Valley's only State Champ was in '95.  Robbie Bodner @100 lbs.

what about woodford co they have like 50 state champs thats alot of people

In the early 70's brothers Jerry Northcutt and Bobby Northcutt were two of the states best wrestlers and were from Harrison Co.    They both happen to be Ryan Ross' great uncles.  I believe this shows some tradition!

You can't talk PRP without mentioning James Simpson HWT 1989.  I think this was his junior season and he played basketball as a senior rather than wrestling.  I also heard he did a backflip after winning the championship.  Pretty good for a heavyweight.

Fern Creek has had lots of state champs, good tradition thru the years!

I didnt get to see any of these guys (IN boy here) but heard lots of stories for the alums.

I guess the multiple X champs would be considered the better of the one times, but thats not always the case. What do the old timers remember about the Fern Creek kids?

Don Blevins 152lbs, 2x & MOW

Todd King 105lbs & 126lbs, 2X and MOW

John Sawaya HVY 2X

Lawrence Woodford HVY 2X

Nick Spine 98lbs 2X

Tim Whitfill 103lbs & 119lbs 2X

Mark Thomas 132lbs, MOW (not a 2xer but won MOW)

I know Tim Whitfill was one of the most dominating wrestlers I've seen.

Eastern High School

(not in specific order)

Derek Sawyer-State Champ @ 215lbs

Andre Bradford-placer (not sure how many times)

Robert Smith- 2x placer

Mike Moriarty-State Champ @ 138lbs.

Jerry Whelan

Detrick Smith

William Randle

Ballard high schools coach (cant remember his name)

many others

Completely right ... a multi champ isn't necessarily better than a one timer.  Jacob Holbrooke from Campbell Co for example ... a one time champ.  A one time champ that only gave up like 3 points (not including letting the guy up) his whole state champ year (Fairfield OH Invitational included).

Thats my point and while Holbrook was dominant only giving up 3 points all season thats not to say he was the best in Campbells history.

I was hoping to get some comments about some of these Fern Creek Kids from the past, I heard Mark Hitchings had a mean navy ride but he cant get any of his own kids to do it haha just kidding, and Ive heard Spine was pretty tough as well as Todd King and Tim Whitfill. I've heard alot of stories about Don Blevins 2Xer at 152lbs. Supposedly he moved here for JR and SR year otherwise he might have had a few more championships.

No doubt, that is hard to say and not what i was trying to do.
