Elder High School is having a Youth Team Tournament this weekend for kids (6th grade and under...12 years old or younger) to introduce them to a Middle School / High School style tournament.

DATE: Saturday- February 04, 2012

TIMES: Weigh-ins(Saturday) 7:30 – 9:15 a.m. Wrestling begins 10:00 a.m.
ENTRY FEE: $200 per team
FORMAT: 3 – One-minute periods
AWARDS: 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th Place Medals, Bracket to champion
1st 2nd 3rd 4th Place Team Trophies
We will wrestle 5th/6th place matches
WEIGHT CLASSES: 45,50,55,60,65,70,75,80,85,90,95,100,110,120,140,165
ADMISSION: FREE
RULES: The tournament is intended to introduce your kids to a junior high / high school style
tournament. This is NOT a dual meet tournament. Team scoring will be calculated and posted in the gym.
We will wrestle on 3 full mats with 16 weight classes using double elimination bracketing. Brackets are
based solely on weight. High school rules will apply. High School referees. The tournament is limited to
wrestlers in 6th grade and under only. No 7th graders allowed regardless of age. No 13 year olds
regardless of grade level. Wrestlers must be 12 years old or younger as of the date of the
tournament. No All-Star teams. You must use wrestlers from your own league roster. These are
wrestlers who practice on a regular basis in your practice room. For CYW teams, your wrestlers
must be on your CYW roster.
WEIGH-INS: There will be no weight allowance so plan your team accordingly. Your entire team must
weigh-in at the same time. Weigh-ins will close promptly at 9:15am.
TEAM REGISTRATION: After confirming that your team will be attending, fill out the seed
nomination form with the wrestler’s rating and comments for seeding purposes. Email the completed
form to [email protected]. If you do not receive a confirmation email from us, then please
call in the information. We must receive the registration by email by Wednesday 02/01/12. Team entry
fee will be due on the day of the tournament.

Rules: Modified Scholastic rules will be used for all divisions. Sudden death overtime will used
in the case of a tie. Double Elimination. Tournament Director reserves the right to combine

Kings Klash should be some good wrestling. This is a state seating/ranking event for OHIO there will be some very tough kids at this one.

We are going with Summit View. It wouldn't be right not allowing him to go. He has worked hard this year. As a second grader he earned the right to go as the first alt in 75lbs and I would like to challange him one last time before youth regionals.
Short answer we are doing both.
