FCHS's Preseason Rankings

Topic ID: 9709 | 60 Posts

Well I know I promised these a long time ago, but you try going through all these results AND predict weight changes. I'm not Ranger, I don't have the connections and data to make this a 2 month job versus a 3 month job. Expect a TON of mistakes and if you see one you better call me out on it. I am pretty sure I got a couple schools wrong and there are tons of kids I probably missed. But my mistakes aside I really wanted to get something out to you guys since you've been waiting so patiently. It's only a top 12 because anymore and my brain might have exploded, this would be a lot easier if I knew were these kids were going. There might be a Region 1 bias at certain weights since that is the one place I trust my knowledge

You have josh case ranked twice 160 and 170

Its rediculous that Logan Erdman is on one of those lists.

Jake Fooks 182

Casey Cornett (9)-152 or 160

It will be interesting to see how these rankings compare to Ranger's.

It will be interesting to see how these rankings compare to Ranger's.

Ranger put a lot more work into his they will be a lot better

You have josh case ranked twice 160 and 170

I was afraid of that happening, I took a couple sanity breaks during these and a lot of times I was looking one weight down to find guys. I caught most of the times I double ranked. Or maybe the kid is just that good

Once you get moving lots of kids around it is so hard to catch them all. It is so easy to copy a name and forget to delete him from the prior weight.

Angel Vasquez (10), Lafayette should be in at 126 or 132

Definitely, can't believe I missed him

I'm pretty sure  Bradley Pokuta, North Hardin is graduating

You're right I must've mixed him up with someone else. 126 was one of the last weights I did and the names were all blurring together by then. Makes room for Angel Vasquez though

It's always hard to predict weights for the next season.  I was trying to put together some rankings of my own and ran in to the same problem.  They are along the same lines as yours, but I have some of the weights different.  I think this is a good rough draft and I appreciate the effort.

I've already heard of a couple weight changes people finally shared with me after posting this. For example Wes Gray (8@106) is going 126 next year

I might be wrong but I think perez and couch from larue age out

Perez has another year, not sure about Couch but I think he is still good

Perez is good, Couch ages out. Know this for sure

Ranger's rankings are indeed much better than yours. In fact yours can be picked apart by anyone who knows anything about the 6th region. These rankings are full of personal bias for certain wrestlers.

Frankly this is just trying to get a response out of me, I'm not biting bud. But I do have one request for such bold words

Forget Ranger, YOU do better. We can come back to this later in the year for bragging rights

Thank you Ranger and FCHS I look forward to working together to put out rankings again next year. I will do my dual rankings soon. With football and Zija I am going to be occupied  for awhile.

Y'all have some big shoes to fill since the staff is almost completely changed since our first state title haha

Good job on your rankings , and good response to your critic , anyone can do their own and have their own spin on it its all wrestling and all interesting , now combine about every three weights and , tell us who does what , that would be interesting !!!!

Why forget Ranger? He's pretty darn good. So lets get back to your rankings shall we? Ethan Frank beat Badida who you have ranked 7th at 126, at regionals. Pinned  Badida in the third after leading 12-2. He did this after breaking his arm and not having practiced or conditioned for seven weeks. He got doctors clearance the day before regionals and he also wasn't seeded, so he had to wrestle the 1 seed, 3rd seed, 4th seed, and 5th seed so not an easy tourney. His only loss was to Joey Parrot who is no slouch. Sam Schwacter wrestles for Scott not Sheldon Co.

Also FCHS/JCU125, I apologize for coming off like an ass. The only region I could rank would be the 6th and then with a few wild guesses.

Since it is well known I am only an expert (in a very loose sense of the term) in Region 1 I miss minor head to head match ups like that. Usually I give the edge to those who won head to heads. The logic here was a bit of a quality of losses sort of deal at the state tournament. Frank was stuck by two non placers, tough non placers, but non placers none the less. On the other hand Badida was stuck by two placers and had one more win then Frank. 132 also angers a couple region 1 guys since I have Hedrick ranked over two people kids who beat him at regionals, this is of course because I am not gonna fault a kid who had a great year but a horrid tournament. A lot of cases of kids being ranked too high for their resume is  the fact none of us have any idea how the weights are going to fall.

Y'all have some big shoes to fill since the staff is almost completely changed since our first state title haha

We will be fine.

Physcotic wrestler- you are making those at Scott look real bad. I know coach Graven really well, I competed against him in school and I know he would shake his had that somebody from his school would blast another for their opinion. Mr Graven is a class act and wouldn't be cool with the way you attacked a young man having fun with his own rankings. Remember rankings are worth as much as the paper they are on, or forum, in this case.

Sometimes you are not allowed to have a bad tourny "

At 106 you left the daviess county kid out you have sapp ranked and he got majored by the DC at regionals and I talked to him today he is attending 7 camps Jeff Jordan three times he is very possibly in the race at 106.

You know what, I am actually a big fan of Martinson he was my dark horse in the region tourney and he showed up just like I said he would. I used my region 1 predictions for reference and because Daviees is switching to region 2 I forgot about him. Moses Williams from Apollo nearly had the same treatment

I think Belk should be third at either 152 or 160.

Thats the thing about posting on here. I dont know who is posting on here. The fact still remains that I did apologize and need no further feedback from you. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but dont make a post if you can't handle criticism. As far as Don Graven goes, I'm his biggest fan. In fact I love him like a son and always have his back. What ever I say in these posts reflects not at all on Scott High, as these are my opinions and no one else's.

Good attempt and effort into these....Just a few observations.....Brady Emerson behind Vega and Binder ???  Really ???.....Brady on another level and probably at a higher weight this year.....You forgot Jason Hall......He and Chris Beeler will battle it out for the Championship at 113......Just my opinion !    I know it takes a lot to put rankings together, especially with weight changes etc....almost forgot...I love Jack Fallon at 106 and Tucker Hurst at 113....Both have a shot at it all !

You have to put Vega(State Champ) in front of Emerson.  I watched Vega wrestle at Walbash and he was giving kids from other states all they wanted.  Emerson is very good, but head to head I say Vega.

Brady was one point away two years ago when he lost to Mike Whalen from wrestling in the State Final.....I love Vega....In fact I told him he would win it in December at 106.....I know what I am talking about......Brady is probably much heavier this year anyway.....Trust me on this one.....Jason Hall and Chris Beeler can scrap along with Tucker Hurst from Woodford.......I guess we will see, won't we !

I would like to see the match up.  Not saying your wrong, just would be a good match.

We won't see a Emerson/Vega matchup. Quite certain of that.

My Boy Tyler Frankrone from St. X didn't even make the top 10?????? I'm hurt!!!!! Just Kidding! He's a sleeper though! LOL!

I'm sorry, I mean top 12!  ;)

Really your as ignorant as it gets, hurst won't make the top 4,hall and beeler won't be 113. I wouldn't be shocked if it was binder and vega at 113. Glad to see we got a wood ford guy that pulls for oldham people too. I love Fallon to death but he won't be a front runner at six. Might need to over look your pot based on results. Frankrone will be a state champ at 195 you heard it hear first.

Yea you know what your talking about, Jason can scrap, well I believe 1-2 at the state tourny is a little on the downside agree. You may wanna stick to eating your popcorn in the stands.

Wow that was harsh, but I think he ate nachos.

Tucker Hurst will be at 113 and he's a 10th grader. Great rankings btw.

From what I have seen and heard Meade Co is changing up its weight class a lot this year. Just might shock many to see who is wrestling what weight class.

Well FCHS I would say nice try at this impossible task.  Your working with a lot less info that Ranger and working with a lot less experience.  In no way shape or form would I even attempt such a task, and if I did I sure wouldn't come close to being correct.

I haven't heard so much crying and belly aching since I ran a 24 hour shift in the emergency room.  I'm not sure why anyone would want to even try this if they are going to get attacked in such a way.

Just keep on plugging away FCHS.  It's all for sh!!s and giggles anyway.

GOO out.

Slowride ... KMA... Figure that one out... Not a Woodford guy... Just a guy who has been in the game longer than you... .. I do have some popcorn and a place for you to put it....one kernel at a time !..........Top 3 at 113 in the State next year....Beeler, Hall and Hurst !!!

Pm me for a side wager, I know for a solid fact of your wrong predictions last year, at one particular weight class. Your pretty stupid obviously. Putting two non placers in top3 haha ridiculous

Lets hear you top three for some other weight classes, I need something to laugh at, 106-126

Slow ride- you are quite the jerk! I forgot we have a new tough guy on the blocks. Instead of ridiculing another for their post how bout you be the bigger man and respect their opinion and keep your jack ass comments to yourself.

What a tool

Amen Cougar05! You talk a lot of shit Slow Ride, how bout you step on the mat and back it up! My guess is you won't say inappropriate things on here anymore... Have a nice day! TOOL!

slow ride, take it easy, slow ride, take it easy

slow down, go down, got to get your lovin' one more time.

hold me, roll me, slow ridin' woman your so fine.

  I couldn't resist.  :P  :D

Tucker Hurst will be at 113 and he's a 10th grader. Great rankings btw.

That sounds more like it.  Did he ever weigh above 113 last season? Just wrestled 120 bc Boston moved down.  If he can sneak  down to 106 he is  a title contender.

Blake Gamble will be in 8th grade next year

Your turn

Oh god, I was talking to some people about rankings the other day, I have no idea where my notes are and even then region 1's rankings are sorely in need of an update. I'll post rankings again once the actual season starts, but rest assured outside of some well known arguments Ranger and I have concerning region 1 they are very similar from what I have seen.

If you truly want my opinion on wrestling I can post a link to a college write up I posted for AWN, it isn't very impressive but I made a point of talking about Kentucky at every single weight.

and by for AWN I mean on the TOM forum, by popular demand though

Post it

you had codey stephens at 5th wow

max andrioni will not bet Dylan West, he has wrestled Dylan about six time and has never been with even 6 points of beating him and neither will chris gilky  . the only reason Dylan lost to him in state last year was because Dylan thought he was ahead before it was to late to realize what had happened he realized he was a point down other than that he would have beat him but ifs ,everyone has . Just looking forward to wrestling him to prove it .
