Wounded Warrior Fund Raiser

Topic ID: 8863 | 6 Posts

My name is Randy Pitcher, a 24 year Army Veteran (retired) asking your support for the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) fund raiser.

The Pitcher family has been involved in Kentucky and Hardin County Wrestling the past 12 years. Our oldest son (Army, Infantry, Ranger) this past April lost his left leg at the knee from an IED. One of the biggest supporters for Josh’s life recovery has come through the Wounded Warrior Project.

The Mission of WWP, to honor and empower wounded warriors.

The Purpose of WWP

To raise awareness and enlist the public's aid for the needs of injured service members.

To help injured service members aid and assist each other.

To provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members.

Your generous donation to WWP helps thousands of Wounded Warriors and their families – as they return home from the current conflict.

We ask each tournament Director to place donation containers at each event (admission tables, concession stands or both).

Additional information about WWP can be found at http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org

All donations “100%” will be donated to Wounded Warrior Project on behalf of Kentucky Wrestling in honor of all our Kentucky service members.

If you are interested in supporting the fund raiser please PM me or [email protected]

Thank you for your consideration.......

I would like to challenge all my Kentucky wrestling friends to match my personal donation of $100. North Hardin's Middle school team will be participating at the John Hardin Veteran's Memorial Tourney on Nov. 10 at that time I will present my donation to Jory Whorton and Randy Pitcher ( John Hardin coaches and organizers for this event). The following weekend North Hardin is hosting their Middle School Trojan Invitational where we will take $20 from each teams entry fee and pledge to the "Wounded Warrior Project". This is a great organization and the coaches at John Hardin have all served our great country's military and have given more than we will ever know. North Hardin / No-Ox Wrestling fully will support the coaches to get this project rolling. Step up Kentucky!!!!

I'd like to give a shout out to Coach Hitching and Fern Creek for hosting a WWP event.... :D

Today, I had the pleasure of presenting $970.00 to the Ft. Knox Wounded Warrior Program Coordinator on behalf of Kentucky Middle School Wrestling. These funds will be used for Adaptive Sports Programs…

North Hardin Middle/NO-OX Wrestling $590.00

John Hardin Middle Wrestling $380.00

Still looking for other programs to participate, hope it doesn’t stop here…..

Who will be the next program to make a contribution?????

North Hardin is not finished. We pledge $20 per team entered in our High School tourney( 22 teams last year) on Jan. 19. We will also have donation bucket available for the public to contribute. This is a great program for us to help. Many of these young soldiers have given more than most of us will ever know. Because of their commitment to the country, we are able to wrestle each weekend.May God Bless them all!!!

We are also in the planning stages of making the 2nd Tourney of the USA Belt Series a No-Ox/ Wounded Warrior event.
