Hammer and Anvil 1 / 19

Topic ID: 9157 | 55 Posts

Just looking over entries and

At 152 Stephen Myers Ky #1 at 160 should have Jordan Marshall Ohio D3 #1 at 152

At 220 Austin Myers Ky # 1 at 220 should have Travis Boyd Ohio D3 # 1 at 220 ,

Stephen doesn't get a break Wow he seems to have studs at every turn , Globke Ohio D1 #1 at 160 a couple times Schram , Davis , Cooper , Marrinelli now Marshall And Ford as well as a stud from Rochester ,. A busy sr yr to say the least .

Travis is a good kid and wrestler , so is Austin , this is ATMs chance to prove he could have won state in Ohio had he stayed a Blue Devil ,

I think he ups it a notch at Western Brown , not sure where Stephen plans to wrestle this one he originally planned to go 152 for gmva and Fairfield but he probably stays 152 .

Should be very interesting and interesting to see if CC can handle this loaded Rochester team and take it to Hillsboro who barely beat CC early this yr , I think they smoke Hillsboro this time also a tough kid from Hillsboro Ford at 152 who has a win over Schramm recently . Think Ford beat PH last yr not sure , either way SAM should get Top seed this time .ATM maybe as well

This will be an awesome Tourny .Not rock solid tough all around but a few tough classes ,

I have a feeling ATM serves up some crow to some Buckeyes saying he would not place in Ohio ,

I know there are a lot of other tough matchups I just posted on ones I know and thought it was interesting state number 1s wrestling

Wow...wish Ryle could get in this one. Sounds like a great tournament.

ATM says they have nice awards for winners , Jackets and stuff , that's awesome , ATM is all

Giddy like a kid in a candy store he likes new toys and jackets and things he loves his jr high finalist jackets , that stuff makes it neat , funny jr high doing that stuff with warmups and singlets I have heard HS kids state champs even say damn I wish we got jackets and stuff , hope to see a bunch of Camels wearing hammer an anvil jackets in a couple weeks if they have them again . Ph has one I heard hard to figure out since he rarely shows up to practice but it all good .

Austin and Boyd , this is gonna be fun .

State duals showdown between CC and X should be the next big tourny its going to be awesome , I hear X has a new 152 they must be deep for French to lose his spot , impressive , but I predict a CC win , to many big guns its like an armory they are all big guns now , and as for leaders their srs are different but still effective even though their coaches are probably looking forward to the Fausz ATM leadership era , hahahahahahah

The Hammer & Anvil is a great tournament I am told. I heard it was well ran with great awards and very good compition. I would like to get to Ohio and attend this tournament sometime. Good luck to any KY teams that attend!

It's looking like its going to be a very good tourny . I doubt Ky kids get to wrestle

Teams from Mich very often ,

Hopefully Ohio dislikes Mich more Than KY !!!!

So how did the KY kids do?

It's next weekend !!!!

My bad ment to say how do you think they will do

CC should do well , the mich team is loaded and the rest of the teams have studs here and there , Hillsboro beat CC at Franklin early and seem to think they can again but there is no way , their best wrestler Ford at 152 is in a tough class and CC has everyone in and down to weight unlike last time they were in a tourny with them

Looking at matchups there should be some

Big ones , state champs and state 1s head to head

Wish I could go but I have middle school that day.

I take it P. Ham will be sitting this one out?

No not yet anyway lol

Three big match ups or more possible

At 152 Stephen a 2 x champ , Marshall a 1 x Ohio champ , Ford a high ranked Ohio kid , and state placer I believe and the mich kid is ranked 4th and a state placer in mich . 4 tough kids in one. Class

138 Paul Hamilton , and Austin Reese ranked number 1 in his div and class in Ohio

220 ATM and TravIs Boyd both ranked first in their state .

Many more too ranked kids in classes , Fausz should have a ranked kid from mich , and I'm sure some others will as well.

A lot of action for a 1 day tourny .

Is PH out for this one?

Paul is out for two tournys ,Hammer and Anvil and State Duals ....... As far as regionals and state that is questionable I am told !

That is incorrect. I am still in

No you are out you just don't know it yet because coach b was waiting for the right time to tell you .

You Keeton and S Myers , all out , for good

Somehow I don't think so..... That'd of been last weekend :D

No it's been building I think Keeton is still in , but all the dancing and goofiness by SM and your blatant misconduct at LW pushed everyone to far you guys are done .

No not yet anyway lol

Hemkreiter majored Boyd. Unranked Brennock stuck Boyd last weekend. Myers with 1st period pin here. Over/under on time? I say 43 seconds. I know you are joking w/ Hamilton, it would be a bum deal if he received any type of suspension from the state. If the coach thinks otherwise that is okay. From what I have read he got jobbed and lost his cool for a moment.

Of course I expect ATM to pin in the first I have from the start , I knew Heimkreiter beat Boyd before everyone talked about it on the thread on Yappi , and I have seen Austin wrestle Boyd before when ATM was in jr high , He is a great kid He actually talks Austin up as I have him , different type of wrestler in my opinion Boyd being a Sr and good and ranked 1 at D3 I figure it would be a good match , for a state ranked 1 in ky vs a state ranked 1 in Ohio ,

Possible they do not even meet up but they should be the 1 and 2 seeds . I think ATM gets the 1 so who knows .

PH is back in so him and Reeses match should be good and 152 once again is easily the toughest class there .

Funny you quoting the yappi post about Boyd a num 1 ranked kid in oh losing to Heimkreiter who you blasted by asking why people posted the match between him and Austin saying it was nothing special .

Your purpose is always evident , you down ATM by saying Heimkreiter is no good then you down an Ohio number 1 saying Heimkreiter and Seth beat him " Seth " being Seth Brannock " I know more about SW Ohio wrestling as far as kids go around my own kids weights than you ever will .

Your goal is obvious , as I said y dont you simply quit posting about them ,

I should be like those in oh and yourself and play angles and trash talk to pump up who u want , lol I do but I try not to down anyone when I do it unlike you and your pals .

Watch A soph from ky get a win over an Ohio number 1 this weekend and watch me laugh at everyone who said ATM would not place in Ohio .

ATM would have been D3 same as Boyd had he stayed and he would have been a soph state champ there same as his brother .

Butt out stick to crappy .

?????????????

How 'bout this: I think Austin is waaaaaaay better than Boyd. Austin beat Hemkreiter who in turn beat Boyd. It is not a stretch to say that Austin should win. Folks had made mention about match ups. I think Austin will destroy Boyd, that is all. And, for the record I think Austin would win DIII. Hope I cleared this up for you.

Fair enough , just suspicious of your reason for blasting the video of ATM and Heimkreiter

And a bit more .

Fair enough , just suspicious of your reason for blasting the video of ATM and Heimkreiter

And a bit more .

Never blasted the video. It is rare that a video gets posted on any site. Therefore, it is more than reasonable to believe that the video would be something spectacular. It was not. That is not "blasting". No childish words using @#$* , just adult talk. Sorry if I hurt your feelings. Speaking of videos, I saw the Hemkreiter/Boyd match on Flo long before any chatter of Hammer/Anvil hit another board. Boyd is a big kid, looks thicker than Hemkreiter but not as tall. He does not seem to be in very good shape as Hemkreiter basically fell on top of him as Boyd gassed big time in the 3rd. I believe he is the highest returning placer in his weight class and, rightfully so earned the #1 DIII rank entering the season. Next rankings come out in a week or so and he will not be #1, might drop out of top 5? This is not meant to take the wind out of your sail, as you have tried to hype this match up. Hopefully the #1 ranked Boyd shows up and gives Austin a match.

Back on topic. The Rochester, Mich team has a few studs that can rack up points. Even though Hillsboro beat CC earlier I still think CC wins it.

There you go that's the Otto I'm talking about , taking a knock on your own wrestlers , yes I was building it up along with the other number 1 kids who will be wrestling CC kids at Hammer ,

Why shouldn't I when so many spout stuff about ATM not being legit saying he wouldn't place in Ohio then act as if kids like Thornberry who seem to lose every week to kids with no decent records at all would beat him or should be ranked higher ,

Please , I don't even scratch the surface of bashing and propaganda campaigning as most in Ohio and I do not bash anyone as they do , or you do in your own way , always a compliment followed by a knock ,

Sorry if it hurts your feelings d:)k H :(d

I guess your a prophet predicting Boyd might drop after losing to Heimkreiter Brannock and quite possibly Austin lol ,

Thanks didn't see THe match on Flo , ATM is a student of the sport he will enjoy watching it .

Either way hope Austin wins , kind of funny a kid who all the crappy posters said wouldnt make it out of districts in SW Ohio has went undefeated on quite. Few tournys and matches in Ohio this yr , 1 more to go and the last chance for any Ohio wrestler to beat Austin , Boyd is a good kid he was always respectful and I enjoyed talking to him whenever we were at open mats or watching a tourny .

Still hope Austin gets the W of course .

Saw the match , Boyd is big and had offense on Heimkreiter forcing him to stall in the third , Boyd seems to be as good or better technically than Heimkreiter but gets in bad situations .

He muscled Heimkreiter at times making me think it will not be an easy match for anyone .

Should be good. As for Brannock pinning him as I said he gets in bad situations at times , I doubt Brannock could beat Heimkreiter and he did not pin Boyd I would guess Brannock may have his number but Boyd had a bad match against him .

Either way I think Austin wins if he remains himself . The talk of first period pins is foolish and a precursor to disaster that ATM is much to smart to care fall for , 20 so so kids could pin a person and a great wrestler could be beaten by that person losing all those matches or a great wrestler could

Win by a point , lol judging someone by a close match as the Ohio people have done Austin for his two close ones with a very good Heimkreiter is pretty pathetic , when I have seen some

Of the best in the country win by one or two continuously against actually sub par comp .

Makes sense that a soph 220

Who should be a 195 at least would

Play it smart in the big boy weights and win with his intelligence and skill rather than risk

Losses on ignorant offense that could cost him .

Funny people claiming such vast knowledge of the sport and who actually know what I am

Explaining know it to be true and very intelligent wrestling , yet those people take shots at a kid who is undefeated and doing what needs to be done to stay that way , I remember big wrestlers from the past in Cincy who won many times by a point or two who were jr and sr and were praised as greats , Becker , Johnson , Barrentine , all as

Upperclassmen yet people knocking ATM for winning two matches by a point against a big / bigger upperclassmen . Tacky and obvious ill intent . And Austin , TJ , lol Tony Johnson and Barrentine , are friends , ATM jr high bracket hangs on the wall of our Gym next to TJs which reminds me he has a HS bracket to go up .

As well as a national one .

That was my impression as well. I believe Austin can counter Boyd all day. Austin is a smart wrestler.

I remember Becker. He had great feet and his win in the state finals was something to see, fighting off a deep shot against undefeated Barlow in OT then getting the takedown. 2007? 2008? That was a strong team.

Yes with the awesome , Germaine Lindsey lol

What a role model he is/ was his dad as well

Yes with the awesome , Germaine Lindsey lol

What a role model he is/ was his dad as well

Never met them, but have heard only good things. Got to see him at a few events. He had a motor like no other.

He trained more than anyone else I have seen except maybe ATM ,AA at OU

http://www.baumspage.com/wr/wbrown/2012/Seed%20List.txt

for those who didnt know or see them, seeds are up.

Interesting seeding at 152 , seed a 1 x 145 over a 2 x who won the class last yr , seperated out of state kida from Ohio kids though making it a nice but not legit reason , Sam gets Ford , then Marshall .

2 state champs and 2 state placers in one class in a one day tourny , that's insane , no rest for Sam it's war every week , nice prep for state

Ph and Reese should be good as should ATM and Boyd , Finals will be intense .

I predict a CC upset over the Rochester team .

Going out on a limb I predict ATM seals it with a pin .

Just a fathers dream scenario but who knows it is probably sealed way before that .

Just looked at the rosters, CC one of 3 teams with full roster, Mechanicsburg and Hillsboro are the others. New Lex, Rochester MI and Galia Academy only missing one.

How do the team predictions roll up?

I read that Rochester MI is having a good season and won this event last year.

Everyone has Rochester then CC or Hillsboro , Hillsboro beating CC by a slim margin I think at Franklin , with CC missing some having one ejected "probably PH lol " and kids not down to weight yet , not sure about Galia Academy .

Good Luck to CC!

That's awesome , Hope to see them

Do well they have made a nice impression on Ohio this yr , glad my boys could be a part of it , CC Ryle SK and WV in NkY have all made

Big impressions on OHIO , Over the last couple yrs , the talk before was how they got good seeds from getting high places in a weaker state just being honest , but now it's more talk of here they come they will have good seeds and they are going to win and only our best could possibly beat them , honest to goodness , the only team in SW oh that can beat CC is probably a private school with kids from all over SW Ohio on it , I would say Kentucky has arrived , and I can honestly say I was surprised at how the schools in Sw Ohio seemed to not be up to par with CC , CC can and did beat them all ,

Which brings me to say its awful funny for them to blast me for taking my kids to KY and CC when CC beats all of them with the exception or possible exception of a powerhouse private school with transfers galore , and mine are doing better where they are than any who are there ,

Now that's funny right there .

And I don't mind saying I hope if any kid from Ohio comes to KY OUR refs are as FAIR as theirs .

Their arrogance is unwarranted ,the best public school team in the Tri state area of Nky greater Cincy is without question Campbell County the KY state champs , and that's a proven fact , they will blow Hillsboro out of the water sat , and give everyone at the Hammer fits .

Now all the buckeye posters can retaliate however they want , wins are wins , sat CC will have its team at full force at weight on point ,

State duals to follow It's Xs turn come

On mom show me

What jr has we will

Bump Steff up give you weight advantage and dazzle you .

I have never been to state duals in Ohio or Ky my son helped Moe earn their state duals spot but was gone the next yr , very fired up to see

Both my boys there together and together again at state after a full yr of wrestling , this is awesome , good luck to everyone and just messin with the x people

They impressed the crap out of

Me very solid group of kids and I would

Like to see them wrestling in Ohio more as well they would shut some

People up for sure .

I know I'm tacky and arrogant but. I don't care and I hope the kids like me saying what they know is true , and I don't care what anyone thinks most of the time anyway . Tired of people downing kids and states and more tired of people falling for it and adding to The problem

CC will win this tourney

Turner will make it to the finals in the 170's and no way the New Richmond kid beats Matthews... JMHO but I've seen them in person and you can add those points to CC's studs

It's going to be one heck of a tournament ,

Can't lie , Stephen and Marshall will be the best match in two states without question this weekend , probably one of the best in the country , 2 state champs who have wrestled for over a decade and former youth rivals , if not for that lol Stephen and Fords match should be a war as well . PH Reese will be tough , Mathews and Turner are already considered CC studs lol , they are apart of the wrestling tacklingTD Camels , and the loose Cannon Keeton , team points and all " no team Points this week though please "

Possibility of seeing Marshall and Stephen on the same team next yr at ODU , which is ODD

Fun weekend when your a wrestling fan. good luck to CC.. Reid is hard to take down he stays back and is short/stocky so hopefully Turner will be patient and the Breezly kid wrestles just the way Turner does but Turner is a bit stronger . I see Matthews getting to the finals and winning by 5

Are any of the Rochester kids ranked nationally?

Not sure I'm getting the seeding down , Fausz and Austin have nice seeds , but it appears as if they had some kind of KY seed adjustment or whatever some

Of of our kids have higher placings than the seeds above them , and one has more st titles and in Oh as well lol that's some "adjusting "

Hope they keep it as is and CC still

Hammers everyone

Are any of the Rochester kids ranked nationally?

None per Intermat, but perhaps in another ranking. They have a number of tough wrestlers and are a solid team in dual format. Richards at 138, Vettesse at 160, and Shadaia at 195 are having strong seasons. Interestingly, Michigan still goes by the old weight classes. So Shadaia for example, wrestles 189 in Michigan but will go 195 at Western Brown.

As an aside, I did not see Toal listed for T.C. He and Running would be a great finals.

Ok I see what the seedng commitee did they , cheated ..... I mean they dropped all the seeding criteria by one for ky because Ohio has sectionals districts and state but ky only has reg and state ,

Still when you have.a 2 x and a 1 x and the 2 is one oh and one ky it's a no brainer but good as I said keep it as is

I figured the KY kids would have a criteria added instead of taken away , maybe two added since Ohio has 3 divisions and Ky only one ,

Always a different way of looking at it an who's to say who's is right , one thing is for sure , I wouldnt dare openly knock a state or team as they have , particularly with the recent success they have had . Very tacky classless and in my opinion cheating before the tourny has even begun . Reminds me

Of Hamiltons match against leonhardt at Lakota last week , ref gives leonhardt one point befor the wrestlers even shake hands because Hamilton readjusts his headgear because it was choking him .

His was probably if not the toughest bracket in the tournament even missing
marshall, who was out to an untimely personnal matter.

MOW?!?!?

Austin ATM Myers!  5 pins all in the first period.  3 in less than a minute.  OH Div3 #1 ranked Boyd in finals looked like a middle schooler against a man!

It's funny, I've seen people on the ohio site dogging the myers boys, saying they may have lost a step or two since moving to ky, but it looks like they're doing just fine to me. Keep up the good work, and congrats to all of cc

Congrats ATM! Way to shut the haters up!

Congrats to CC! Congrats to Austin!

Well , it was an Awesome tourny , for Campbell County and for Stephen and Austin , Hamilton got a minor injury , defaulted out to 4th , hate to see him go out reg season that way but he wrestled well ,

Condolences go out to Jordan Marshall , a great wrestler and kid ,sorry for your loss and good luck the rest of the yr , a friend to Stephen I would say , they have wrestled youth against each other and with each other at Jordan's and on his teams .

Glad Stephen got to go out a champ in reg season against a good kid in Ford glad he got to get another win in a state he loves and wrestled in and for ,for so long , hope they appreciated his efforts as much as he appreciated all those who cheered him on for so many years , he was very proud to represent Ohio and be an Ohio champion when he was ,glad he went out as an Ohio champion ,

Glad Austin got another big win and finally got himself an inn season OW , he .... DID Work again ,lol good luck to Boyd he's a great kid .

Now , looking at the yr , Campbell Countu did Work in Ohio , Sam wins Ow at Franklin CC barely loses down 3 wrestlers ,

CC barely loses rumble Fausz and Sam win OWs , CC wins Fairfield Fausz wins Ow , CC wins large school GMVA ATM wins most pins least time , CC blows the doors of of the Hammer and Anvil as I uhhhh hoped and ATM has another tourny with 5 first period pins in Ohio and wins the OW by 1 point in the votes , edging out big littler Brother , awesome stuff ,I think it's safe to say that yes he would place in Ohio any div , unlike his detractors have said . And Stephen has wrestled war after war against ranked wrestlers this yr and lost only 1 /):)-)/):$: match . Safe to say he would challenge or win in Ohio at any number of div or weights .

And as I said , Campbell County is the best public wrestling school team in the NKY greater Cincinnati area , and would challenge and do well in Ohio , and haters can hate ,

But Stephen only lost two matches in Ohio his whole HS career both with horrible calls changing the match , anyone downing him in any way is a classless idiot , same goes for Austin , and he has yet to lose to anyone in HS anywhere ,

Thanks to Western Brown , great tourny and classy down to earth tournament directors Well ran nice awards , and very classy kids on that side of town and in that tourny , Rochester kids were studs , smart move having their 152 bump to 170 and take 2nd , he would have been 3rd or 4th at 152 !!!! Jmho

Great win by woods wrestling well , great team effort all around , Mathews looked sharp and Fausz looked unreal , can't wait for the rematch between Mathews and Chamberle , wow it will be a war .

CC with 11 placers and 5 Champs , looks very ready for state duals State and whatever else they choose ,

Thanks for all the kind words , ATM was jacked up fired up and scoped out Boyd all week and all day he had a great game plan , knowing his opponent had the heavy hard tie he hit him with the perfect move the first few seconds of the match ,slide bye .... And then it was all but over with fierce breakdowns into a Shelby set up looking for the pin , most thought he had it a lot sooner but he set back up readjusted and hit his move after a hard fought go for most of the first then it was over ,

Cool awards , coach B has the Championship belt , cool as heck , embroidered back packs for champs t shirts medals , nice end of yr tourny

And I didn't even get kicked out :)

I guess Ohio takes its revenge out on ATM who is the highest ranked soph or fresh in the nation according to wrestling USA by having its home grown intermat rankings keep him out of their top 20 with two soph ranked , oh well that will change ,

Steph back in at 20 intermat 152 ,,Good enough

Evidently , Michigan wrestling isn't so much better than Kentucky wrestling as I read on an Ohio site :)they did have a very good team at the hammer though , a fantastic lightweight at 113 an impressive 138 that went through Hamilton and Reese , a jacked up 195 that dominated easily till finals , were some notables I watched from their team but they were solid top to bottom , Hillsboro was tough , Ford is a beast a huge 152 , very intense match with Stephen with about 75 or so coaches on Hillsboro side lol free

Floor I guess but i like that, but how would

You like to

Be a wrestler with two coaches In your corner

wearing purple and gold and having 50 plus in the opposite corner wearing a sea of red cheering for your defeat lol a bit intimidating or disheartening for most i would tbink !!it is nerve wracking and also one of the coolest things I have seen out of my son wrestling this season and always I guess , Stephen is one hard sob to score on all yr whenever someone was lucky enough to get in on him he scrambled moved hopped dodged blocked did the splits and avoided a takedown ,

It's awesome hearing the opposing crowd cheer and get excited on a possible

Takedown only to hear their excitement turn to groans and complaints it's awesome loved seeing the sea of red turn blue ,, refs stay busy at times , I would rather no one get close to a takedown of course but I guess the takedowns are as exciting as the defense , one of our wrestlers came up to me before Stephen and fords match and said he overheard Fords coaches saying watch the ankle pic , watch the knee blast , watch the slide bye , watch the lat drop , watch the whip over , and watch the inside trip , we were cracking up - didn't watch the knee pick and and coach must have forgot the simple snap down go behind , but it was all good ,

Fausz was never challenged a nice look from a Troy Christian wrestler but nothing close , Mathews Dominated and Woods seemed to know it Was his day , some very good heavys in the room ,Looking forward to seeing this tourny again not looking forward to the sense emptiness and boredom of not seeing a kid with a target on his back makes seas of red ,black , orange or silver whatever color his opponent wears fans hope for a win and end up a bit blue , but still excited and a bit happy because they saw some awesome wrestling big moves and a classy kid who generally leaves with his opponents knowing they lost to a good kid who loves the sport has been around a long time paid his dues more than most or any and only wants everyone to like him even them .

Worried about Austin I think he is losing interest in the sport or he simply doesn't like wrestling anymore , he doesn't spend much time on the mat at these tournaments or maybe he just thinks people do not like him maybe he is sensitive or something .

Not going to bash Ohio as some there bash my boys me or ky or anything else , my boys love both states I think, have friends in both and have done well in both dumb them

Bashing their former and present champs even from

Other states , bottom line you can't beat someone who constantly beats you and you can't hate kids who don't hate anyone .

ATM took his Ow it was only a matter of time when you pin everyone dominate totally no one can bash you or deny you , honestly he isn't even at 75% he has other gears , we will work on that .

State duals in state wars and state titles on the line now , it's go time

Congrats to CC on a great effort !

Looking in on another site , I can hear the silence on the Hammer and Anvil thread all the way from Canton through C"bus past Dayton down 75 short visit to Mongomery back up onto 275 east past 32 across the river left on Alexandria pike and out into the county , God and Mpire country it's the sound of Austin's hammer hitting his anvil , as I said The Norse god of wrestling just got the Hammer , the hammer of the wrestling god hahahhahaha awesome awesome stuff
