importance of weight training during the season

It has came to my attention that there is two strong arguements about this on other fourms and websites

i belive it is vital to do some form of resistance training ecpecially when cutting weight to minamize lean mass loss...

but other think it leads to being unflexible and is only for off season and is a waste of time

What are you thoughts on this

When you are constantly cutting you WILL lose lean Mass unless you are training you lose muscle you get weaker . The next guy who is training beats you simple as that .

Specialized training will INCREASE flexibility .cardio and strength .

I think its best during the season to make a high paced lifting style with simple strength exercsises such has bench curls squats and deadlifts.....JUST THE BASICS with some added core strengthing. i dont think there is a need for isolation training during the season.... it very obvious to me just by looking at a team on their stance on this matter

For most it is hard to find the time or the energy to lift if they have a tough schedual or are cutting really hard

Basic power moves like you mentioned are great off season but , in season your kind of off target Deadlifts are king , clean and presses lunges , lunge presses pullovers hyper extensions rows chins flyes and db presses are much more benificial. You can have a workout in about 40 minutes that is far superior for wrestling .

Compound movements that incorporate multiple muscle groups are best , they build balance speed coordination and power . Certain movements done in quick succession are also best duiring inn season cutting periods or even if you are not Cutting they add a greater cardio intensity and muscular stress that force growth when not done over to long of a period , meaning to many weeks or months in succession
