E.P “Tom” Sawyer State Park Gold Medal Wrestling Camp

Date of Event: Saturday, July 21, 2012

At this camp we will take your young wrestlers through a number of different drills and conditioning techniques to prepare them for next season. This camp will provide them with experience and expose them to the new forms of the sport which will benefit them throughout the rest of their careers. It will be broken down into two sessions (morning and afternoon).

Criteria:

· Neutral Position: Wrestlers will be taught proper stance and motion from that stance, take downs from feet to scoring back points, and introduced to new takedown offense.

· Top Position: Wrestlers will learn positioning and points system, hand placement and breakdowns, proper wrist control and half nelson pinning combination, chicken wing and wrist pinning combination, and proper leg rides with power finishes.

· Bottom Position: Wrestlers will be taught points system, basic stand up and escapes, proper sit-out and turn in escapes, switches, and the Granby/ Peterson roll to pinning combinations.

Sounds like a great deal and will try to send some kids, but bgsg cadet- open is that sat. It's good to see some guys putting things like this together though. Makes ky kids much better.

BGSG Cadet-Open division changed to the 14th of July. So July 21st the Camp will go on and any/all participation is encouraged.

I will be in Lexington this weekend at the Blue Grass State Games if anyone wants to bring your registration form by of pick one up I will have plenty with me.

Camp is this weekend, Saturday July 21st. Preregistration for the day of will start at 8:15am and the camp will start promptly at 9am. Look forward to seeing everyone out at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park.
