What's everybody's thought on this year wrestling in region 4?

Team Wise

1. Seneca (Very tough team will have a great showing at state)

2. Trinity (Always a solid team and in my openion top 10 in the state)

3. St. X (Region starts falling off a little bit here but still a good team with a most likely top 25 finish in the state)

4. Central (Had a breakout year last year and will continue to make strides with there program)

After the top 4 its anyones game Manual and Moore will probably battle it out for 5th.

I agree, seneca will be the toughest team in the region. They have a well seasoned squad and some state placers returning like martin at 103, chui at 119, fuller at 125, and dockery at 215.

Trinity will give them some competition, they always have a full line up with some tough kids.

Not sure how accurate this is but I have to give the edge on the above to Trinity. Alot will depend on who fills the open slots for both schools.

this is the line up that i know about......chiu and fuller are almost even....chiu is better on his feet....but fuller is pretty good on the ground

Just out of curiosity why didn't Whiting just bump up to wrestle varsity at 215?  I saw him wrestle at North Hardin and he wrestled very well until he ran into Wenninger.  Just curious because Trintys 215 wasen't very good.

For whatever reason, Whiting didn't do well against the 215.

Well i mean if he is that strong why didnt he go 215. He could have done alright but i do also think seneca is the better of the 2 teams. Maybe trintiy will slip in and win the region who knows.  I think Whitting will be good this year from what I have heard and he might stay at 189 but he might move up to 215. Why didnt he wrestle varsity 189 last year? If he is that good and all he had to do is beat Laswell. Was it seniority at Trinty?

I believe Whitting will very well beat Dockery at 215. Jordan Whitting is much stronger than Jordon Dockery, and his athleticism makes up for his poor techniques...on the other hand, Jordon Dockery with the much better technique overall, is very capable of beating Whitting. This will most deff. be a match to see. Like 2 gorillas in the jungle making love.....lol :mrgreen:

If Whiting and Dockery wrestled 3 times I'd say it would be a split between the two, all very even matches.

I would like to reply to the statement that overtimeking said Jordan Whiting didn't wrestling 189 last because he couldn't beat Grant Laswell the 3 or 4 times they wrestled, not because Grant was a senior but because Grant was better.

Jordan Whitting may be stronger, but he seems to cocky about it, and its Dockerys senior year so he's gunna be out to kill, and as some of you may or may not know, technique can beat strength any day of the week... i know

i have to disagree with that one i have seen great tech not be able to beat strength and it can happen like byrd and martinko at state martinko didnt have better tech than byrd just stronger and byrd couldnt score on him cause his defense was too good and sometimes the strength of a guy like Martinko,Scherer,Winneger, or a sullivan can handle some one before they even get on the mat

if you don't think technique can beat strength, you must not have even seen kyle ruscel wrestle...

saying that martinko was stronger than byrd is funny. byrd was MUCH MUCH stronger. martinko just wanted it more, and went out there and give byrd a match he wasnt expecting
