The Christian County Wrestling family, but more importantly the Kentucky Wrestling community lost a giant this week. Coach Jim Perrin passed away Monday. Coach Perrin started the Christian County program in the early 1970's, led the team to 1 State title (1988) and 2 State Runner-ups (1986 & 1987). He was the 1988 Kentucky Wrestling Coach of the Year. His teams won 4 District titles and 4 Regional Titles. He coached 11 State Individual Champions & numerous state placers. He is the reason I currently coach at Christian County. He was a great teacher, coach, mentor, and more importantly father figure to many of the former Colonel wrestlers he coached. He will be greatly missed by all of us who had the honor of knowing him.

I didn't know coach Perrin personally but I know of his teams and especially his son. I ran into him twice in the Semi-finals of the state tourney.
Coach Perrin was one of the coaches that solidified wrestling in WKy during the 80-90's. He will be missed greatly by many.
