Does someone want to take a swing at predicting the top 8 for state, maybe say the great mpire. Many good tournaments since the last rankings. Nobody can match the power of the great ranger, he is the man.
Top 8 in every weight class
Topic ID: 9221 | 110 Posts
Lol I follow two classes and anyone around them close the rest is just for fun or some interesting kids here or there , I do plan on keeping my eye on the 40 - 55 lb youth guys though ,
Actually it could be fun but I would mess it all up
Well thats why they say for shits and giggles lol. Give er a shot im sure you could ball park it
I think doing like top 12-15 is easier. I'm doing just the 170's and can tell you without a doubt that's it's almost impossible to do a top 8 because the wrestlers I have listed are so balanced between 4 through 15 on any given day I know that it can happen. Well in fact it just did with Ryder 15th (my rankings) defeating Mink (6)my rankings. I doubt I could do a top 8 lol. I'd hate to leave that 9th guy off there . In my rankings for the 170 the 9th ranked kid just finished 3rd at the dragon and lost to Canter the champion by1 point !

Maybe you have underestimated him.
I'm not going to say anything about 170 but if you combined 145 - 170 , would the top eight have more 170s or more from the lower weight classes . There is your problem in ranking them and why they are so chaotic .
Jmho but when looking at it that way it's probably the truth ,
Maybe you have underestimated him.
Do you know who he beat at the Dragon ? Thanks

Your wanting stir up trouble there lmao.... Do I think Stephen would be #1 I would say probably but Canter is extremely tough as
well and of course with Cooper and French but... That's why they do have weight classes :-)

Bauer and Fultz and lost to Canter. I cant remember who else he wrestled.
No just being serious , I think Lampe at 45 and 52 , cooper , French , Stephen , and probably a couple more would
Make top eight at 170 making lane and Canter the top two and I also think turner is up there as well but I was making a point you have a few you know are good then it's chaos , same as other classes I guess but if things were proper each class would get tougher and tougher and I'm not so sure it's not that way , I would like to see Stephen wrestle Meiman and others , he has wrestled lane , and I think French is very good and Lampe I on the verge of greatness
There is a couple of 220's in region 1 that may suprise some
Tennesee only ranks their placers along with a "To watch" list, frankly I hate it. I much prefer what Ranger does with the much larger rankings. I always try to take my cue from how people handle College, and thus I always favor a Top 20/25. I only do 6 for my region because it is a nice round number that first every weight and I don't have to type that much.
Top two 220 are clear cut , and I think mueller is up there as well .
Rangers rankings are very neat he ranks top 25 or so which is insanely tough but nearly impossible .
The top 8 with some to watch actually sounds cool ,

See I get to look at from a different prospective. I don't have 2 sons that are probably 2 of the best to ever step on the mats in the bluegrass. I have a nephew that has worked his tail off after struggling in middle school to become a possible state placer (butfirst has to get out of this super tough region 6) I enjoy watching the kids strive to reach Rangers rankings in the top 25. My nephew made the list for the first time middle of the season last year. It was quite the thrill for him knowing that his hard work paid off. I love the way Ranger does his rankings and I think it's something that your average high school wrestler strives for.
That's great , my sons particularly my 220 has worked his butt of since he was 5 or 6 and that's no lie we just got back from a nice go at the gym just as usual , he has moved from a school he loved for years to train with some of the best wrestlers in history then moved a few more times , as for dues you will never meet any wrestler in your life that has paid as much as he has at his age , no boasting no bragging no bs , as for Stephen he trained the same way went through the same hardships except his weight and sise always had the best wrestlers on the planet in it , as probably only Mr Boston would understand , battles with Whitford Harding , Heil , Collica and so on and so on , only difference is I was much harder on Stephen he was my first i expected him to lead and always be better than Austin and he has led the way ,
Sorry to ramble but you don't get to be one of the best without paying more dues or doing more , you just don't wake up and be very good it's time suffering and work .... Sorry if I stated how I felt about 220 , I'm sure some will surprise , good luck to them I admire all wrestlers greatly ,
But I play the game like a champ and i know who has paid his dues and what they can and do ATM is going to win 220 no doubt in my mind ,
He is in a position to do things that have never been done before , so he will do them .
And people will love him for it and who he is , even the people he beats eventually ,
Hope your nephew makes it out , 6 is tough with a couple studs to get past the Ryle kid aint no slouch either , I see your dilemma , good thing Thompson dropped or it would be totally insane .
Got you and the previous poster confused / combined / my bad for getting long winded and defensive have your nephew drill with Austin anytime , sorry

Thanks .. I may take you up on that seriously. He's 170 but will probably go to 182 next year. As for work ethic I know how much your kids have put into it . There's a reason why there the best. You weren't being defensive at all .
Ok cool
, I thought your nephew was 220 , 170 is tough as well with Lane and Meiman and Turner , it's rough all over .and yes Austin is up for training all the time ...
only 1 stud at 220
So is anybody actually going to predict the top eight in each weight class? Maybe Mpire, raider, fanofwrestling6?????
Seems like you all have a lot to say on this topic. Lets get at it.
I'm too lazy to do a top 8, but I'll give you my top 2.
106-#1 Joey Skaggs DH #2 John Hernandez HC
113-#1 Nathan Boston WC #2 Jason Hall Moore
120-#1 Trae Blackwell UC #2 Hudson Heidorf Tri
126-#1 Brock Ervin UC #2 Kyle Lawson WC
132-#1 Sean Fauz CC #2 Wade Willen UH
138-#1 Jayce Carr UC #2 Paul Hamilton CC
145-#1 Tevon Clay FC #2 Justin Lampe St. X
152-#1 Kevin Cooper SK #2 Dominic Lampe St. X
160-#1 Stephen Myers CC #2 Hunter French St. X
170-#1 Caleb Canter LC #2 Lane Jones WV
182-#1 Hiero Chamblee SK #2 Justin McDaniel Moore
195-#1 Wade Holtzclaw JH #2 Sam Preston JC
220-#1 Austin Myers CC #2 Tucker Fair MC
HWT-#1 Zach Troxell Wayne Co. #2 Bobby Bryant Trin
Team Champs-Campbell Co.
Runner Up- St. X
Third place- Union Co.
Quick pin-Bobby Bryant Trin
MOW- With 5 first period pins, Austin Myers
Good guesses if everyone goes where You have them , a few who could switch up finals I would bet though , of course I'm wing a homer but Mathews for 1 and Turner for 2 maybe Adams at 126 or 132 not sure , seems Thompson could challenge at 195 not sure about his injury or some of the others. Judging from Bryant's performance at hvy he would probably be my 1.
I don't know tucker fair or many of the 220 , CC Has battled Ohio and Nky all year and I missed 1 Ky tourny they were in , saw the rumble though and it seemed a good measuring stick , - the union studs and Cooper and I can't remember did Hiero do Iron man instead of The Rumble ,
Top eight is hard to figure , at 170 with all the talk there is probably 4 to 6 that could win , going on experience Lane or Canter , should win going by last week - Canter , going by my Homer heart , Lane ,
Not sure about Cooper I have heard he has had injuries bothering him all yr , if he wrestles like he did at Gmva and the other times I have seen him he wins as he did last week at 152 . Stephen going back to 160 may have a few kinks in a short time to work out but I have seen him beat studs that could win a state title in almost any state nearly every week , he takes 160 , 145 , Lampe should win he seems hungry and hardworking and fierce , 138 ? Back packs and Bird nests .
132 Fausz , sharp as a razor . 126 Brock ,
120 I have seen Heidorf he is tough and my boys say Blackwell is legit so I go with their take on it , Blackwell .
113 Boston
106 I wouldnt have a clue , except it's some kid that needs to grow if he plans on wrestling in college , or the Bindner kid with a freshman upset that kids like him are capable of , and people like me like to see , As long as CC still wins .
I like the darkhorse pick mine was Hiero last yr and he came through , strange enough this yr I would pick Mathews , I saw him beat a kid that few in Ky ever could have dreamed of beating and even with the kid being injured it was one of those moments where you get the feeling some things are gonna go someone's way , 1 because they never stop and 2 because that's what luck is taking advantage of opportunity , when you are a buss saw luck comes your way in wrestling , unless your wrestling someone who just refuses to be scored on like some kid I know .
The only way most of us normal people could pick top eight is to look off of results . So everyone could try it .
Everything is a guesstimation , mow is a coaches opinion , and fastest pin , I don't know kids know who can pin and will run to avoid that dishonor so it's anyone's to grab , most pins in least time still a guessing game Bryant and Austin are probably top candidates with everyone else light years behind , Stephen did well
Last yr but his class has ... More skilled wrestlers than ATM and Bryant's , and heavier kids pin more often due to the nature of the class ,
5 first period pins would probably win an OW in any state , but it didn't win ATM an OW at GMVWA so who knows ,
Steph and Cooper chasing three will
Be front runners , same as Brock , and then there's the big upset guy who shakes up the rankings ,
I think everyone already saw the best match of the yr honestly , unless ATM and Bryant clash , and probably even then , honestly I am tired of my kids being under the gun and the microscope , but it's all about to snowball ,
Big wins this yr at state , all the current state champs , a couple freshman , Fausz and Mathews being AAs , Lampe/ Lampes , being on the verge and having the best match last yr , The top freshman Bindner and Meiman ,
Brock with a chance for 5 ? Correct , and ATM with a chance for a first at four at his weight a massive win streak and looking ahead to another NHSCA run , And probably being the best non sr and possibly anyway freestyle and Greco wrestler in the state . Jmo of course untill he proves it shortly ,
There that's a long boring post that will keep everyones mind of of top eight for a minute .
Time better spent talking about matters at hand like the duals this weekend .
Gus Adams was kind of a toss up for me. He could definately land in the top 2. Tucker Fair is a big strong kid. Pretty hard nosed, more or less a dark horse. Its no fun picking all the same as Ranger. Binder will be on the podium, but this Skaggs kid looked pretty slick to me. He's not being talked up as much as others, but he definately shows up to wrestle. If Hamilton brings his A game, he's capable of knocking off Carr. It's very possible that 145 Lampe could win it, just throwing it out there that the Clay kid is tough. To me, there are 5 bet the farm Champs. Boston, Fauz, Ervin, SAM, and ATM.

I'll do mine after I see the state bracket lol... With the khsaa you may have all 4 of those kids in each weight class on one side of the bracket.. I remember looking at last years 170 and seeing Jude, Canter, Maulpin, Bauer on one side of the bracket just shook my head..
Anyone want to talk seeding?!?! Lol!I'll do mine after I see the state bracket lol... With the khsaa you may have all 4 of those kids in each weight class on one side of the bracket.. I would say I would like to see Bindner win as as a fresh at a light weight , but once bitten twice shy . And you can't help pick the same because there is usually a reason for it they are the best picks lol
Meiman could start a run at four if he stepped up , at 70 but Turner who has beaten him once and before everyone says DQ he was winning before that , could help cement CC as a Dynasty , which it is , it will be a front runner next yr , Fausz Mathews and ATM , another three in hunt for state titles next yr along with Sparh and Graziani who has major but fixable flaws and finally impressed me this past weekend with a showing I thought him capable of from the start , battling a tank from Ohio in Crocket scoring first keeping it tight then falling in the end , as they say the best performances are sometimes duiring a Loss .
As for CC the big matchup everyone is waiting for now is Mathews the soph vs Chamberle the sr , should see it next week at CC , no avoiding it .
As for big school it's obviously a two horse race now CC and X , no one else can challenge , not Sk Ryle or Trinity , Duals will be fun as far as matches here and there but no challenges for either team till
They meet . I suspect state will be the same way CC started out with guys all over the board and people changing setting out whatever but this last weekend they seemed nearly whole and outdid even those licking them to win , they beat a very strong Rochester team and a good Hillsboro as well as a few others in tournament format , our studs hit some studs and won out , and CC wrestlers on the verge of turning it up did so .
Public school powerhouse vs Private school powerhouse , What looks like two dynasty's a rivalry to last for a while and add some flair and excitement to the sport in Ky ,
On another note , all the regions aplitting up in Louisville is BS , giving those schools good seeds because they are scared of cross town comp ,
Yep Mpire is learning how it's done in Ky . All the NKY top schools hav to knock each other off while the powerhouse Louisville schools are split , lol guess it backfires our strong weed out our weak and do the same at state ,
Now that had to stir some stuff up
106 looks to be up for grabs whos gonna take it. Skaggs looks tough as does a couple others. Bindner beating lawson at the dragon was a great match.I could see anumber of people winning 106 stephans, skaggs, bindner, vega, lawson. Thats why they wrestle it out I supposed
Hamilton is at 140 !!!!
I love it when a kid flies under the radar. Especially mine. lol
Only gonna do light weights...il try my best 106- 1.Vega 2.Lawson 3.Binder 4.Roth?? 113- 1.Boston 2.Emerson/Hall 3.Emerson/Hall 4.Rearic 120- 1.Blackwell 2.Adams 3.Austin 4.Duncan 126- 1.Ervin 2.Shirkey 3.Parrot 4.lawson 132- 1. Fauze 2. Willen 3. North 4. Wilkerson
I'll do 3 weight classes and I won't just put chalk in either. I follow 170 extremely close and 182 close but not as close as 170 and 195 but not nearly close as either 170 or 182 got that lol. These are not my rankings as I put those up based on records and tournament outcomes etc. These will be more from my gut and just having fun.
170
1. Canter
2. Lane Jones
3. DJ Perriman
4. Meiman
4. Turner if and a big if Meiman moves down to 160 which my gut says he will especially if MR ATM OOPS SAM goes 152 and Coop 145
182.

Lol!! If ATM makes 152, there will definately be a huge shake up!! I believe you were referring to SAM. Still, I don't see them shifting down. Doesn't make sense. Why cut, when u can basically eat what you want and win it anyway?I'll do 3 weight classes and I won't just put chalk in either. Well ATM is about 68 lbs + from
Making 152 , A is for Austin , SAM
Is S for Stephen Alexander Myers , SM Super Man , ATM Austin Tyler Myers ATM automatic takedown / touchdown Machine , ATM is money ,
I Expect Steph
At 160 and Coop at 152 , but I don't know .
ATM Doesn't like skipping any meals
And he said 152 doesn't sound as cool as 220 .

A BIG OOPS Glad you guys have a sense of humor .... !!!!! you knew what I meant and I'm with Austin I don't like missing meals either
I don't see Cooper dropping to 145 either , it wouldn't be smart to risk a weight change he has not wrestled duiring the year , just before state , perhaps after the allowance or a tourny or two before state but not a few weeks before .
I wonder if there are kids who will do it just for state though , PH dropped but already wrestled 140 , I must say that Rochester kid was a big a 140 he beat ph and Austin Reece both good wrestlers , big 140 I was schocked , and ford from Hillsboro was as tall as ATM and almost as wide but with way smaller wheels and lacked thickness and a go go rilla butt , a jacked up 152
Where does Drew Harris (SK) and Clay Brown (WV) fit in there weight class's
I would say top 5 for each.
Mpire still hasnt given us his weight by weight predictions
I was busy with the coolest longest thread ever and my phone cut out , I'm
Pissed as all get out someone hit me with an EMP !!!
EMP? I know what an ATM, SAM, AA, PH, CC, DQ, BS, and SOB means, but I need to add EMP to the vocabulary. Lol.
Is that a call of duty reference mpire
I leave the 152's and lower to you guys even there movements. Last time I weighed 152 I think I was in the 5th grade so I follow the 160's and up. So I really wouldn't know even if Cooper could drop to 145 just saying if he did there could be a possible 145 Cooper -152 S Myers-160 Johnny Meiman-170 Lane Jones-and 182 Eli Matthews and 195 Trevor Thompson and 220 the ATM maching from Region 6 state champs.. That would be pretty awesome in my book.
There's a very strong contender for runner up in Region 6 at 152 unless he draws Stephen early which I hope he doesn't but you heardit here first. Introducing to the high school scene weighing 153 lbs from Boone County Dru Shoroer already a 6-2 record with 2 3rd place finishes and both losses came from A state contender from Indiana and Kegan Agnew whose pretty darn good in his own right.

Great to hear he's back on the mat.
I dont do weight by weight Predictions , ringside announcing is funner and more entertaining.
Mpire still hasnt given us his weight by weight predictions
Why would Stephen go 152 ??? With Cooper there already it's a region six lock if your looking at it that way and Cooper is a beast on a mission for three just like Stephen with CC biggest rivals having a stud at 160 in the number two ranked French , what kind of maroon would keep steph at 152
Let's not be coy , "not sure what that means "Cooper at 152 can take out Lampe and X points. Stephen at 160 can take out French and X points
If they both win , giving Stephens team CC an edge not sure about Montgomery or Courtney , steph bumped and wrestled Montgomery last yr and won I doubt it's any different this yr but who knows and I doubt anyone but Stephen or Cooper can beat French at 160 . Meiman can drop and go for it who knows but I doubt he could beat French if steph and coop dropped , not many kids can last a match with Stephen French did Meiman I do not think could . I know he's good but it's all I'm the match ups Stephen is lightning . On offense he's fast and on defense he's greased . Meiman is strong with decent skill but a brawler without great skill will get blown away by takedown artist who can brawl and has skill , Mean Meiman honestly has a much better chance at 170 but I would like to see him at 160 , possibly opening up an easier road for Dirty Dustin and some more Points for the thundering Camel Hurd .
113 Brady Emerson will be in the top 4. In the finals if he's on the opposite side of the bracket from Boston. He beat a lot of guys handily.
Lets go through it since we're on the topic

Eli is not getting pinned bro bet on it and he is a future state champ !at worst he loses at best He gets the pin .

138 Hamilton pins Allgeier 10-24
145 lampe pins unknown. 16-24
152 lampe pins unknown. 22-24
160 Stephan dec over French. 22-27
170 baur wins by major over unknown 26-27
180 Matthews dec over pledger 32-30
195 Thompson wins by major. 32-30
220 ATM pins unknown first period. 32-36
Hwy well this match decides it... Not much here for either team
I'm going with winner x over Campbell
Bauers good but no way does he beat Turner..Sorry it's not happening ..Yes I know Bauers ranked higher but Meiman beat Bauer easily and Turner and Meiman have split 2 matches this year that and Bauer is really about strength and Turner's stronger than him. You may think I'm nuts but you haven't seen Turner and I've seen them both.. Looks like he changed Matthews better recalculate the scores lol
Your right mpire my mind slipped on that one it will be a great match between pledger and Matthews, I couldn't predict this one. Two solid wrestlers to say the least. And i don't know Bauer is pretty tough too, man is this dual going to be good or what. There's a lot of studs from both teams. Whooaahh boy get some popcorn everyone Saturday this is going to be fun to see!
And the 2 unknown CC's 2 unknown are seniors who should both place
With the recalculations it looks like Campbell may be hard to beat for anyone in the state. I believe it's between union, Campbell, and x. Campbell obviously the favorites, will have three for sure state champs fausz at 32, Stephan at 60, and ATM at 220
For the record though I would drive down and watch just a dual for a ST X vs CC match even it was down there
You had Mathews getting pinned ??? And CC losing by 3
Then gave him the win and still
Have CC losing hahahahahahahahahh
Something tells
Me your an X Homer
, but yes it should be very good .
I don't know Bauer and you looked unsure about the Spahr match !!!!!
Stephen is at 152 so who knows where he goes probably 160 ,
Not sure about all the pinning you have going on . In this age of
Mat heroes I think some
People forget that pins are just not that easy sometimes , but then again both teams
Have some
Studs .
Best match , probably a no
Brainer French with his recent ow at dragon and SAM unless he's goes 152 , then it's Lampe / SAM
Or the 182 match if Bauer is that good . Eli is on the money , I expect more than a dec from him .
Got it wrong guys Pledger at 182 !!!!
X looks tough as a dual team . CC has a good dual team
Now as well but I think CC has an advantage as a big tourny Team , with five or so possible
Finalists , Fausz , Hamilton , S Myers , Mathews and ATM .
And at 170 with Turner who knows what could happen he and some
Others should make the podium as well $$$$$$$$$$
I'm actually a Simon Kenton homer if you would call it that, and I came back and said Campbell would win this dual if you saw my repost. I will watch this dual no matter how it goes down, where it happens, or what the outcome is. Evenif they duke it out in the parking lot lol.
I know I posted while you were reposting and you quit calculating on your thread you left of some of your X points ,
It looks like it will be very close . I don't know enough of the kids in all honesty to predict I would just jumble stuff around untill
CC won , I will say that CC finishes higher than it did last yr at State duals though .
if CC was wrestling Penn state I would find some loopholes for a camel win ,lol
Such as Stephan beating david Taylor the magician, hey u never know right
Lol they have wrestled a few times at Jordan's with Taylor working some with Stephen and a lot in the same room , he may have figured out Taylor's weak spot you never know , Taylor has always been incredible , we saw him tech Pierce Harger at jr high districts one yr like he was a lifeless practice dummy , he is 100% the real deal . Stephen would be better suited for Hunter Steiber , I would make Hamilton wrestle Taylor or Logan , hahahahahahahha
I know Ohio state
Hamilton would get teched first period lol
Ok,after the Jefferson County tournament. a person posted on kywrestling I hate to say I told you so, when he said Vega would win it.Well now it is my turn to say "I hate to say I told you so".I posted that ST.X would make a strong showing at state because they had a well balanced team.Nobody believed me and even a very close friend laughed and we made a wager that X would be in the top 3.How does that wager look now? I also said if AJ kept training as hard as he was he would make a run at 106.I don't think many people believed that til now.(I know ranger didn't) but I have to thank Ranger because he did lite a fire under him with his rankings.I still think CC is the favorite but X is closing fast. And in the duels this weekend if it comes down to 106 and X wins all CC can blame Ranger.LOL just a joke .should be very fun to watgh this weekend.
Saint x big guns: Binder, Justin lampe, Dominic lampe French, pledger, Bauer. Campbell's: fausz, Hamilton, Stephan, Matthews, ATM, turner. Unions: Blackwell, Ervin, Dezember, Carr, some other good wrestlers as well (Sheffer will score some big points at state too he's tough as nails) Sounds to me like a very tight race for your champs this year.
Hamilton would get teched first period lol
First minute .
Six Guns to Six , I think CC has three champs possibly Five with at least Four finalists 3 certain , and 3 champsSaint x big guns: Binder, Justin lampe, Dominic lampe French, pledger, Bauer.
Campbell's: fausz, Hamilton, Stephan, Matthews, ATM, turner.
Unions: Blackwell, Ervin, Dezember, Carr, some other good wrestlers as well (Sheffer will score some big points at state too he's tough as nails)
Sounds to me like a very tight race for your champs this year.
I think X has a pair of champs maybe only 1 with four possible finalist 2 certain .
Edge CC , Camels are the deadliest Warriors .
I was reading back on a few posts and found this. Glad to hear that he's back. He should have never left. I hope he has time to get in wrestling shape. It will be nice seeing him on the mat.
Don't know if I see 4 from x making the finals or 5 from cc how did you come to that conclusion mpire

At 182, I don't believe Pledger finished in the top 4 at The Dragon. Chamblee is definitely number 1. McDaniel is clearly number 2. I think it is anyone's guess for number three, although I have my own opinion.
I said CC had 3 x had 1 the rest were possibles ,Don't know if I see 4 from x making the finals or 5 from cc how did you come to that conclusion mpire
Possible finalists , Fausz , Stephen , Hamilton , Mathews , Austin , and at 170 Turner could surprise
X Possible Bindner Lampe Lampe French , with Lampes and French .good bets and I don't know Bauer ,
I think Justin Lampe is the favorite at 145 , Cooper at 152 , Stephen at 160 ,
I know people have dreams but Stephen has been scored on once this year twice by the same person ,and the first was a bad call the second in the late part of the third off of bad position on a forced shot . I don't think anyone can score on him .
I dont know Bauer i assume he may make finals , French has faltered I guess but I do not see Montgomery beating him and I'd he does Stephen will at least major him
Or get a tech like last yr . Stephen techd the kid who
Beat Courtney at the rumble i don't see him challenging .
X may have a better dual team in a few days everyone finds out . But if CC wins the dual there is no chance X beats them at state in a tourny format .
In the meantime I don't count on anyone doing the obvious ,
As for who goes where at CC I think I have said enough ,
Ok I can see now where you came up with your prediction. I don't see anyone beating lampe at 45 or cooper at 52 or Stephan at 60, those in my mind are sure wins.
Noticed maggards been wrestling 120 and Krebs at 113 how will this work for state duals..
106:
1 vega -kid looked super tough against bender at dragon and is solid
2 lawson-he can wrestle with anyone could be his year
3 bender- this kid can scramble
4 Stephans
113:
1 boston - he pinned rearic, and emerson could pin through state
2 emerson/dezember- emerson beat rearic at the dragon pretty bad
3 emerson/dezember- dezember is very solid. Should make finals if hes on oppisite side of Boston
4 Rearic
120:
1 blackwell- very tough overall should walk with it
2 adams- looked tough at dragon had good finals match
3 whalen
4 duncan
126:
1 urvin- future 5 timer
2 parrot- very solid could have trouble with shirkey
3 shirkey
4 lawson
132:
1 Fausz- would love to see a Fausz urvin rematch
2 north- very solid cant wait to see what happens at state
3 wurth
4 Willen
Bindner and Lawson have already wrestled Bindner winning and so have Shirkey and parrot. Parrot looked off his game against Shirkey I think he could beat him by 6. Boston will pin through state. Fausz will cruise. Blackwell could get challenged by Adams
Lawson was up 6-3 with 33 seconds left and tried to hit a cement mixer giving up 2 and 2 so ill stick with lawson
That wouldn't be considered a wise move with a 3 point lead and little time left ,
Agnew is from Caldwell county ky. And he pinned that kid from boone at the beginning of the 2nd period after already being up by almost 10 points and i believe Agnew has a very good shot with ending up in the finals
Slow Ride - We almost saw Cooper get beat this weekend. D. Lampe was in control of that match for 5 minutes and 45 secs. I didn't want to see Cooper get beat, but I was thinking that I am watching a match that people will be talking about for years. If anyone else watched that match they will be talking about it for years. Best match I have seen since the 138 finals last year at State. I hope we get to see it again. I'd like to see Cooper get three (he probably will), but IMO 152 is not locked.
At 145 or 152? Hasn't he wrestled both this year?Agnew is from Caldwell county ky. And he pinned that kid from boone at the beginning of the 2nd period after already being up by almost 10 points and i believe Agnew has a very good shot with ending up in the finals
D. Lampe came out on a mission. I was standing beside the mat. Even when he gashed his head open he never stopped pressuring Cooper. Did anyone hear if he got stitches? It look pretty bad.
I thought Agnew was at 152.
He's ranked at 145 but has been wrestling 152 recently I believe.
Agnew is at 152

That was only his 5th match after a 3 year layoff ..Give him until state and he will be a top 5 contender... I said runner up just in region 6 .. If Agnew gets to wrestle are number 1's in region 6 either Kevin Cooper or Stephen Myers.. Only 2 words to say to Agnew ... Good Luck
I will say however Agnew is very good !
Binder also gave up 2 penalty points right away after reversing him. Lawsons tough and so is binder they both wrestled a great match. Wasnt wise of lawson trying that move on a good wrestler. kevin also didnt look his best I see him beating lampe solid at state
Frederick Agyeman Franklin County gave Agnew a tough match in Finals of Capital City Classic. Agyeman was leading and Agnew got a reversal in the last 15 secs IIRC.
Going out on a limb maybe but I doubt any kid who has not wrestled in the last three yrs has a shot at finals at state , or at making it out of a match with Stephen or Kevin .
If you're talking about my quote about Shoerer I said runner up in are region 6 at 152 not state lol ....... I do think he has a chance to place top 8 though. He's looked good for not having wrestled.
Also yes the match between Agnew and Agyeman was the best match at the Capital Classic. I thought Agnew should have won MOW
Other than Ageyman, who did he beat? I thought the winners from AC and FC were well deserving.
Ok i don't know how much indepth I could talk about all the weight classes,so i will do the only one I know. 106 -first thing I know is Jake Burroughs is not getting the respect he deserves. The kid is 35-0 and beat Vega. For those of you that don't know much about jake he was only the best ele.school wrestler ever in this state. 5 state titles. He battled some heath issues the past couple of years and seems to be turning it back on.Scaggs-another wrestler that has been around since birth( lol).Bindner,Scaggs and Burroughs have been wrestling each other for 10 yrs now.All haveing wins against each other.AJ and Jake wrestled their very first match ever against each other when they were barely out of diapers. So all of these 3 could beat each other on any given day.Another wrestler that has a big shot is Vega.3 yrs ago when AJ and Vega were team mates I told many people to watch out for this kid at middle school state.Well he didn't do as well as I talked him up,but he seams to have turned things around in a big way.I was right just a little late.Next - lawson has been very tough only 2 losses and both I believe in OT to rangers #1 ranked kid(simpson) and Bindner. Then, and these are in no order,Simpson.I have not seen him but only heard he beat Lawson in ot ,so he must be tough. Now for region 1,they have 2 of rangers top 3-ward-thacker.But the one more people talk about is Sheffer(I know bindner and lawson have both beat sheffer but they were close). So all 3 of these must be very close in talent(reg. 2).I have now given 9 kids at 106 and I will give you one more Roth. Of these 10, i think you could wrestle state 5 times and get 5 different winners.I think 106 is the most wide open wt. class.there may be some more 6's so if anyone knows any kids that fit with these 10 feel free to jump in.
Sorry Stephans not Simpson
I agree, Colin Roth has a shot. His experience/age could just pay off. He's a very technical, strong and athletic wrestler. He just always seems to do something knucklehead in the big matches. Love Scheffer, just think he's too light to fight this year though he could very well prove me wrong. I'm going with Bindner or Vega. Going to come down to who wants it more. I know someone who wants it real bad.

I agree
I was gonna post a top 8 for you guys in all weight classes with write ups for each weight but as I say time and again to the region one guys, it is very hard to rank kids without watching them wrestle. If you guys really want me to dig through the results and give you something akin to what I give region 1 let me know, otherwise I am not putting forth the effort.
That would be great.
Top eight each class is hard , top 10 or 25 or 50 in state would be cool ,but meaningless , top 5 in each class by class would be interesting ,
I would say in a few days everyone may have a clearer or foggier picture of top kids in each class .
I would like to see a top 5. The Myers. Boys are awsome, but I would like to see a little farther down the list.

You do a fantastic job on your rankings but it is hard without not having seen everyone. I'm only doing one weight class and I find new information almost daily.
I had the top at 106 done with write up after about 20 minutes of frustrating research. I tried to copy and paste it to word so I could finish it later but as these things always do, it glitched on me and I lost everything again. Some highlights of that though was I had that McCreary Central kid ranked first followed by Lawson with 3 region 1 guys in the top 8 (Sheffer, Ward, and Thacker obviously. Don't sleep on Wes Gray either)

I love sheffer, but I hate to say it, he isnt going to be able to make a run this year.
I have had a lot of guys who have actually seen the wrestlers tell me that Sheffer isn't gonna win the region but I learned in my time you never sleep on the Union kid. (Luke Ervin, Brock Ervin, Thomas Buckman, etc)
I think he may win the region just not state, region 1 is tough! !!
Pledger beat McDaniels at JCTC didn't he?? And the only reason he didn't place top 4 is because he got injuredAt 182, I don't believe Pledger finished in the top 4 at The Dragon. Chamblee is definitely number 1. McDaniel is clearly number 2. I think it is anyone's guess for number three, although I have my own opinion.
I think, Kevin , Jayce ,Stephen , are top dogs no order or whatever regardless of win loss whatever this yr , it's body of work + Stephen has done quite a lot and in more than one style even though it wasn't all in Ky he will be mentioned when top dogs come up in the future . Bryant looks as if he could be a great college wrestler if he chose that path doesn't have their record or cred but I admire srs monsters and wrestler/ football players , Rearic has impressed me as a wrestler and a leader and If i put all the srs on one team he's the captains captain ,just seems smart with a touch of devious ,Ph , Dominic L is a sr I think but not sure , French , Canter , Clay and certainly Lane Jones and Hiero are all worthy of being among the top wrestlers and I know there Are more I just touched on some .i think my top four were Solid and the winner of Canter Jones Chamberle nabs the 5th spot . Only Srs
Now there's Boston who will end up in no mans land sort of like Stephen but not as many moves one of the best but there will be that ? But it won't matter he gets it done .
Not sure how many Blackwell has won or if he is a sr if so he belongs on the list if not he will be .
Ky is golden they have Brock a possible 5 timer and ATM a 220lb possible 4 timer , and all they have done and will do , when you shine just as bright outside of the state as you do in it it's gold.

No respect
Pledger beat McDaniels at JCTC didn't he?? And the only reason he didn't place top 4 is because he got injured
Pledger seem to be fine when he went against fooks. Fooks beat him pretty soundly too. After that match pledger stop for the rest of the day. He didn't seem like he was hurt tho. I think McDaniel pinned fooks earlier in the day but Fooks is a very good wrestler and I think we'll be seeing him in the top 8
Hey Mpire I know you could answer this one what's the tougher weight class in region 6- 152 or 160 ? Who are the top 4 in each Thanks a lot..I just don't know a lot about those weight classes. I know the 1's kevin and Steph .. but 2-4 I don't know thanks again
152 ,if Kevin and Stephen are there
160, if Kevin and Stephen are there
152 and 160 are about the same if Kevin stays 152 and Stephen stays 160 as is expected .
Honestly , I couldn't say I watch those two pretty close and look for who might challenge and there's a big drop off , not blasting anyone , I guess if Meiman drops and Stephen is at 160 it would Definatly make 160 the tougher class those two and Schwachter .is at 160 as well .
I'm doing a little reasearch but just trying to see what I can come up with other than the locks Cooper and SAM
152 cooper- Logan Jones-Belk- woods -Bailey - Jo-Warwick- Schoerer..... note: These arn't my rankings just seeing who's going to be in the regional same goes for 152
160- SAM - Schwachter- Ja- Warwick -Risch from Dixie ?
I don't know if Meiman will drop that was my gut instinct but after having finished 3rd at the dragon and only losing to Canter by 1 I just don't know and I know I'm missing some kids especially at 160 Bailey moved down and Madden and Liversgowdy are now at 170
I think Meiman stays at 170 from what I am gathering people
Are waiting or trying to figure out who is where . If he wrestled Canter to 1 he probably has a shot at a title , him Jones and Turner at 70 that may be the toughest class at 6 regionals . I think Mathews Chamberle is the best match at 6 but it may be apples and oranges three 170 are tough i hear Steel was not at the top of his game
Earlier so we will see ,

170 is loaded in regon 6.. I truly believe it to be the hardsest division to qualify for state in any weight class any region and I'll put friendly debates up on that with anyone that wishes to debate it. Yes you have Lane Jones, Turner, and Meiman but with Braden Jones in there who on any given match can beat anyone not to mention Hicks who finished 9th last year and was 1 move away from being in the final 4 in the winners bracket at 182 last year at state and 2 others that would qualify in any other region at 170. I really believe we will have even a chance of 4 placers at state from this weight class. I just don't know if it would be mathematically possible.
and 182 Yes Steele is very good at 182 and he had an off match against Matthews and was sick at the NKAC and is 36-2 but Matthews seems to have really gotten better as the year has gone on.. Those 2 along with Chamblee I look to all be placers at state.
You said it best when you said the big schools down state are divided into 2 regions and Northern Kentucky has just 1 .. crazy.. smh
It will get their better kids out with high seeds but ,weaken their regions as a whole , making region six kids very tough at state , just gives some good kids bad seeds or whatever it is .i heard it was more than 2 regions but I do not know ,
I guess it splits up the private powerhouses in the state .
138 looks decent at region between Hamilton sanders and and clay brown with Hamilton coming out on top of course
Clay has been a hard worker over the years , one of the ky kids who traveled to get better . I would never count him out .
