At the seasons end what kinda practices do u have to make sure ur guys are ready for regions and states

We make sure conditioning and wt. is right. We also do more individual instruction to kids to focus on weaknesses.

Even though Im not coaching right now this is how we usually break down the last couple of weeks of practice

Monday - A lot of instuction conditioning and live

Tuesday - A lot of drill, drill instruction, muscle memory work, short spurts of live wrestling

Wed- drill, stiuation drill, stituation live, short live periods, best move drill

Thursday, best move drill, situation drill , situation, short live wrestling

Friday - stretch, instruction, weight control, ready for Saturday

This is the time of year where you put your best forward and try to hide the negative, when you have 2 equals wrestling , usualy the one who is most aggressive wins, so practices are alot less thinking and are more concerned on natural ability and instinct.

best move drill - this is the time of year where you focus on what are your 2 or 3 best moves and you drill them untill you hit them in your sleep.especially your best takedown or stand up.

the problem in wrestling 2 minute periods and 6 min matches is that you drill something called stalling , intense 45 second periods will condition your team with out waisting time running and cuts down on bad habits.
