Just saw on the usa wrestling nation boards and read this article where it talks about Howe and Travis Rutt are transferring to Oklahoma for next year. Howe is moving up to 174 and Rutt is staying at 184. Anyone have on any thoughts on this happening? Also seems like Tyler Graff is staying at UW for next year. Anybody really know what happened to UW to cause so many transfers and guys to change their minds about it?
Yeah but also they had 3 guys red-shirting though too that were heavy hitters. Imagine if Tyler Caldwell was going to stay at Oklahoma and how tough they would be this upcoming year.
They really did blow last year. I think Barry Davis is on his way out.
Wrestling coach Barry Davis’s three-year contract was extended through May 31, 2015.
His team got hit hard because it is an olympic year and he had a few wrestlers take olympic red shirts, if I'm not mistaken. Also, Frayer (ex Wisconsin Asst coach) is now an olympian where Howe and Rutt are going to learn a lot from and they are comfortable with.
