No disrespect to WC, but this tournament is kind of weak compared to years past. Why is this a 2 day tournament? This could easily be done in one. If this was as big and tough as yester year, I could understand, but this amount of teams.......Really? Sounds like a fund raiser to me.
No southern??
Sorry Missed a few
Perry Cent.
Pike Cent.
Prp
Scott co.
Seneca
Sheldon Clark
S. Oldham
Southern
What tourney is this ? WCI ? and where is it ? forgive my ignorance ..Thanks
Woodford County ?
I follow Boone and to the best of my knowledge there not in it and there listed on the above list.. sounds like a great tourney though wish they were...but i'll find out for 100% sure
Yes woodford, 2 day really tough tournament!
Gordon Lee out of GA should be the favorite having won the last two years.
What weight class has Boston been wrestling? Will he see Bailey Lahue of Corydon at 126?
Was Lahue the same kid that wrestled Whalen last year? If so, that kid was an animal!!
John Hardin is attending
Top 5 teams should be Southern, Gordon Lee, Moore, Montgomery and Laf. in any order
Seems like Gordon Lee brought a group last year that did not have any seniors. Interested to see where their 106 from last season will be at. He wrestled Whalen in the Semi's last year and Whalen beat him by 1 pt.
Top 5 teams should be Southern, Gordon Lee, Moore, Montgomery and Laf. in any order
Should be...really now......hmmm !!!! I think you can count on Moore and Woodford along with Gordon Lee at the top of this group...then you have Lafayette, Franklin . Montgomery , Oldham and McCreary Central all too close to call........Southern will be a top 10 possibly !
Can see it from your point also, threw southern in there because of a few guys who can rack up alot of points. Including Thomas noe, crawley, cash,s. barret, and a few others. Don't know why i forgot to mention WC in there
should be a very instersting two days of wrestling and some instering match ups at almost every weight and now even with the two pound mostly everyone should be down to the weight their gona wrestle. team wise gordon lee is gonna be tuff they always bring qualtiy kids without a doubt but lets not forget they did not win a finals match last year they went 0 for 4 in the finals but its still crazy impressive that a team can win a tournment without having a kid win it. Theres gonna be some big time names here like 113 should be jason hall vs luke reaic once again in three weekends. jason is 2 and 0 against luke this year but these two kids get in there and battle it wil be fun to watch. 26 and 32 will be two of the best weights to watch this weekend with a whole bunch of talent at this weight.145 tevon clay seems to be on mission one of the tuffest kids in the state always fun to watch him. with the two pound allowance hard to tell weere alot of kids are gonna be be 160 and 170 should be tuff. now im not forsure on this but we could possiably see holtsclaw and mcdanial at 82 this weekend that will be one to keep your eye on. 195 220 and 285 will be a battle to get to the finals should be fun to watch.
top 5 teams
moore
gordon lee
woodford
southern
central hardin
Looking over last years WCI Placewinners here is how they stack up. Alot of Senior placewinner in the brackets from last year.

WV will be @ GMVWA Holiday Tournament @ Nutter Center on Dec. 28th and 29th according to their schedule

Woodford County ?

Boone will be at Mt. Healthy Duals on Dec. 28th according to their schedule.
Bailey wrestled 113 last year and I have no clue who he wrestled. He is very very good and will either be at 120 or 126 for the tourney. Should be fun to watch, anyone know if he and Boston will meet up or are they going to be in different weight classes?
Heard that Boston is on his way to 113. Not sure when he can make it though.
Does anyone have the full corrected list??
Predictions for Champs:
106 McKenna South Old. 6th last year at 106
113 Ragsdale Gordon Lee 3rd at 106 last season I was really impressed with this kid last season.
120 Whalen Henry Clay 1st at 106 last season, second at 103 the previous year
126 Crawley Southern 1st last season at 120
132 Spires Gordon Lee 2nd at 126 last season, 1st the year before at 119
138 Jacks Gordon Lee 2nd at 132 last season 1st at 103 the previous year
145 Clay Franklin County 3rd at 138 last season
152 Doyle Woodford 3rd last season at 152
160 Courtney Woodford 1st last season at 160
170 Farmer Gordon Lee 3rd last season at 170
182 Barrett Southern 2nd at 182 last season
195 Conrad North Old. 1st last season at 195
220 Reeser Central Hardin 5th last season at 220
HWT Porter Danville 1st last season at HWT
Looking at last years placements. Not sure if the kids will be at those weights just taking a guess. Should be one heck of a tournament.
Alot of other kids that should be in there
113: Hall vs. Rearic part 3( so far in last two weekends these 2 have put on great matches)
126: Crawley vs. Rosado ( is rosado back?)
145: Clay
152: Cash
160: W. Courtney
182: Barret vs. Holtzclaw / Holtzclaw vs. Mcdaniel / Mcdaniel vs. Barret
195: N. oldham kid vs. T. Noe
I just took random stabs at where some of the Gordon Lee kids would be. They seem to bring a tough group up every year. The first year they came they put three in the finals and had three champs and 7 more kids wrestling for 3-4.. Last season they had three in the finals and all three lost but they had 7 more placewinners to secure the team title. They are fun to watch and I am glad they make the trip every year for the competition. Im not sure what weight the Ragsdale kid will be at this season. I just know I was very impressed with him last season. With Hall and Rearic in the bracket who knows where seeds will fall it should make for a very interesting bracket.
Ragsdale has been wrestling 113....Whalen beat him 11-7 last year in the semis.......
Bailey Lahue has been wrestling 126 in Indiana so far this year.....
Shirkey from Oldham will be there at 126. Faced Corydon 2 weeks ago but didn`t get the chance to face LaHue who hurt his knee earllier in the day. LaHue lost in the first round 5 to 2 to kid from Floyd Central. Shirkey beat kid from Floyd Central 6 to 4.
Lawson from Woodford beat Shirkey earlier in the year 5 to 4. If Rosado and Whalen go 126 it will be very stacked. It is going to be tough to place at 126.
Clay Brown WV beat their highly touted..{they said 9th nationally ranked} Alex Spires 9-8 last year in the Finals...looked easier than score indicated !!!! Clay was smooth !
Crawley from Southern pinned the other so called beast Mika Clark at 120 last year
All I remember is that they have shown up to the tournament for the last two year and won fairly easy. I am not sure where any of those kids will be but they do make the brackets interesting. Crawley pinned Mika Clark from Gordon Lee last year according to the brackets. Gordon Lee Coach looked like he was frustrated in all three finals matches last year but he had to be happy with having no champs and still winning the tournament before the finals had started. They are a tough bunch but they are beatable as we seen in the finals.
What time does the tournament start Friday.
My sleeper to win the 170 is Boykin ..pink socks and all ..you heard it here first
Seeds?
I hear Boston dropping to 115. I wouldn't see much advantage to that, especially team wise.
How many in each bracket?
Are the brackets posted anywhere?
Does anyone know if the semi's and finals will be broadcasted online?
Brackets won't load. Help!
6:30 for finals on ihigh.com. semis just got done.

Tevon Clay, Nathan Boston, and Kyle Lawson are absolutely the real deal. All 3 dominated their weight classes. All 3 seem like class acts as well.
IWIN, I totally agree. I would also throw little Lawson in that mix as well. I'm aware that he lost his finals match, but to be a 7th grader and mix it up so well against the current no. 1 is beyond impressive. I don't want to delve into speculation, but the only thing that separated Trevor Lawson from the top of the podium was a first period head-and-arm that cost him five points. Lawson won the next two periods 6-2. I think if these two square off again, Lawson will have his hand raised.
Nathan Boston is an animal. This was my first chance to see Woodford Co. this season and they did not disappoint. Whether these kids moved from other states or not is irrelevant. They are winning matches in Kentucky and doing it with class. Watching Kyle Lawson run that half-nelson/chicken wing combo was so much fun. He is a bruiser on top. Crawley from Southern is a solid wrestler, but he just got beaten up on bottom. That super-physical top work is what you see from premiere high school wrestlers and the best in college. I'm excited to see more of these boys as the season progresses.
There is only one word that describes Tevon Clay: TENACIOUS!! This kid flat gets after it! He's in your face, he stalks opponents out of bounds, he wears down the neck. He is constant offense. His only objective is to score points. And he does it! I also love seeing a kid, who is so physical on the mat, be collected as well as he is off the mat. He is focused all the time. I want 14 Tevon Clays on my team.
All in all, WCI was a great tournament. Moore and Southern were impressive team-wise, and many individuals showed lots of guts. Watching champions is great, but sometimes I really enjoy seeing a kid persevere through the consolation bracket. One example of this from yesterday is John Hernandez of Henry Clay. He drew a first round pigtail against Nathan Boston and got hammered. Game over, right? WRONG! He fought back and took 3rd place, knocking off Jason Hall of Moore and Luke Rearic of Lafayette in the process. Hernandez wasn't perfect in those matches, but boy is he scrappy. Look for him to make some noise late in the season.
