think either can win but I would have to pick Brock. He just looks complete from all positions. I think he'll be able to take Ruschell down a couple of times and then pick neutral when he gets his choice. If Ruschell wants to turn him then he'll have to pick top in which he'll take the chance of not getting his turn and his escape point.

TJ is a beast no doubt about that- been following him throughout his hs career! That bein said In any class but 126 i think he would be looking at a repeat. Problem is he happens to be In Brock's! I think it will be a great matchup and i hope it will wait until the finals! TJ is great at controlling the match from the top but i dont think he will match up on his feet- Brock will control the takedowns for at least two periods!
